All Sauvie Island Searches

No, still no confirmation by LE in MSM that I've seen. The link upthread from KOIN makes it appear that it's confirmed by LE, but they don't state it and give the name of the LEO as they usually do when MCSO confirms something, so I'm very skeptical of whether MCSO did. They hold info sooooo close to the vest.

I agree Bean. To me it almost seems like info is leaking out around the edges and Le doesn't dispute it and so it stays visible in the press. There have been so many rumors for months about this truck being in the general area, withing minutes away from SI. That recent link I read where LE gave the reasons why they were searching SI so thoroughly now, it was much more definitive about the Horman truck being seen that morning on SI. I can't believe no one else read it.

Thanks, guys. How about the fliers? (no, not hockey!)......Did those fliers talk about Terri in the truck on SI?

Do you mean an article where LE says directly that information? If so, I would very much appreciate the link, Scandi.

Or if anyone else has it, I would really appreciate it if you'd post it.

I'm surprised that there haven't been more headlines of LE confirming the pings or the truck on Sauvie. That's critical info.

TIA

The three fliers I'm aware of didn't - the Aug 11 press conference flier, the Dede Spicher flier, and the early Terri-at-the-school flier.

Kinda strange, eh?

LE has never denied that cell phone pings are one reason they are searching Sauvie Island. It may not be the only reason, but it's probably a good reason.

http://www.katu.com/news/local/104213469.html

Nearly 12,000 acres of the island are undeveloped, serving as the Sauvie Island Wildlife Area. The island is surrounded or dotted by water features, including Sturgeon Lake, Johnson Lake, Halderman Pond and Wagonwheel Hole. In June The Willamette Week newspaper, citing anonymous police sources, reported that cell phone records show Terri Horman was on the island June 4.

Original Willamette Week Story June 17th 2010: HERE

The search for Kyron has focused on Sauvie Island, a stretch of land five miles from the elementary school where Moulton Horman said she last saw him. Multiple sources tell the Weekly that Kyron's stepmother's story doesn't match her cell phone records, which indicate she was on Sauvie the day he disappeared.

Fox News: Notice Gates doesn't say it isn't true, he just doesn't confirm the cell phone pings.

http://www.foxnews.com/us/2010/06/1...ic-saw-kyron-hormans-stepmother-day-vanished/

Searchers have been combing Sauvie Island, 10 miles northwest of downtown Portland, but police refuse to say why.

The Willamette Week newspaper, citing anonymous police sources, reported that cell phone records show Terri Horman was there June 4.

"I don't have control over what papers report," (Captain Jason) Gates (of the Multnomah Sherrif's Office) said when asked about the Willamette Week article.

If it was false, why wouldn't he just say so? :waitasec:

plus, the dateline piece just talked about the pings. It's all over the msm. Not sure why it's still subject to debate :::shrug:::

Talking about anonymous sources isn't exactly a resounding "HEY! The WW got it right!!!!"

There has been nothing from LE stating definitively that pings from Terri's cell phones draw them to SI then?

I agree - we don't have to prove it all over again every day since it's common knowledge. JMO

I think I tracked down the article about the guy who sighted TH's white truck near Sauvie Island. It was near enough to make them search in that direction:

Also Sunday, a man who asked not to be shown on camera, expressed his frustration about the Kyron Horman tipline.

“Chas” said he has called the tip line twice, but hadn’t heard back. He was concerned other people’s tips, like his, were not checked on.

Chas said he saw Terri Horman the day Kyron mysteriously vanished.

“I was on my way to work, driving down Highway 30,” said “Chas.”

It was Friday, June 4th, sometime between 9:15 and 9:45 in the morning. “Chas” was heading south on Highway 30, on his way to work when a white truck pulled out onto the road.

"It came out of one of these side streets, I am not exactly positive which one, but I am pretty much sure that it was north of Logie Trail road.”

Logie Trail Road is right across from Sauvie Island. One of the areas investigators have searched several times.

"I recognize that truck because I have a friend that has a similar truck and I thought it was him.”

But when “Chas” pulled up next to this truck, he saw that it wasn't his friend, it was a red-haired woman, he didn't recognize.

He later realized that “red-haired” woman was Terri Horman.

“I didn't really think anything of it, obviously at that time there was no reason to.”

“Chas” said he's been following Kyron's disappearance since day 1, and when police released the flier asking the public to come forward with any information if they had seen Terri Horman or the white truck the day Kyron disappeared. That's when “Chas” remembered back to June 4th and called the tip line.

“The next day, I called again, and gave a little bit more detailed information because in the back of my mind I was thinking maybe I didn't give enough information."

1) LE has never denied a whole host of rumors - that doesn't make them fact.

2) From the article you linked:

This information comes from five separate law-enforcement officials from agencies at the city, county and federal level. To our knowledge, none is directly involved with the investigation.

If you have a link where MCSO confirms Terri's phone pinged on Sauvie and that's why they're searching there - or even that Terri's phone pinged on Sauvie - I'd appreciate a link.

I just spent 2 hours searching news articles, and can't find one. You seem to have links from all over MSM at your fingertips - could you please give us even just one?

Thanks, germaine.

1) I provide links every day of my life, and I never find it difficult. It only takes a minute to copy/paste a URL and a snippet from a new article. And much of it is very old info that I've posted ("proven") a myriad of times. I never mind posting it again because no matter how many times I post it, no matter all the resources I've put together in the reference forum, if someone has never seen it - they've never seen it, and I'm more than happy to provide it to them.

2) That's not a white truck on Sauvie, and has never been contended to be. I dodn't understand why you're bringing that in.

We have no confirmed MSM reports that Terri's cell phone pinged on Sauvie Island that day. But we do have a quote from Kaine thanking searchers for trying to solve the "mystery of Sauvie Island."

http://bringkyronhome.org/findkyron/default.html

"10/12/2010 Kaine I wanted to thank all of the Search and Rescue crews out on the search again the past two weekends and the days in between. We can’t thank you all enough, you are amazing. Our thoughts are with you all as work on Sauvie Island continues until closure; we hope for clues and/or information that can help solve the mystery of Sauvie Island on June 4th and aid in bringing Kyron home as quickly as possible!!"

Kaine has also been very clear that he believes Terri is responsible for whatever happened to his little boy.

Therefore, it is not a stretch too far to believe that Sauvie Island's "mystery" of June 4 involves Terri and Kyron. Indeed I cannot think of an alternative explanation...though I am open to hear one...of how the "Sauvie Island Mystery" does NOT involve Terri.

We also know LE has dedicated many, many man hours to searching Sauvie Island.

Therefore ...there must be a concrete tangible reason for this. Until we get confirmation,of course, we cannot say with certainty it is Terri's cell phone pings...maybe it's even firmer than that. But certainly, there is good cause to link Terri, June 4, Sauvie Island and Kryon's disappearance together.

And the "pings" make very good sense. If preferable, we can just agree a link must exist of some evidentary value. LE is not fixated on Sauvie out of thin air. They are not searching the school grounds like this....or anywhere else.

We DO NOT know what they know. Not everything is in MSM links...but common sense does provide us certain clear linkages IMO.

Thanks, but the conversation was about a white truck seen by SI residents driving around on SI.

You know, actually, the conversation was about whether MCSO confirmed that Terri's cell pinged on Sauvie.

Knock it off on this thread.

Ask for a link. If you don't get it move on. Everyone stick to facts.

We don't dress each other down on the threads. If today is anything like yesterday I will see to it that this forum closes for the day until everyone gets a reality check.

That "sighting" of Terri's truck between 9:15-9:45 may not have fit in with her being seen in person at the 2nd Albertson's...not sure how far apart they are. Also, with the 9:12 receipt, if it exists. I don't think that was her.

IIRC, Kaine Horman and Desiree Young, in at least one of their interviews said that Terri Horman herself, came home venting to the three of them (including Tony Young) that police were telling her that her phone had pinged in places she was not that day. She was upset and open about this to all of them.

Now, there you have three multiple sources, close to the case, who could and did turn around and tell media that Terri's phone, according to Terri, was pinging somewhere else. Also, keep in mind, that Tony Young is also Law Enforcement. Soooo, if Tony told the media that, then now you have a statement from LE who is not actually working on the case.

The above is just an example of where media might come up with some "source" information. I do not know who the media's "source family" is, but there's been a whole lot of unidentified members in this case. Which, is one reason I personally like to wait for MCSO to confirm these types of things, and to the best of my knowledge I don't recall them ever saying that Terri Horman's phone pinged on SI. Doesn't mean it didn't, just that they've not said. Obviously, they have some reason for searching SI. I wish we knew exactly what that was.

The Chas witness, was on the other side of Hwy 30 from Sauvie Island, and if Terri Horman's receipt from the first FM is authenticated by LE, then that couldn't have been Terri that this gentleman spotted because the time frame is off. However, I always thought his story sounded credible, and so I sure hope LE has video of her at the first FM store as well.
