All Things Heath Ledger - Thread No. 2

If that was 2006, he may have been off of it by now, or have been trying to get off it - maybe that's why he had trouble sleeping and was taking so many sleeping pills.

Smoking alot of pot and I'm sure cocaine can really mess up the brain chemicals; and he probably needed a darned good psychiatrist familiar with pharmaceuticals to get his sleep patterns back to normal.

Also, staying up late and partying alot is the WORST thing to do if you can't sleep regularly. Everything gets out of whack.

The Psychiatrist would have looked at ALL his drugs and told him what to take when and NOT TO MIX with what else; proper dosages included. It sounds like he had gotten alot of different prescriptions from alot of places, ALL DEPRESSANTS, and he took too much. Sometimes you can forget what you've taken, you sleepily reach out and take another one. VERY DANGEROUS!!!

Prescription drugs, not used properly, can be just as dangerous as illegal ones, IMO.

Very true. Good post.

That video was probably taken in January '06 because he says in it that Matilda was 3 mos. She was born October 28/05. Michelle and Matilda were in that same hotel the nite he was filmed. She obviously saw him after that party. They didn't split until last September ('07) so you'd think he might have subsequently tried to kick the habit for her to stay so long.

He's been struggling imo and not being with Matilda at Christmas affected him deeply. So, depression, addiction, prescription drugs and all these intense roles he's had? A recipe for disaster.

I agree with you about the forgetfulness. In fact I just posted something similar on another thread. Easy to do.

Obviously, he was trying to give it up for his wife and child; he had a conscience (he felt guilty); but I get the idea he wanted to "fit in with the guys", or whatever. He was experiencing newfound career success; overwhelming for a shy guy from Australia.

Obviously conflicted, not quite sure what was important to him. Obviously he had this child out of wedlock; maybe before he was ready.

He was about to rocket to success. (Academy Award Nom.). He was 26 - not grown up at all.

I wish they wouldn't show this; let him rest in peace.

True.I have not seen the vid but Heath may have been off the drugs and trying to cope before his death. It would not be hard to just take pills to cope. Also that video was a while ago..Waiting for the tox results eagerly.

I agree with you, MarthaTex. Let him rest in peace. :(

It is. I'm glad we've had this place to discuss it. Time to let it go, for them. Peace to All.

dingo, you are so sweet. I'm afraid I would fail at "not being quick to judge". I'm learning to do better here though.

I think you have a great attitude on life my freind Taximom and your posts always enlighten me.:blowkiss: .

I do believe Heath was one of the good guys and not just because he was Aussie.....the rags are digging on him but there are few that can find anything hateful or disgusting to say about him...all in all I think our boy was a troubled yet beautiful young soul who may have had demons haunting him.......All I can say is rest in peace Heath and say hello to Steve and Brockie for us will you mate:blowkiss:

Although there are strong drug allegations regarding Heath, in all my reading about him, one thing shines through...and that is that he was a gentle soul.Maybe flawed and definetly chasing demons but a good guy. I read a really great interview with him that was in Melbournes Good Weekend Mag.It is the best written article I have read.A lot of stuff I have read is just heresay ..
To see him in Brokeback Mountain is heartbreaking...I just cannot watch that film at the moment. It must be just sooo hard for his family.
Just a bit of trivia..Heath had letters tattooed on his wrist...these were the letters of his sisters names. I think he was very close to his family and loved them a lot. But I also think he was lonely and missed home...I have read that he lived in a part of New York that had heaps of Aussies and liked to chat to them about home.
I hope THe Imaginarium of DR Parnassus is made with him still in his scenes..I believe it is what he would want Terry Gilliam to do...continue on.

If it was a combination of drugs that did him in, so sad, so young.
For the life of me, don't know why people do them....:waitasec:

This whole story of Heath Ledger's death is so very sad. This is my first comment in regards to it.
This was a talented young man, who had the world at this fingertips and just think about all that involves. It would be difficult for any of us to handle. And he was still so young! Plus he was an addict.
I have a young son myself that has been through hell and back with drug addiction. This boy is the most intelligent, sweetest kid, with a heart of gold that you would ever meet. His father, my ex, had addicitons also. It isn't something one plans to have to deal with in life. It grabs hold of you!
I know that my son would be the first to help a person in need. I think this young man, Heath Ledger was the same way.

I hate seeing all the gossip on the tv now, and I think it's commendable that ET and Inside Edition are not going to air the video.
I'm sure Heath's parents were proud of him, loved him and their grief is killing them now. And I'm sure it hurts like hell to hear and see all of the vicious stories floating around. If he was an addict, God bless his soul. We all have our demons, and those of us that don't have such a fight, should thank God every day.
I keep Heath's parents, family and friends in my thoughts and prayers.
We all want peace in our lives. For some it's hard to get there.

Hi Sweet!:blowkiss: I am so sorry to hear about your son and his addiction. I hope he is well. I have known many addicts (including my younger brother who died of an overdose) and each one has had a huge heart. It's so very very sad. I just wish there were no drugs. Best wishes to you and your son!

Ahh, jilly thank you so much. :blowkiss:
He is doing well now. He just doesn't " have a life ". He goes to work, comes home and that's it. He still doesn't trust his self to go out any where.
He seems to be punishing himself. He was in college, the college where he'd wanted to go since he was a 2nd grader. He had academic and sports scholorships! He got in with the wrong bunch, and he paid big time!A bad wreck , DWI, ,long hospitalization, totaled his car! Very ashamed of him self... he hit rock bottom.
He did go into rehab for 9 weeks. It helped get him off everything, but now he has no light within him, know what I mean? He seems depressed to me, but denies that he is.
I just grieve for what he could have done, still could do for that matter, but he has lost his motivation and his confidence!
Sorry for o/t.
Thanks for caring, jilly!

((sweetmop)) ((sweetmops' brother))

I hope he finds the light soon.
