I might have missed something, but has it been said where GBC is getting the money from to pay for his legal people?

It'd be hard for anyone to afford this, and his circumstances sure weren't good to begin with.

  • #802
The Courier-Mail understands Baden-Clay has written to Queensland Corrective Services informing them he wants to extend his legal counsel from Jacobson Mahony Lawyers, to also include Bosscher Lawyers and Nyst Lawyers, thereby giving their representatives clearance to visit him in prison.

Yes...the Herald report is dated July 03,last Tuesday....Courier Mail report is dated 7th July....yesterday.

It seems to me that originally GBC was going for the "Went out for a walk, randomly attacked" scenario, but then may have realised that this wasn't going to aid the insurance claim or get the police off his back ie: no murderer found, no COD etc and so then the change of course and attempts to steer it toward the suicide theory. MOO

I agree that he has changed ideas mid-way for whatever reason and that's why there are so many conflicting ideas. I think that something happened to make him change his story.

Oops-IMO

  • #804
Tomorrow there may be a request if he could appeal the decision or re-apply for bail if his legal circumstances change.

Hint...new legals with fresh angles?

Don't know whether to bother going down to the courthouse tomorrow or not now, pending confirmation that the mention will be happening. I have all day off and it's only a ten minute walk there.

You may as well. I would if I was free and that close. Nothing to lose!

Jools, any info you can offer will be of benefit to the police. I think it would be wise to contact them asap. Tis is the type of info they have been actively seeking from the beginning!? The roundabout seems to be crucial for reasons I just can't get my head around, but its obviously very 'key' and the time you say is very important too!!

This makes me wonder... If he did it and wants to plead not guilty, then he has to come up with some other way of her being killed/at the bridge etc, doesn't he... some other suspect? {I don't mean HE has to, but put doubt out there about someone else being responsible}
Whereas if he pleads guilty, this is where he tries to come up with some reason that he was either driven to it/temp insanity/manslaughter... am I right?
So, if the police know he did it and there is enough evidence, wouldn't he be a fool to say he didn't do it, and had nothing to do with it? {We know he's a fool, but yeah.}

All so confusing. I was a juror on a murder trial. He pleaded not guilty. But half way through the trial (because evidence pointed to him being the murderer), up jumps his barrister to say that his client did in fact have something to do with the it, but it wasn't murder, an accident.

It is just so unpredictable as to what the legal bods come up with.

What a lovely post Cyansea.....I think you've described very well what this forum means to all of us. Allison represents all of us in many different ways, be it giving up what would have been a glittering career for her family, or staying with a partner, when you really deserved so much more respect and devotion, because you loved them very much (been there, done that!) etc. etc. Also LOVE the sleuthing going on at the mo.....great stuff - tossing ideas back and forth, providing previous posts and links and relevant articles etc. with quite a few 'funnies' interspersed....it's great reading, thanks everyone!

Love your 'name' Cyansea....hubby and I are are buying a boat when we've sold our houses this year, and I'd been tossing up calling her something related to Allison (as I don't really want MY name on it, as hubby suggests!) I was tossing around variations of Allison's names in my head, and 'A. Dickie' was passed over as not appropriate....then I thought of what had been done to my maiden name when a kid, and wondered what Allison might have had to put up with if her name was called out at roll call as A. Dickie....this is what makes her so very 'real' to us I feel, we relate to her in so many many ways, even silly little thoughts like this! (It crossed my mind that I could always name the yacht after GBC ie. 'A 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬' :what: *Wozzle slaps herself for being so facetious!*)

Special shout out to Marlywings and those with such extraordinary (and rapid) 'link-ability'...you have no idea how helpful it is to the forum (I, of course, remember all the things you link to.....but how to find them - and the time! - is completely beyond me! I actually wanted to find a 'dinosaur' for my avatar as I feel technologically challenged, but had to settle for 'Scrat' from Ice Age....who is a ridiculous and inept little fellow....but is amusing, means well and tries hard!)

On I go with the reading (wearing blinkers to dishes in sink...bird needing to be put out....dog hair on carpet....pile of washing....recycling bin overflowing....*sigh*.....)

Thank you so much Wozzle! Good luck in your sea change, how fantastic! I actually love your avatar as well, so cute!
In relation to your naming your boat, I was having a look and found this website:

http://www.namethatboat.com/popular-boat-names.htm#C

It's great! Has very clever thought out names, I like Sea Sapphire. There are hundreds to choose from, too many! It would be like trying to name a baby, quite an important task. There are names like "Occupational Hazard", "Salesman Ship", "Sea Clusion", "On The Rocks", "Anywhere But Down":waitasec:) "Sea Hawk", Sand Blast" and so many more! If you wanted to have a name in rememberance of Allison I'm not sure but something like "Alysun" or some other variation? Some names on the website are really clever. Good luck at naming your boat!

So true what you say about Allison representing us in so many ways. We give so much and automatically think you would get good things back, which is what should happen. I have also been there, done that as well, many of us on this forum have as I have read and actually had a tear for all who have had such a hard time, I empathise with all who have been through hard times. I take my hat off to all that have risen above it and made it through. (Men or Women).

I have no doubt in my mind that everyone on this forum and whoever is reading this forum and has been through hard times to continue to stay strong and reaffirm our belief in ourselves, but having said that, not be naive and as many have advised on this forum when something does not feel right, it isn't.

This possibility has been raised Mountain Misst, however the car he crashed near the police station was a friend's car, and has apparently been ruled out. I gather he borrowed it because both the family cars were impounded almost immediately after Allison's disappearance. I think he deliberately crashed that car to avoid going to the police station that first Sunday, as apparently he had a request from police to attend a second time for a more thorough forensic examination. (He had attended on the Saturday and given a DNA sample and had his scratches examined by a police doctor.)

There is/was damage on the front left of the Prado, but someone here reported that he crashed that one the week before she was first reported missing. The person on here that stated this said their friend had actually heard/witnessed this crash (somewhere near GBC's office)

MOO

That's my memory LM.

I drove past the Indro Bus Station today and there is NO WAY anyone would need to be driving up into the bus station. Interestingly, I couldn't even see any blue paint chipped off the pillar that he hit.
He must have hit it at such low speed. It was a stupid act done deliberately IMO

Evening all :) Although the site would suggest I've been here all day, I have actually been busy. But the computer just stays logged in.

I've just got home, and what do I find? That Makara - bless her little cotton socks - has created a great new avatar for me. Now the image she has of me as a Jude Law character may not quite fit the reality, but her effort is really appreciated.

So I'm posting this to test out that the new avatar appears OK, and I will wear it with pride - thank you Makara :)

Now - just to stay on topic (and we gotta keep Kimster happy ;) ) - I am still puzzled by the apparent hole in the logic.

On the one hand, we have the police saying (in the charge, if I remember correctly) that Allison was murdered at their home in Brookfield. They also say that blood found in the back of ABC's car was Allison's.

So - and here's where the logical hole is - where was the blood in the house? Did they find any? Why haven't they mentioned that? Because if the blood in the car was indeed Allison's blood - eg from a nose bleed (no injuries according to the defence) then if it was bleeding out there in the car, we should expect there to be more of the same inside the house at the site of the murder (whatever the method was).

Blood in car should = blood in house (or other murder site).

So why haven't the prosecution mentioned that, but they HAVE mentioned the blood in the car?

There seems to be a gaping hole in the logic here somewhere, and the defence are going to make a meal of it, I suspect...

Thanks again Makara :)

Respectfully snipped....

Finally, I recall driving from Brisbane through Kenmore around 10.45-11.00pm on April 19th. I had been thinking it was the day after but have checked a few things and now realise it was the 19th- and I recall seeing a vehicle near the bus stop, and there appeared to be a commotion. At the time I recall thinking I was glad it was on the opposite side of the road. I will contact the police, but my recollections are very vague.

BBM:

Hey Jools, do you remember what type of vehicle is was and what do you mean by commotion? A brawl, someone collapsed?

What I don't understand here is that the journalist for the Herald Sun link by Berry is by a Courier Mail reporter which is the same MSM Marly linked too as well.

Hi,
I've decided to end my self-imposed silence!
I saw a chain outside Coles at the weekend- its the chain with the key on the end used to give you your dollar back on returning the small trolleys. Now they have removed the coin slots on the small trolleys but I saw a chain hanging there from one of the trolley collection bays- near the multistory car park. I didn't have time to check the other trolley collection bays. So there are, and definitely were actually chains outside Coles at Kenmore in April, and around the time of the murder.
Did someone post that NBC looked up the Scout Camp on Mount Crosby Road during the night ABC went missing? Might he have been checking on something before taking her there?
In my opinion GBC thought he was too clever for anyone to catch him, and had lived a charmed existence until the murder.

Jools - you have nothing to lose in contacting the police IMO.

You might have a little piece of the puzzle that will help the QPS - they were very focused on the roundabout remember and there has to be good reason. IMO

Just had a strange thought - what are we going to do with all those spare hours if he DOES plead guilty? Has become awfully comfortable in here and though of course I want justice for darling Allison, I'll miss this stimulating, witty, kind group of (as someone else has stated) nicest people I've never met!!

Maybe we could start up some sort of private forum or online discussion group where we could chat about what we like without the entire general public having the ability to read it. And then shoot over here if there is anything new to post about the case, or any new events occurring such as court dates, new evidence released etc. Nothing to stop groups who find they 'click' to organise something among themselves.

Jools, you are so right to contact police, or Crime Stoppers. Even if you aren't too clear on things. It all adds up to the police.
