This is very familiar behavior to me, having spent 15 years being very close friends with someone with extreme bi-polar mania . Britney is ill and will need intervention to recover. She is in the grip of psychotic mania and truly believes the world revolves around her and that no matter what her behavior she can use her money and celebrity to "get her way". She does NOT listen to others, including the judge - she is deluded and "knows she is right". Poor Brit does not get that she may lose her children forever - it's because in HER REALITY that won't or can't happen. She thinks she can just breeze in there whenever and fix it all in a few minutes. She is NOT RATIONAL - but looks like she is - that's because in her mania she feels bulletproof - she is feeling totally confident, decisive and in control all the time - and that's what it looks like to us - that Brit is rationally deciding not to put her kids 1st - well she isn't - it's her mental illness we see, not a rational mother who is defying the court out of apathy of disinterest. Brit can no more accept (in her current state) that she is wrong and imperfect and ill, than you or I could accept that the sky is green and the sun shines purple and we all have blue skin. THAT'S how sick Britney is - she doesn't need her Mom to write a book or Dr Phil - she needs inpatient psychiatric care at a REAL hospital that specializes in MENTAL ILLNESS - not a "rehab". She isn't an addict, she is mentally ILL!
She is totally disconnected from the real world right now and living very much in the moment - and right now furniture is more pressing and urgent than her kids. She feels the boring and difficult court appearance can wait on her - especially since she doesn't accept that the results could be permanent. And frankly - she loves her kids but unless they are right in front of her and convenient - they don't exist for her. That's part of her disease. She is running from one thought to the next and one obsession to another at breakneck speed - and until she comes down and probably melts down (again), the loss of her children will not be "real" to her. She could care less about court dates - "those people" are not relevant to her in her current state - it's all about HER and HER furniture and HER needs and HER wants - she truly is not cognizant that she can be controlled by the courts - or ANYONE for that matter. She is mentally unstable and while she doesn't look or act "mentally ill" -she IS - and that is why none of US can look at her and her life and understand how she can act the way she is acting. It doesn't make sense to us because she is CRAZY right now - just not in a way that makes us turn away - like a schizophrenic talking to themselves or having obvious delusions. She is just as ill, we just can't see her type of "crazy" as clearly because she IS a celebrity and wealthy
and has been out of control for so long.
I pray one day (SOON) Brit will get help and after she is "better" and stable and in her right mind she is going to be appalled at this time in her life - and very very bothered by the person she became in front of the world.
I am so sad for Britney and I am praying for help for her SOON - before she hurts herself or WORSE.

We are both so. tis true. we can never hold our heads up high ever again. if my b/f knew why i had these earphones on and what i was watching . . . :crazy:
