All Things Dick Cheney

Hey, no one else has volunteered yet so I will. Let me see if I can do this right. Ahem...

"Obviously, the Police Chief is in cahoots with the Secret Service (or not in cahoots, but lost the coin toss). He was wrestled to the ground when he WANTED to do the right thing and report this shooting as Attempted Murder of a friend and hunting buddy in front of a few other witnesses (by bird shot, no less), but the Secret Service "convinced him otherwise" and that it would be to his future career advantage to submit false documentation in the case against the VP of the U.S. The offer of Halliburton stock and free gas fill-ups for life added to to sweetness of the cover-up activities. It was only after the Chief, along with the assistance of Captain Kirk (!) were able to negotiate free gas for the rest of all other LE officers with knowledge of the Attempted Murder, that the revised facts were determined. And although most cover-up attempts by the SS/FBI/etc would be well thought-out to ensure all were on "the same page," they elected NOT to do that this time. They WANTED misinformation and conflicting information presented to the media to report, 24/7. "

There. I have tried the shoe on the other foot. Not sure if it fits.

DD,

I am really disappointed. All this time you have been acting like a conservative and then you come up with this. Only a real lib could come up with something that far fetched to explain a simple thing. :D

WAIT WAIT WAIT, that's it. That explains the liberal arguments most of the time. It is like that test I was given in high school with the weird psychology teacher. He stood in front of his desk and knocked a pencil off. He told us to write an essay describing the event that took place. Some people wrote about the physiology of his body and this bone's connected to that bone and so on. Some people wrote about Newton and gravity. I wrote "You purposefully knocked a pencil off the desk with the obvious intention of spurring some philosophical debate about the event. I highly suspect the assignment is a cleverly designed ploy to avoid having to teach this class Max Wertheimer's theory of apparent motion after a long night of drinking". I received an A. He was a cool teacher and I enjoyed that class immensely.

I think the major disconnect with liberal arguments is that nothing can be explained simply. Derelicts are just lazy bums, they are victims of this or that. Criminals aren't evil, they just are lashing out at an unfair system. Cheney couldn't possibly have shot his friend (who was partially at fault) because of a mutual mistake, there must be an elaborate coverup of the fact that area 51's lease is running out and Cheney wanted to bury the story. :D

I had some scrupples left - I was NOT going to leak the Area 51 info, as some things need to wait until JUST before the elections, ya know :banghead:

You were a challenge to your parents, weren't you?!?!?! And thanks for the laugh - I can totally see you doing that, and I'm sure the teacher was never the same after you...

Nah, I was literally the perfect child....somehow, I know it is hard to believe for even me! :D I led my forth grade class in the the anti-Carter revolt during the school's mock election because his gas crisis made my mom wait in long lines at the gas pump and that cut into our after-school outside time. No, I am not kidding.

That was a cool teacher and I loved going to his class. Perhaps that is where I learned to argue so much!?! Or it might just be genetic. :D

I mean, REALLY now, it's actually being touted as a coverup because Mr. Whittington doesn't want pictures of his wounds in the paper? I am just
  sometimes.

As to the above, this coverup has nothing to do with pictures of the victim. It has to do with the fact that an "employee" elected by the citizens did not get an explanation from that person until days after the fact. He would not even speak to his "boss" until two days after the incident. Gotta have some extra time to spin! Anybody else would have been investigated that very evening and the investigation would likely still be going on.

By the way, it does matter how much bird shot was in Whittington. If it appears to be more than just one "shot" from the gun, that means Cheney gave it to him with both barrels or shot twice.

The Cheney Fallout (Four Pages)

So all the people who don't like Vice President Cheney or Fox say it was a terrible interview and how dare he talk only to Brit, and all the people who like Cheney and Fox say it was a perfectly good interview and why doesn't the angry and petulant press corps get off the veep's back over this regrettable accident?

No surprise there.

President Bush came out yesterday and said that his No. 2 handled the aftermath just fine.

No surprise there.

You're exactly right and I think that's the problem. I think Cheney should shoot someone once a week. Then maybe we wouldn't have to listed to all the stupid b.s. that we've been dealing with all week. :)

shouldn't have to deal with it much longer...it'll die down to a degree...it's like the political science professor from Wisconsin said.....

"If it turns out that Scooter Libby is now willing to testify that he got directions from the vice president to leak the name of a CIA agent, that's a far more serious issue and damaging to Cheney."

"That other scandal is the one worth watching," he said.

Cheney's Secret Powers

Toward the end of an interview that was primarily about his accidental shooting of a hunting buddy, Vice President Cheney on Wednesday made a blunt but possibly unjustified assertion about his power to declassify government secrets. Then he clammed up.

From the transcript of Cheney's interview with Fox News's Brit Hume:

Hume: "Let me ask you another question. Is it your view that a Vice President has the authority to declassify information?"

Cheney: "There is an executive order to that effect."

Hume: "There is."

Cheney: "Yes."

We "rabid dogs" are salivating over that one!!

Buzz, do you know if there really is an executive order to that effect? Would that be a new order or one set out by the constitution or some ammendment to it?

Scandi, the clamor is all about this administration seeming to make up their own laws/orders/authority on the fly. Cheney made this statement, right on the heels of the hullabaloo about GWB stretching his own authority to wiretap at his discretion.

Cheney is attempting to lay the groundwork to cover his own 🤬🤬* on the upcoming trial of his assistant, Libby

It gets worse.....that pompous a$$ had the nerve--when release from the hospital--to go stand out front and continue this charade when he said that accidents will happen. Here's the link....looks pretty good for someone who almost had to have a pumpkin installed :D :D http://www.foxnews.com/

It is clear to me that he is alluding to some unfortunate event where Hiilary or one of the top Democrats will have an 'accident'. I think that someone in the GOP will slice the brake lines of one of the Dems cars and make it look like them careening off a cliff was an accident.

This co-consirator agreed to take a load from Cheney (last time it was Clinton, but who's counting?:D) in the head, spend a week in the hospital, and almost die so that he could come out on national TV and issue the veiled threat.

Call the special prosecutor, let's bring em all up on conspiracy to commit murder charges!

On a side note wailing and gnashing of teeth were heard across the land from Democratic chambers in the State Senates when word that Harry was released from the hospital to his wife instead of a hearse. Maybe next time, someone will be DOA and the Dems can dance the dance.

Thanks Buzz,

I saw another cute 'funny' about the shooting fiasco on Jay Leno last night. He put his hand up around his mouth like he was talking through a megaphone. "Hey, SS over here! Over here, Over here! Hey Dick I see a quail over here!"

It does lose something in my translation of the joke! LOL, but I laughed so hard!

more humor... I apologize if this has been posted already... too many pages to check!

All of the comedians are getting almost unlimited mileage out of this. Their jokes are so funny, and there doesn't seem to be any end to them.
