Exactly, it's just too bizzare for words really...

If I were out for a walk and my kids asked Where I was, my hubby might jokingly say something silly to them like we heard growing up - 'she went mad and the policeman shot her' and the kids would know that's it's just silly and laugh.

BUT for that to be said (which by the way I do NOT find silly or funny) is just plain weird (unless that's the joke in their house??) especially given that police were there and so were the other BC's. Those girls had to know something was off and that comment was just wrong

And for OW to repeat it to police??? I wonder if she said it was a joke or if she was serious?? This part totally baffles me also!!

Me too and OH is shaking his head and he says awful dad joke things

Sorry for the late response -been busy all day and just checking the threads now. My goodness, you have all been busily discussing things.

Just re Alioop's question about the subdural haematoma - the term is used interchangeably for a bleed that has clotted and one that hasn't. It is used more to represent just a collection of blood, contained by surrounding tissues, and clotted or not.

This could have occurred due to a deliberate blow to her head, or by banging her head on the way out of the back of the house or even putting her in the car. Or at the bridge - but she'd need to be either still alive or VERY recently dead for enough blood to accumulate there (only a few mls would be needed to cause problems) Could also be an old haematoma from previous trauma - eg a fight earlier. Some people have a chronic subdural from repeated falls, eg boxers, drunks who fall over, and victims of repeated head trauma from any cause. Including spouse abuse.

Fuskier's question about a phone at Kenmore roundabout logging onto the Fig Tree Pocket tower - I doubt it, as there is a tower only a couple of hundred metres away in direct line of sight, outbound on Moggill Road just before the right-turn that goes down the hill to the NBC house area. So a phone at the roundabout would presumably log on to the closest signal, which would be the Kenmore one.

Something obvious just occurred to me. Alison's blood was in the captiva with what we think may be her blond hair stuck in it. We also know she had a subdural haematoma so it is a good possibility that she had an injury to her head that caused both external and internal bleeding. When her head touched the side door from her being placed on the folded down seats, both blood and hair from her head were transferred to the door.

I know we have discussed this before, but to me it is SO strange that everyone seemed to mobilise so quickly that morning. For example, if I didn't arrive home from my morning walk and my husband was getting worried, he would just call in late to work (if he was attending a conference as gbc may have been too, then even less reason to worry about him being late), drop the kids himself or keep them home, drive around repeatedly while trying to phone (not text!) and probably by mid-late morning may call my family or his as he would be getting concerned, then after that a bit later in the day would possibly call the police if getting very concerned by then. From memory this is about the timeframe it took for Jill Meaghers husband to call the police, which makes more sense to me.

Why have his family descend at or around 6 and call the police at 7:15am - this is not what one would normally do if the situation was innocent IMO.

unless it was to fiit in with his suicide scenario? because he was "sick with worry because allison was depressed"? and there was an urgency to finding her?
but then doesnt tm mention his phone conversation to her when allison first went missing, about finding her "killer"?
its like he had lots of scenarios and kept changing his stories when he thought of a better one!

and he didnt mention it in his bumbling tv interview with his sister, they both said she was happy and untroubled.

Yes - that does remain a possibility, although the autopsy report seems to suggest too much decomposition to define any external wounds - which is what the defence said at the initial bail hearing. But - even a small scalp laceration - one which may have been hard to define at autopsy - could cause significant external bleeding. And the same blow that caused that could also have caused a subdural bleed inside the skull.

And re your question of time before death for such a bleed to accumulate - I'm thinking more in terms of a few minutes (less than 5) after the heart stops but still enough blood to ooze out of subdural vessels.

A more common occurrence, though, is that a subdural bleed tends to diminish in size and pressure after death. I don't know what extent or volume of subdural blood was found at autopsy, but it's interesting that there obviously wasn't enough to assess the blood levels of Zoloft - they had to get blood out of the portal system in the liver to do that. And not much blood is needed for that. So the subdural would, I'd be thinking, have been quite small and subtle. As in "evidence of a subdural" rather than "a subdural haematoma was found".

I remembered a new member posting one night back in thread #1 in which he asked if there's a camera at the roundabout & I posted the Qld Transport cams link to him. Soo I just HAD to go back & find that post but nup wasn't who I thought it may have been...lol.

It is amazing how many of the initial stories have turned out to be correct.

I have contributed to that discussion but I really don't have anything else to add except that a police officer friend told me (and this was back when the search was still on, maybe day 6/7) that one of the children had told a police officer that "Daddy said Mummy had fallen down a hole". She may well have meant that "Daddy said Mummy MIGHT have fallen down a hole", among other possibilities. I know as a parent that I try to come up with palatable scenarios with children rather than hit them with bad news right between the eyeballs. I didn't interpret this information as anything sinister at the time, although I guess my source might have thought otherwise given that they shared this information with me.
I don't know what day that conversation between the police officer and the children occurred, nor when GBC might have said this to the girls.
I also don't want to get my copper friend in trouble

The way the diary comments are laid out suggests it is part of the therapy. Listing fears or hurts may even have been something she was instructed to do. I read nothing in those comments that suggests she was suicidal at all.

I suspect GBC wanted to be with her when they married to increase his own stature and power as she had more than he. Then later when she became more of a mother than a career woman and he became his own business man he probably didn't feel she was a boost to his ego or status anymore. He probably enjoyed the power in being able to get other women fall for him then. It's incredible that he could see her as a ticket to money through her life insurance, it makes me wonder did he really ever love her enough or was he just using her?

How sad that this intelligent capable woman was left feeling sad, insecure and afraid to be alone because of this man.
