Well the good news is that there is life after an episode like this. She may have to face the fact that her life shouldn't be lived in the spotlight - who knows. I can't imagine the pressure that someone living before the cameras could face day after day. I believe that with the right therapy and meds, she could be healthy. I hope that this is not too far off.

Britney Treated By 'Caring, Concerned' Therapist

The psychiatrist who hospitalized Britney Spears is a highly respected therapist known for her compassion, a former colleague tells PEOPLE.

"She's an excellent clinician and an excellent psychiatrist," says Harold Young, the clinical director at the Maple Counseling Center in Beverly Hills, where Spears's psychiatrist Dr. Deborah Nadel worked for about five years.

Spears chose Nadel from a list of doctors recommended by her lawyers, a source says.

Paparazzo quits in protest at Britney 'hounding'

When paparazzi have a crisis of conscience over the wellbeing of their celebrity prey, events have clearly reached a serious level. So it is with Britney Spears, the troubled pop star and America's favourite tabloid fodder, who was back under psychiatric evaluation in a Los Angeles hospital last night after the latest in a series of highly publicised meltdowns.

As the singer's family and manager bickered over the right to direct her treatment after a court-ordered commitment into mental health care, a British photographer who has quit the chasing media pack warned the hounding could kill her.

Nick Stern has resigned from Splash, a Los Angeles-based, British-owned celebrity picture agency, in protest at the "aggressive" tactics employed in pursuing Spears, and predicted tragedy.
"Directly or indirectly, Britney is going to come to some horrific end, or a member of the public will," he said. "It's not what's being done, it's the way it's being done. As she continues to deteriorate psychologically, I just can't see a positive way out."

The biggest threat, Stern said, came from the high-speed convoy of photographers' cars and motorcycles that follow Spears' every move through Los Angeles. The pursuit reached a new frenzy in the early hours of yesterday when the paparazzi tailed an ambulance and police escort taking the 26-year-old singer to hospital for the second time this month.

Here is the part I don't get, The pursuit reached a new frenzy in the early hours of yesterday when the paparazzi tailed an ambulance and police escort taking the 26-year-old singer to hospital for the second time this month.

Was the police escort really necessary? Or even the ambulance? Why add to the attention. I realize Britney has major problems, but IMO, she played the media for all she could. Sick or not sick.

I'm not sticking up for the paparazzi. I think they should of stopped following her around a long time ago.

I so agree with your post. Last night hubby and I went out to eat and they had a big screen tv on above us. I noticed all the police and an ambulance. I had no idea what happened until I read the caption. I thought, WOW, a police escort for Britt.. talk about ATTENTION.. So it brought me here to find out what is up AGAIN with her.

If she would TONE IT DOWN, I bet some of these paparazzi would start to back off some. She, IMO, is asking for the attention. The way she dresses while out in public and the way she has been acting. I get the fact that being a high profile celeb is going to cause the paparazzi to start clicking away, but look at some of the other celebs who are lower key, they don't get all the drama.

If that were me, I'd cover up and go someplace to hide out and I'd forget all the photo shoots, music, shows etc and just spend some time taking care of myself. Heck, she has the money..

Paperdoll... but she THRIVES on the attention. She is so lonely, depressed, no friends, too much money and no happiness. Add ADD/Bi-polar/Meth/etc. on top of that and you have a ticking time bomb.

Jamie and Lynne Spears are going to the County courthouse in downtown L.A. Sources say both parents are extremely concerned about the welfare of their daughter and upset because Sam Lutfi is trying to call the shots on all matters Britney.

The court has the power to create a conservatorship, which would allow both Jamie and Lynne to make medical decisions on behalf of Britney. The conservatorship would also allow them to control Britney's financial affairs. Both parents have made it clear: they believe Lutfi and Adnan Ghalib are squandering Brit's assets.

We're in court, so stay tuned. The hearing is scheduled to begin around 11:15 AM.

Can't wait to hear the outcome of the hearing.
With the bazillions she's earned, surly Brit has a POA.

That won't be easy, but I sure hope they can get power away from Sam. It's also good to see these parents, though living lives separate from eachother, are a team where their child is concerned. Prayer's for them and Britney!

I believe you are thinking of Jessica Alba. They look similar.

Therein lays another problem. If she did the paperwork on a POA, was she competent at the time?

An addition to the above:

Jamie and Lynne want an independent co-conservator appointed — someone unrelated to the family — to avoid even an appearance they are interested in spending Britney's money.

Good for them that is exactly what they should be doing. I hope she finally gets the help she truly needs, without people taking advantage of the situation.
