All Things Britney Spears - Thread No. 8

If you go to TMZ they are going to have a press conference about this. Why on God's green Earth does there need to be PS on a private family matter?!?

LOL...no elephant but in most child custody cases everyone involved wants things kept under wraps for the kids sake. I am guessing here but I think he lets out all the tidbits about Britney that aren't captured by the paps. He does a great job at making his client look like a saint.

Gotcha...thanks for your patience :)

Yup, good point. I have to say that I am a gossip junkie, but I have drawn the line lately. I used to get all the scandal rags (US weekly, Life & Style, etc...), but I absolutely refuse to purchase anything that has innocent children exploited on the cover. To be honest, since I first noticed those boys on the cover of these rags (I think it was last July), I probably have only bought 3-4 of these magazines in total. I used to buy 3-4 a week. I think many of these employees have sold their soul to get a paycheck from these children on the cover of a gossip rag.

I also will not watch TMZ, since they were blatantly BAITING a star who was simply having his car cleaned and is known to dislike the paps. When stars come out of The Ivy - have at 'em. Leave them alone at the car wash :furious:

One gossip junkie to another.:blowkiss:

Some will say we are part of the problem though but that is another story for another thread.

I don't feel the need to know about a custody arrangement that does not concern my own children.

:blowkiss: back atcha!!
Is it impossible to genuinely care? I am asking myself, because I really want to say that I am genuinely concerned that this family 'gets it together'.
Do I need to know? Nope. Is it my right? Hells no. But I do find myself wanting to know, and I can sleep at night knowing that I truly want good things for them all.

It's not the same as me wanting good things for my sister, but you get my drift.

And the irony of it all is Britney is paying KFed's lawyer too.

I feel the same. Everytime I see the picture of those two little boys sitting in the back seat of her car holding hands..oh I could just cry.

I hear you, but I really think they will be fine. It's just sad that unlike any non-famous family, the media will be parading their mother's dark time on a loop for them when they get older.
They've witnessed too much in their young lives, I think and it's sad they will never be allowed to forget it.

But it is not too late for these kiddies. This really crazy spell is less than a year old and if everyone moves in the right direction and doesn't look back, it can be contained as a very rough but SHORT time for all concerned.

I agree Brefire....great post. I want those little boys to have a chance in life. They are so adorable. I have a soft spot for kids. I guess it is the teacher in me. :(

See, we don't need new laws to take care of the paps. All LE needed to do was enforce the laws already on the books!

http://www.cnn.com/2008/SHOWBIZ/02/20/britney.ap/index.html

Sheriff's deputies arrested two cameramen photographing Britney Spears at a hair salon and two other photographers outside a trendy nightclub in a crackdown that follows a year of frenzied paparazzi swarms around the troubled pop star and other celebrities.
Two of four photographers arrested Wednesday were photographing Britney Spears.
All four men were arrested for misdemeanor violations of obstructing a public walkway and released with citations, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department spokesman Steve Whitmore said Wednesday.
Photographers David Tonnessen and Christian Shostoe were arrested around 7:50 p.m. Tuesday in front of West Hollywood's B2V Hair Salon, where 50 paparazzi tried to get shots of Spears, Whitmore said.
The two men did not comply with deputies' requests, Whitmore said. (more at link)

"They were repeatedly asked to disassemble in front of the entrances and they were obstructing traffic as well, going into the street," he said.

I am so glad to read this. Thank you for posting, SuziQ!

Seems like they were ignoring the police, though. Clearly they have no fear of a ticket when the photos sell for so much.

I am really pleased to hear the cops enforcing these laws. Perhaps they will up the ante if and when they need to.

Many of these so-called "photographers" are actually current or former gang members and former criminals, so I am not surprised that they typically ignore the police.

http://www.tmz.com/2008/02/20/lutfi-drug-probe-full-steam-ahead/

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ the LAPD investigation into Sam Lutfi allegedly drugging Britney Spears is well underway.

We're told the case has now been assigned to Robbery Homicide, primarily because of the sensitive nature of the allegations and the intense media interest in Britney Spears. Sources say investigators have interviewed several witnesses regarding the drugs in Brit's system at the time she was most recently committed.

We're told the investigation had been temporarily derailed because of the death of an LAPD SWAT officer, but it's now back on track.

One source says the investigation will probably be concluded in late March.

I have heard that before, thanks for bringing that up, I had forgotten. This hairdresser thing really bothers me. It should be absolutely illegal to sell or publish an image of ANYONE in a privately owned place without express permission of owner and or subject. I don't care if the lensperson is on a public sidewalk.

Humpf!

Police deny claims Britney was drugged by her manager

Police today insisted they are not investigating claims Britney Spears was drugged by her former manager Sam Lutfi, despite reports robbery and homicide officers are on the case.
U.S. websites reported an investigation is "well underway" and has been assigned to Robbery Homicide because of the sensitive nature of the allegations.
But LAPD Media Relations representative Richard French dismissed the stories. He said: "There is no investigation into Sam allegedly medicating Britney."

Was kind of looking forward to hearing the findings of this so called non-existent investigation.

I really am willing Brit and the family to get out of that shambles of a life she was leading. I know plenty of people dog her parents, but I really applaud them for walking in and just saying, "Guess what honey? You can just continue to hate us while we get you better"

I really hope it's working, it does seem like it is!!

Why hasn't this horrible stalker been served by an LA sheriff? Why isn't he being investigated about giving drugs to Britney when he told the parents he gave her pills to mellow her out or lift her spirits? He was questioned about things that were stolen from her home? What has happened on that? He has been behind the scenes trying to get control of Britney's conservatorship by getting a lawyer to try to get the federal courts take it over. He's on a power trip and I see nothing but trouble in the Spears lives until they can get him to stop harassing them. I've got to say that Britney has settled down some but she is still exhibiting weird behavior. She is still not wearing underwear and speaking in her English accent. I think right now she could slip right back into her old self-destructive ways. I hope she has more time to stabilize and that Sam Lufti becomes history in her life. He has been such a bad influence on Britney.

This guy does realize he's living in Los Angeles doesn't he? A place where celebs can't take out their garbage without creating a frenzy with paps. Stay home? Why not have his department enforce the law? IMO, they haven't for years and it's gotten outta hand. From the below link:

http://www.tmz.com/2008/02/22/lapd-chief-to-airhead-brit-stay-the-fand-home/

LAPD chief William Bratton has the secret to solving the "paparazzi problem" in Los Angeles -- lock Britney Spears in her house! Who would be against that?
The chief was on with Patt Morrison on KPCC radio Wednesday when he was asked about proposed legislation designed to curb the paparazzi. Check out his response.
