Yeah, but he doesn't have anyone by the name of Bruce Overland as a friend. Wonder why? :what:
He's not Bruce Overlands type :floorlaugh::floorlaugh: not pretty enough

I recall that GBC has a friend as reported in MSM. He crashed his friend's car. Could this be he?
(thanks Big Mac, am gobsmacked)

Minni, my impression of Davis mentioning the chipped tooth was in relation to the blood in the Captiva. Didn't he say something about a chipped tooth would not cause bleeding? He also said that there was no proof that the blood in the car was Allison's. :banghead: I'll have to go back and find exactly what he said in relation to the chipped tooth.

When it was first mentioned here that Allison's hands were supposedly missing (big hugs to Possum, I remember you being sooo upset) I immediately thought - decomposition. IMO the whole 'hands being removed' story is a rumour that has almost become fact to some.

Also in relation to Hawkins comment. I'm wondering if he may have been referring to the advanced state of decomposition as well prawns etc. that had degraded Allison's body to the point of being unrecognisable other than by dental records?

I'm assuming that photos of Allison's body may be tendered as evidence when this case goes to trial. Those photos would be terrible for jurers to look at. I certainly would not want to see them. It was difficult enough for me to do the sceencaps of her body under the bridge.

MOO.

thanks Makara, so what I dont understand as I can never find the quotes I need, is, was the chipped tooth mentioned by the defense as being an injury related to her demise? or an injury that occurred post mortem?

After thinking a lot about the hands etc, it occurred to me only today, that this rumour could have started very easily as a chinese whisper that started like this:

When Allison was found, there would have been MUCH discussion between the many many people at the site, in regards to her physical state. When you consider the amount of experts (expert dudes even;)) that needed to participate , a lot of people would have had a lot to mull over. I think that its highly possible, that her fingers/fingertips/extremities were nibbled on by prawns. It sounds sad yet also stupid to say it out loud. But I have checked for prawn activity and it is high in the mouth of Kholo. I will link it if anyone wants me to go find it (I was told this two weeks ago by the same person who told me the finger story, so I have tried to keep these things aside as I believe its just more rumour)
So, my next question would be, 'would extremities be something that could 'go' first??

I said earlier today, in a post to Pulp, that the idea of removing her hands or fingers seems ridiculous and outrageous to me, that he could or would do this to her. I still feel this way (but dont always trust myself as I have trouble seeing the bad in people, so I assume I am just being too naive again) anyway, bottom line, I can't sit through the minutes (in my head) needed to recreate the cutting off of hands or fingers in my mind.

Ok sorry....what I want to say is that these workers could have made minor comments that relate to the state of her body. It would take a millisecond for someone to interpret a statement that was made in realtion to predator activity like, 'she had no fingers' or 'her hands were completely gone' to mean they were removed by her killer.

Doc I am going to assume that you have been reading from the beginning - I am quite surprised by your question to be honest.
Hawkins as has already been stated, has answered a lot of legal questions on here for members.
Verification has never come into it for me - his knowledge speaks for itself.

I think there are members on here who mix in legal circles and who know members of the QPS and who could probably post a lot more but are holding the integrity of those friends and relatives.

I think Hawkins legal knowledge is immense and when he is back on here, I am sure that he will continue to explain the situation in legal terms to us, as it arises.

All MOO

I agree with you Mami.

Hawkins has been an asset to Websleuths.

You can see by the response that that he was well received and respected.
He gave his time to help out. I miss his comments.
We could do with more Hawkins. :rocker:

Yup - I fully understand that. But it was just the apparent hints that there was more knowledge than the rest had, and that it would be confronting to a jury. I understood when I went to the trouble to get myself verified that if I didn't, then I was restricted to posting nothing that could be construed as me having any expertise in my area. In other words, I had to post nothing that would pertain to my professional knowledge unless I was verified.

Maybe I misunderstood that, or maybe I just misunderstood the essence of Hawkins' post suggesting that there was more to this than meets the eye.

But never mind - I'm not trying to sleuth Hawkins - I enjoy his posts. It was just me wondering about the "confronting to the jury" bits....

I'll just have to wait (sigh) along with everyone else (sigh) unless I can pry any info out of my forensic contacts (sigh). If I don't stop this sighing, (sigh) I'm going to hyperventilate... :floorlaugh:
So Doc, just to make it really simple, if you post something related to the medical field we can decide for ourselves to take it on board or to leave it. My view is I would question anything anyone says regardless of their field of expertise but will give a little bit more lee way if for instance you were to post on varicose veins!
Our good friend Hawkins has decided not to be verified in his field, which I respect, this means that anything he says I can take or leave (and do not have to assume that because it is coming from a verified professional I have to give it any more weight).

However, our good friend Hawkins posts have been of such calibre and insights (both emotional and obviously knowledgeable) that he has been awarded my accolade of being the most respected poster on this forum.

Every one is entitled to their own view and I have no doubt that your posts are equally liked by some other posters.

This is just the way the cookie crumbles.

His view of what the jury would see still plays in my head and will until I hear the evidence in court. As does his incredible sensitive insight into the societal causes and effects of violence and abuse within a relationship.

Prawns are bottom feeders. They dont come to the surface, hence the way they are trawled to be caught.

(possible) This is horrible, but as mentioned by others Allison's body was suggested to be in a very bad way. Nothing to do with missing limbs, but maybe missing organs and flesh from predator activity and/or decomposition. She was identified only by dental records and not required to be ID'ed by a family member. This is quite upsetting but maybe worth backing up previous suggestions. Claimed to come from 2 people - one connected to morgue and one to forensics. I'm not sure what to think as any footage of Allison's body appeared to show clothing kind of intact. Don't really want to dwell on the thoughts.

Amee and Possum...thankyou thats really helpful, both posts. So prawns would not even come into this unless she was weighted down.

Possum, water rats would definitely be active in this case? I have heard some sad stories regarding rats. So does anyone know if finger tips are considered soft tissue etc that might be 'approached' first? sorry I've got no idea how to say this aaarrgghhh
