I don't think the question is whether or not it takes the focus off finding Haleigh, because if it were discovered to be true that she was being abused, then that could be a clue to finding out what happened to her.

I think the real question is only how convincing the evidence is. We can analyze and speculate, but really can't know for sure, since we haven't heard it all.

Thats very true. But why put it on national tv and the newspapers. Why not goto the people in charge of investication of Haleigh. It just doesnt make sense to me.

Regarding Haleigh's unexcused absences:

How it works at my kids' school is they get 5 *freebies*-- days they're allowed to be absent without a doctor's excuse. The parent still has to send in a note with a good reason as to why the child was out. The only acceptable excuses are illness, death in the family, family emergency, religious reasons and a few more.

If your child is tardy, they will get credit for the whole day as long as they are there for at least half the school day (3 1/2 hours?). If you check them in after that, they lose credit for the whole day (unless you have a doctor's excuse).

5 unexcused tardies (or late check-ins) = 1 unexcused absence.

5 unexcused early check-outs = 1 unexcused absence.


Anyway, just saying that maybe Haleigh didn't actually miss that many days of school. Maybe she was just tardy a lot. If she was checked in late/checked out early over a certain amount of times (over the limit) with no valid excuse, she would've been counted as absent even if she was really there.

Might explain why it says she was absent on Monday, February 9 even though she really wasn't.

I just have a hard time believing that she actually missed that many (unexcused) days without the county taking a lot more action. Here where I live, they don't play.

Does anyone remember a comment being made that if Haleigh missed anymore school, Ron would go to jail?

I don't believe the evidence found that night and days after support that Haleigh was abused, beat or harmed in the trailer in relation to the crime. Did I miss the release of evidence that supports that claim.

What does that Prescription slip say on the bottom of it? Do you see any blue tamper water mark? Hmmmm. and who writes a script for days off of school and two of those days are on a weekend???? Yeah right!

I've had doctors write excuses before that detail weekend dates as well as holidays. ESPECIALLY if you are going to the emergency room! Some of those docs have been up for DAYS....weekends and holidays mean nothing to them.

November 2008 - 12th is a wed, so school the 13th and 14th. The article states she picked Haleigh for visitation on the 12th so unless she just saw them on the 12th - then she had them the 13th and 14th as well. Also if you go downstairs it is broken out to show Crystals visitation dates in comparison to the number of Friday and Mondays Haleigh missed from school.

theres no school on weekends. Crystal didnt pull haileigh out of school. I dont see any of this totallity of days miss that indicate any of them are a result of being with their mother on visitation.

and her statement on NG about why did you move so far away from your children... she told Nancy because she wanted to get as far away from Ron as she could... BS... hink meter is going off..... then why the FLIP did you LEAVE your children in DANGER!

NONE of these pictures would even make me think for a sec they were being abused..... I did inhome daycare for 12 years.... The first picture "looks" bad but it looks photochopped........or something added... it does not look real.... I have seen another pic of Haleigh that looked like she had dark circles around her eyes..... but NOT black eyes!

Crystal wants her 15 mins of fame.... and she is making me more and more angry each second the way she is EXPLOITING Jr!

Clearly there are very strong opinions here in support of both sides of the family- I don't know if RC abused his children, I don't know if Crystal is using this for custody.

Can someone give me a good reason that benefits the children WHY these pictures needed to be released to the MEDIA? When RJ gets older, there are pictures of him bruised, with claims that he was beaten, on the internet. WTH? If Haleigh comes home, a picture of her with a busted face is plastered on national television. Abuse victim or not, that is embarrassing for these children.

If its abuse, go to DCF. Only DCF needs the pictures, NOT the national media. If its to gain custody to protect the children, show the pictures in court - NOT on "art harris" or whatever that tabloid reporting site is. No one is thinking of these kids.

Even best case scenario- that this was just childhood bruising- there still are these pictures up with accusations of abuse. How does that help ANYONE one bit? Please

This photo shows Haleigh with injuries from something. Could have been from a fall? her right arm is all scraped up, fingers on her left hand are bruised and she seems to have bad bruising & injury to the side of her head. Anyone know how these occurred?

the spot on her face is her birth mark!

the "stuff" on her hand/fingers is frosting or whatever she is eating...

as far as the scratches on her arm ... looks more to me like a rash....

I am no expert..... just my opinion and facts that have been posted here about her birthmark.

I would say what is on her arm is the same thing that is on her plate she is eating. I am not seeing any bad bruising or injury to the side of her head, see her birth mark on her cheek. The second picture I do not see any injury on her cheek.

Crystal DID go to DCF. DCF has a history of failing children in Florida.

I do not agree with nancy Graces attitude at all.Apparantly there is other abuse.He apparantly hit his child with a stick and he had bruises?and social services was called in?That is abuse to me to hit your child with a stick.It is wrong.This should be investigated?It's not ok to leave bruises on your child.

yes she has hair above her ear, I'm talking about where she is brushing her hair back, it starts just above the ear and extends a bit beyond the hairline, it looks like a dark bruise to me. Does anyone else see it or is it just me?

also, I'd say the scratch or injury on right forearm, the buising on fingers could be frosting, if she was a mess with frosting all over her, but she isn't. She is using a fork and there is none on her shirt, or the table clothe - I don't think it is frosting.

I didn't make the claim that it did. I said if it were discovered that she were being abused, it could be a clue to what happened to her. No one knows what happened.

The mark on the side of her head is her birthmark.

Look at the elbow area of Haleigh's right arm. What could that be? Not poison oak or poison ivey because poison ivey spreads. I do also note her little fingers look as if something has happened.
