Up until now, I've had it up to here with the Brittney stories. I can honestly say today that I hope this girl gets better. Part of me feels sorry for her and part of me doesn't. I don't know if that's mean or not. For the sake of her two precious baby boys, I hope she gets better.....

I know exactly what you're saying. I've moved to feeling completely sorry for her though, will think only positive for her and her family from now on. This is life and death, not fun and games. I know I get that.

Me too darlin!!! Hopefully a judge will make the right decision here. I understand her family and Sam Lufti are fighting over who should make the decisions on Britney's behalf. I'd like the court to name a guardian for her to make recommendations to the court. We shall see!
I wish the court would assign a social worker to her to overlook some of her medical concerns. I don't think either Lufti or her family have her best interest at heart. I think they look at her as a cash cow. It is sad, but I believe it to be true. :(

All I know is that if the papparazzi does not quit hounding Brittney, there is going to be another Princess Di scandal on their hands.

The press need to leave the girl alone! Let her make her mistakes without showing the whole world every single one of them.

Yes, Brittney needs help. Let her get her help in peace.

Thanks for the clarification, Jeana.

This is good news for Brit.

What worries me is that Brit is so angry at her parents right now I'm not sure how much she would work with them to get help. If they're one of her triggers, they could work against what her doctors are trying to do. If Lufti is the [link removed] we all think he is, he shouldn't be involved. So, maybe the court will decide that someone else should step in and may appoint someone to do so.

I agree. The issue with her dad appears to be her 5150 a few weeks ago. The issue with her mom appears to be that Brit is accusing her of sleeping with KFed. During her ranting last night about that, she was quoted as referring to KFed as her boyfriend rather than ex-husband. Lufti needs to be out of the picture and I hope the court will step up and appoint someone.

Britney accused her mother of sleeping with KFED?

Can someone please tell me - is Britney in the hospital now voluntarily, or by order of the psychiatrist or order of the Court?

Britney accused her mother of sleeping with KFED?

Yep. That's why she quit talking to her. It's something both KFed and her mom have denied. They are reportedly close, but not that close.

ETA: "In Britney's mind, she's convinced her mother, Lynne, at one point had a sexual relationship with Kevin Federline."

That (amongst other things) has been the cause of much of the strain between Lynne Spears and her daughter.

That's off Perez Hilton's website, though I have read that other places as well. (Just knew where to find it there).

From my understanding, she went voluntarily, but is being held by order of the court.

ETA: "She went willingly. It was like something in her heart was telling her she should go. She knew something was wrong,"

I don't buy that either.

The law states that a psychiatrist can put a 72-hour hold on a patient that the doctor deems to be in danger of hurting her/himself or others. If the patient seems rational enough before the end of the 72-hours, they can release the patient, but they don't have to. However, if the patient refuses to cooperate or if they deem the patient to still be a danger to herself, the patient THEN has the right to legal representation and the patient has the right to a hearing before a judge, wherein the doctor must convince the judge of their position. If the judge agrees with the doctor, the judge can then order that the patient be held for up to 14 days and be forced to take the medication prescribed by the doctor. It would then be a court matter and would continue on as the judge deems necessary, but the patient would have legal rights.

Thank you Jules & Jeana!

I don't know about you guys, but I would think a Court would want a whole lot more than what the Psychiatrist based his 72 hr decision on (tabloids & driving around day & night). They take these applications very seriously.

There are millions of people walking around with mental illness. Families are beating their heads against the wall trying to get their loved ones medical care. The Courts are reluctant to interfere unless there are dire circumstances.

If Britney takes her meds and this psychiatrist is good there might be some hope that she follows through with this. I sure hope so.

Now I just had breaking news that brit was taken to the hospital this morning again. They said it was an intervention on behalf of her family because she has not slept since saturday!

I just read this on Google and thought it was old news! She is desperate for attention, worse than Paris Hilton. Let's hope they keep her for along time this time, like months and she gets the medical help she needs!

Can't her parents have her declared mentally incompetent and gather the durable power of attorney for healthcare for her???

If it's true that Britney accused her mom of sleeping with Federline I'll bet there is lots more to the story than the press and public have been told. Britney must have had lots of extreme symptoms and it sounds like even psychosis.

Well they would have to be able to prove to a court that she is mentally incompetent. Since she's basically refused to have anything to do with them, I seriously doubt that it would be possible. From what is being reported, her attorneys (who have had lots to do with her recently), along with friends, family and even Adnan and Sam worked together (each for their own reasons, I'm sure), to get her in the door of the hospital. From here, its going to be up to the doctors and the courts.

I am not sure I want her parents to have POA. I think she would be better suited with a medical representative that has no vested interest in her money or her ability to make money for them. I am through trusting her parents. Her parents had a long while to do the right thing. I am not buying that this bipolar situation just occurred. I think she has had it all along..but no one wanted to stop her for long enough to get her help. After all, if she was getting treatment, then she couldn't work and bring in the big buck for her mother. JMO

It's interesting how driving around has always been her release when having a bad episode. For a very long time now. Over a year. Is that a common symptom, or unique just to her?

CarpeDiem - that's a great observation. I actually know quite a few folks (some mentally healthy, some not so much) who drive to decompress.
