All Things Britney Spears - Thread No. 8

http://www.tmz.com/2008/02/11/court-documents-released-in-brit-case/

Jamie Spears accused Howard Grossman of trying to "circumvent" the conservatorship by doing all sorts of things, including violating orders by setting up a meeting with Brit and another lawyer, and sending her a Mercedes.

Take a look at the documents and how it all went down.

Talk about betrayal. Every person Britney surrounded herself with wanted a piece of the action. Howard Grossman was her manager and now he's a friend of Sam Lufti and circumvented the conservatorship. These people were all greedy to the detriment of Britney's health. Sam Lufti had the nerve to call Jaime and Lynne "hillbillies" in a derrogatory manner. As parents they have gone through heartwrenching turmoil to get their daughter the psychiatric help she needs. It can't be easy living with Britney right now. We know Britney is still talking in her weird English accent. I hope Jaime has all the help and support he needs to help his daughter.

You know what I thought was interesting in the documents. was the statement that the Feb 14th hearing is regarding appointing permanent conservatorship and not extending the temporary one.

What's scary about the level of betrayal, and it seems like it involved everyone around Brit, is what was the motivation? While Lufti seems to have severe control issues, money is behind his actions as well. The rest of them would probably be money. It will be interesting when the dust settles to see how much money was stolen from Brit.

As if Brit isn't going to have enough to deal with already, I'm going to guess she'll have serious trust issues for years to come when she realizes what went down.

Me too, deanws - a lot of it. Here's hoping that we've seen her bottom. I'd prefer her rise back up be in privacy. She needs some genuine alone time.
100% agree. I was looking back at some pictures AOL had on her from the beginnig of her Mouse days to present. :( Made me want to cry. If anything, maybe this will put "metal illness" on the front page for a while and others may recognize the signs in their own loved ones, and seek help.

Wow, I guess she is really getting it together. After the pics of her at the dance studio this weekend - ripped beyond belief hose, etc., this news worried me. However, in pics of her from yesterday she looked good, new hose, new boots, looked clean and put together. I don't think I'd be putting my kids in her class yet, but she certainly seems to be making progress. Good for her. She's going to make it back from the abyss, that's a wonderful thing.

What is the deal with those "hose" she wears!?!?! :bang: She has such pretty legs...why cover them up with hose?

I think it's a dancer's thing. I'm all for that, but the ripped is a bit much. I'm not to into grunge though.

Brit on Saturday: http://photo.wenn.com/index.php?action=pop&id=2891121&session_id=mosvdp4m5dl6itu36cq0pe28q4

She's been wearing those ripped one's for months, the holes kept growing, LOL. For her to ditch them is a big move for Brit.

I am so glad she's making progress and it must make Jaime very happy to see Britney is getting better Carpe Diem.
SusieQ that is interesting about permanent conservatorship. I remember Jaime saying that he will be happy to let Britney take over all her affairs when she is ready. This gives Britney a window of time to recover.

If what's been reported is so, then he doesn't care, does he?

I'm sorry Floh. I can't guess what he's thinking. I was just trying to let ya'll know that its not his decision to make. I'd hate for Kevin to have to explain to a judge why he went against an Order.

Sorry, I DO NOT BELIEVE this for a second.

I don't either. He's play by the rules this whole time with the custody order. I don't think his lawyer would allow him to do this either.

I hope I can put this in a way that I don't get torn apart again.

I also hope this helps people with mental illness who have had worse childhoods than Britney has ever dreamed of, to stop having dogs sicced on them, being tasered, beaten, and even shot or tasered to death.

You don't see people saying how sorry they feel for them. How they are not responsible for anything they do wrong. They don't get escorts to mental institutions, they get escorts to jail.

While I hope Britney can get well and be the cool person she used to be, I hope we as a nation start caring for the nameless, faceless ones no one cares about and just want to get rid of.

I can definately feel for her. I suffer from depression and anxiety. I am intelligent, I come off as confident and compendent. I recently went off one of anti anxiety meds and went straight into alchoholism. My new trucks engine blew and my cat I had spent $500 at the vet for died, my sister in law od'ed, my aunt is expected to die anytime and my dogs ear infection cost me $180, on top of all that I have run out of money basically. Today I told my boyfriend I just wanted to give what money was left away and take an overdose of pills. I am tired of trying. He made me try. He made me know he was going to be there to help. But at this point anyone would think I am a crazy woman crying all the time and reacting abnormal. When I went to a very nice place for rehab for alcohol There were so many people I didn't get fed. I have bloood pressure problems and they ignored it. I heard one nurse say when I was checking out "Thank God she's gone". Another said "You're out of detox, your blood pressure is high and with your chest pain you should go to the er when you leave," No one really cares.

(((((becklynn)))) Please don't ever give up. No matter how bad things are now, your next day may dawn with better circumstances and hope. I care about you! And everyone reading your post does also.

We must start putting more care into the basic needs of our citizens. All of them. I will pray for you becklynn ( if that's ok) and for all of us to have more hope. I'm sorry Britney has gone through this, but maybe it will help to get people more involved with helping each other. I think Britney is the sort of person who will be happy about that when she is able.

{{becklynn}} -Hugs- I am so sorry things have gotten this bad for you but please, please do not give up! People do care about you, I know us here at WS do and obviously your boyfriend does!

As awful as what you are going through is, what is happening right now will not be going on forever, I promise you, this too shall pass! Once you make it through this and come out on the other side, You will have made it for the first time without the help of the anxiety medication and that will be a huge accomplishment for you!

The amount of pride you will feel will be an amazing thing. You will come out of this a stronger and more self-assured woman! Please, becklynn, give yourself this chance, do not allow this illness to win!!!

Thank you for this post, I agree with you!! Society needs to begin having no choice but to look us in the eye because we're certainly not going away anytime soon!

Thanks Montana and One Lost Girl. I just wanted to state how bad things can spiral out of control until you get to a breaking point. I can have sympathy for Britney because I see that happened to her. I am up and ready to fight for another day until I get thru this. And yes, I would appreciate prayers.:)

Thanks to everyone for their posts this morning. Don't ever give up. Just keep putting one foot in front of the other.

What makes me angry is when government funds are cut, mental health is the first one targeted.

When I saw this...all I can say is WTF?
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/23132089/?GT1=10856

Britney Spears, who has been spotted in recent days wearing tattered fishnets at Los Angeles' Millennium Dance Complex, is reportedly preparing to embark on a new world tour. (more at link)

http://www.tmz.com/2008/02/13/commish-to-brits-lawyers-protect-or-serve/

Britney Spears' lawyers made it clear today in court: they want out. But it ain't that easy.

After meeting privately in chambers with Commissioner Scott Gordon, the matter was continued to Feb. 19. But here's what we know: the Commish wants to make sure when Trope and Trope says sayonara, someone has to be in place to handle the case. We're told the Commish wants Trope and Trope to come back with a plan and wants to know specifically who's coming in.

As we first reported, Britney secretly met with disso queen Laura Wasser, who represented her during the divorce, but quit Brit a few months back.
