From DI’s link:

“Only Alec Baldwin is primarily responsible for the firing of the loaded gun on the Rust set last year that killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, a Los Angeles Superior Court judge ruled Friday.”

“The only person who knew Baldwin was going to fire the weapon was Baldwin,” the judge wrote.”

“The tragic shooting on the Rust set occurred during a rehearsal in which a gun was not even supposed to have been utilized.”

(Take that AB!)

So many people dislike Alec Baldwin, that MOO it was easy to jump on him with the major share of blame.

I just wonder how public opinion would trend if the actor involved was either relatively unknown, or an extremely popular actor or actress.

JMO

Or an actor with compassion & grace who possibly talked about the tragedy for the family and observers and others impacted, and avoided the chant of MeMeMeMeME?

I saw that yesterday. Very interesting.
Yeah. I've always had the idea simmering in the back of my mind that this was somebody's stupid prank gone wrong. No particular evidence, just a dumb hunch. We'll see.

Let's hope they prosecute him.

“Indeed ... the husband of Halyna Hutchins -- who was shot and killed by Baldwin last year -- has announced he's no longer pursuing a lawsuit against AB or the "Rust" producers, saying they've reached terms and agreed to drop his wrongful death lawsuit.”

I'm pretty surprised by this outcome.

There was clear negligence (at the very least) on that set, I wouldn't want to work with people who's negligence led to my partner dying. But thats JMO ofc

Alec Baldwin settled a lawsuit filed by loved ones of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins who was killed on the set of his movie "Rust," the actor's lawyer said Wednesday.

Hutchins was fatally shot and director Joel Souza wounded in the Oct. 21, 2021, incident in New Mexico when a live round was discharged from a gun held by Baldwin, who shares screen and producer credits on the suspended movie.

The cinematographer's family filed a lawsuit in February against Baldwin and others involved in the film, accusing them of reckless behavior and cost-cutting measured led to the tragedy...

I’m surprised too. I would think they would just scrap the project…

Honestly who is gonna watch this movie?

I sincerely hope there's not going to be any real guns on set. Will they do what Dwayne Johnson suggested and CGI in the effects?

More from Deadline:

Hmm.. is this what Halyna's husband does for a living? Or is this a new thing?

from link above:
As part of the peace, the DP’s husband Matthew Hutchins will executive produce Rust, which will return to production in January 2023 with the original cast.
