I wonder this all the time about all wealthy folks who get popped for DUIs, especially multiple times. I hate driving and if I had the means, I would never drive again. But some people like to drive, so who knows.

Ain't it the truth, South?! I would hire a driver any day if I made 700k a month! Heck, I'd give anything not to have to hassle with it!

Icompletely agree. She had 2 kids ,one after the other and now a bad divorce. I could not cope with that myself. I know she will get better.
Funny, I never cared for Brittany. But I can understand her pain and all the flipped out stuff she is doing.

Do any of you ever wonder what made Britney snap? It's very obvious when I watch interviews of her from the 'old' days that she was healthy & normal.. I remember when she got preg. with her first son she was on cloud 9...it seems like after he was born it all went downhill from there. I just wonder what it was that made her snap & turn into this very mentally ill person?

I think when she got pregnant she THOUGHT she wanted kids. Then I think she got pregnant the second time to "save" that loser husband of her's. WHY she thought it would work is beyond me! I mean he LEFT his PREGNANT GF to be with HER!!! Some people just don't think things out very well. Now, I am NOT saying that she doesn't love her kids. I think she does love them very much!!! Just NOT as much as she love HERSELF!:bang:

They are going *WAY* too far now, and are definitely a public nuisance/hazard, have been for some time. It's just really being highlighted with the Britney dramaplay.

You make a good point. There was video shot last week of her at a baby store, the pap crush was so brutal apparently someone could be heard screaming "She's Pregnant!", not in relation to Britney but because a pregnant woman was stuck in that scene at the store.

I guess she doesn't realize the 700k she pulls in every month could be spent on a d*mn good nanny, a d*mn good therapist, a d*mn good divorce lawyer and a d*mn good drug rehab facility; not to mention a d*mn good driver. I suppose that wouldn't be a fun way to spend it though, now would it! :doh:

I guess it depends on your priorities.... partying, shoes, ice cream , new puppies, chandelier... or on practical issues like thereapist, driver, nanny...etc...:waitasec: so difficult to decide...

I'm going to say that I don't think Britney loves herself very much at all and that's the root of the problem. I do think she is self-obsessed, but that's a different thing all together.

I never really had strong feelings for her one way or the other, but I too empathize with the pain and confusion she is under. I hope she can find her way to a healthier place - everyone will benefit if that happens.

That's how I see it as well. I think she has a serious case of self-loathing going on. And yes, she's very self-obsessed. Most people I've met who don't like themselves were the same.

I guess the latest I am reading is that she failed a recent court-ordered drug test. Her camp is screaming false-positive and saying it was thrown off because she's taking Provigil (I've no idea what that drug is used for). Of course, she's been on Provigil this whole time.

I have to say that I'm surprised this is the first one she has failed.

ETAs: Just looked up Provigil - it's a drug that keeps you awake and is used to treat narcolepsy and other excessive sleepiness. Also, it is being used by some MDs to treat cocaine and meth addicts. I guess it's a nonnarcotic stimulant. It is a Schedule IV controlled substance which may be a danger to people with addiction issues.

Last night on Leno they re-ran an episode with Brit, before Federline, before kids...it was a trip! He asked her if she thought she would ever get married, have kids, etc. She was so different than she is today. It was sad.

I never watch Leno, but I saw the beginning last nite and gagged mid-yawn when he said Britney would be on.
Then Leno started his monologue with Arnold being sworn in that day as governator and I realized it was an old show. :doh:

I haven't followed Britney's career much, though it's been kind of hard to miss her these past few years. It does sound like she is in obvious decline and it is heartbreaking to watch.

She and I were born on the same day (though not the same year!) - maybe that's why, embarrassing as it is to admit, I feel like I understand her on a certain level.

I hope something gets the attention of her heart before even more tragedies happen.

I was never a fan or anything although my oldest son LOVED her when he was about 13! LOL! Had posters of her which embarasses him now! In watching her last night (and I admit I was drowsy, half-asleep) she seemed charming, quite unassuming and basically kinda sweet, if a little ditsy. Hearing her say she hoped to be married by 24 and that of course, she loved children, and wanted them, etc. just seemed so sad in light of what is happening with her now. Jay asked her the age of the oldest man she'd ever dated was and she said "38." Jay joked, "Oh, c'mon, how about 53?" Also she performed on this show and she did have the dance moves, wow.

Apparently the drug test that she failed was actually an amphetamine drug which is not provigil... her camp is spin is now that it must have been the albuterol from the asthma inhalers she uses for weight loss..

K-Fed is requesting another emergency hearing to discuss her traffic incident ( requesting she not drive with the kids), the failed drug test and the late testings.. she apparently has been tardy in complying to 8 out of 14 tests that were ordered..

It can't be albuteral either, it's a coritco-steroid. (at the Britney camp spin) She flunked, probably because she had some kind of amphetamine, "to lose weight". yet again
