All Things Britney Spears Part 6

I think I heard her doctor had been seeing the reports from the tabloids and her driving around all over town night and day and from that knew she was a danger to herself. Temporarily, at least, her doctors in conjunction with Sam Lufti, will be making the decisions, unless her family can convince a judge that Lufti is not in her best interests. If the judge determines that Lufti's decisions are not in Brit's best interests, the judge can then either determine that her family's input would be in her best interest or an impartial third party should be consulted.
It's just very hard in CA past the 72 hour hold.. Hopefully there will be something that can be done.

Parents to Sam: She's Ours Now

TMZ has learned Britney's parents have won round one in the tug of war with Sam Lutfi. We're told the doctors at UCLA are now "fully cooperating" with the parents in the treatment of Britney Spears, however, the war probably is not over until a judge signs an order as to who has control.

By the way, the men in white coats are giving props to LAPD's "SMART Unit" which specializes in mental health cases for coordinating the events that went down last night and early this morning.

UPDATE: Sam Lutfi left the hospital before 4:00 AM. Papa Jamie just left.

No kidding!!! I guess I'm hoping that she refuses the meds and is kept longer. I just don't know what 72 hours is supposed to do, when it may take the meds longer than that to kick in. If someone can reason with her, that may be the best thing, but she seems to be able to manipulate her way around pretty good. Now that it appears as if her parents have won the first round, she may be pissed off enough to start acting up.

I heard on the news this morning that it's reported she's been awake "for days"... no sleep. Just putting two and two together, with all her little short term hotel visits, I'm wondering if meth is involved?

She is apparently very calm and cooperating. HOpefully she will make the decision to stay herself . It's kind of funny because our local news is having non stop coverage on it. Big news here on the west coast.:bang:

As far as the driving, I've always thought that I have a lot in common with Britney:waitasec: I have been known to go for drives at odd hours of the night, in fact I spend at least a few hours a day driving around, hitting up Starbucks, and making other odd stops. Strange, but I can totally understand why she does this, the difference is I don't have paps following me 24/7. I do know that if I had her money and lack of responsibilities, I would probally spend all day driving around aimlessly:eek:

Since she's been taken involuntarily to the hospital, it appears that they are not going to wait until she kills herself. They can hold her for 72 hours, but they cannot force her to take meds. If she refuses, the doctor can ask for a court order to hold her for up to 14 days and then be FORCED to take the meds at that time.

Forced?? as in like held down, pry mouth open and make em swallow? YIKES! I'm not saying it's a "bad thing" just scary to think about someone forcing something down someone's throat!

Have no idea about the meth, what it does, signs etc. BUT i've always thought that if *I* had those big ole houses, I'd probably hole up at some fancy hotel too...I couldn't imagine being in some big ole house w/ just me & "the staff"...Loneliness, scariness, (Even though its guarded, how many times do we pics of someone taken through the windows etc? the thought of someone peeping in on me, famous of not, gives me the heebie jeebies lol) etc. Not disputing that other drugs could be involved, just another perspective/idea of maybe why all these people hole up in hotels when they have big, beautiful homes.....

I read that there was a motorcade as long as a football field of police as well as 2 police helicopters overhead....WTH?? Can someone please explain the purpose of ALL those people?

Yup. Forced if the judge so orders. I'm not sure if it would be down the throat or shot in the butt, but forced nonetheless! LOL Of course, I think the docs would have some serious convincing to do for the judge, but stranger things have happened.

The tabloid paps listen to the police/fire scanners and knew that they were headed her way. I believe most of the officers on motorcycles were for crowd control. I think the helicopters was a little bit much though. They knew they'd be scruitinized by the media, so I'm sure they didn't want to make a mistake.

They didn't want anymore pictures taken either with her from a news helicopter being taken from the house. I was also relieved to see the windows of the ambulance were covered and she was not able to be pictured in the garage at the hospital.

I've wondered if she feels trapped (for lack of a better word) staying home. With all the touring she'd done for years and going from place to place, she seems to have a hard time being in one place. How many homes has she bought and sold in the last few years? At least 3 or 4. And the trips to hotels. I get the feeling she just doesn't know how to relax and be home. She's never really had to do that much for many years. Now she has nothing going on and can't stand it.

Yeah, in addition, I wonder if she doesn't run also from memories. The hurt. :(

That could be too.

I pray she gets the help she so desperately needs - finally.

It is a vicious circle - she worked so hard as a youngster, and was talented. Was it the fame? adoration? lack of adoration? Too much success too soon? We (generally speaking) make these people idols, the major networks for months giving daily Brit updates, the comics making horrible jokes about her...This is so serious.

This mental health business is a mess. A young friend of mine got caught up in bad doctoring and was given so many doses of so many different drugs, not waiting until the last one was out of her system. Finally, when her insurance was running out a nurse (bless her soul) gave her a paper with two doctor's names and begged her to see one of them immediately. She did and was put in the hospital on mo meds for a week. I was on her phone list and she would call and cry endlessly, for hours. They put her on the lowest dose of a medication that fortunately worked for her.

Running in the circle of friends that some of these young people do, the money they have at their disposal to obtain who knows what - it scares the hell out of me. I so hope she ends up being treated by someone with her best interests. She is a person, a mother, a daughter, a sister - many things - before she is a star. She has enough money already if they can save her.

Our news reported that the FAA cleared some airspace when they brought her in last night.

Our news is saying they really want to keep her in the ward so they can give her the bi polar meds regularly and see if they work. At this point she reportedly takes them on her whim.
Now if the meds work, it would be very difficult to declare her incompetent,IMO.

Up until now, I've had it up to here with the Brittney stories. I can honestly say today that I hope this girl gets better. Part of me feels sorry for her and part of me doesn't. I don't know if that's mean or not. For the sake of her two precious baby boys, I hope she gets better.....
