"I spoke to her the night before she disappeared on Thursday night and she seemed fine," she said.
"I saw her last week and she seemed normal, delightful - her normal, easygoing, beautiful-natured, thoughtful, kind-hearted self.
"As far as I know there have been no, there is no, we don't know anything about Allison's whereabouts."

Ms Walton said the family had not been distracted by the high-profile nature of Allison's disappearance, or the public speculation about where the 43-year-old might be.
"I think with any missing persons case it is a mystery and people are always going to talk.
"Allison suffers from depression, my thoughts are simply consumed with where she might be. I'm not interested in the speculation and rumours."

..... seems that Olivia may have been remaining in Brisbane from the week before.

Ms Walton said the family had not been distracted by the high-profile nature of Allison's disappearance

How up-thy-self.....high profile indeed!!

Distracted from what? The insurance? Packing for The holiday? Business as usual?
They weren't out searching, they weren't out helping with refreshments for the searches, they weren't benevolent in consoling the Dickies!

Big thank you Marley, can I ask if you recall a report that TM attended this 'in law escape' I'm sure it was written somewhere, if so surely the BC's knew of this 'close friendship'.

ALSO
• Police are hopeful of finding her mobile phone after narrowing the location of the key missing item to an area spanning 150m.

Can the police be keeping the phone a trump card?

ALSO

• Police believe the killer could have taken Mrs Baden-Clay's body to the area as early as 8pm on Thursday April 19.

Could Allison have been given the evening off after the hairdresser not knowing what plans were already in place? Remember he did not want her at the seminar!! Wow & the OW baby sitter was down on standby.

I FEEL SICKENED BY THIS POSSIBILITY :worms::gasp:

I can clearly remember reading that TM went away on this "much needed holiday" because it left me reeling in disbelief. Thought to self, he has replaced the mother figure already.
Also thought to self, "there goes the phone, and any other loose ends."
I too have been looking for this MSM report for a written confirmation over the past few days.
Sometimes I wonder if some reports go AWOL. For this reason it may be better to make a copy of a particular article instead of just the link.
Perhaps the story is on part of a video link?
Another thing I picked up when doing the timeline, (which meant going through heaps of reports,) GBC and TM together were actually discussing their relationship and etceteras earlier on the day of Allison's disappearance 19 April 2012. I felt that eerily poignant, somewhat creepy, and wondered at the relevance of that meeting.

Thank you to Marlywings for fixing the link to the post by 'Thinking' re conversation which was overheard ........ regarding GBC's affairs about to be made public.
Not so sure that the stress GBC was suffering was entirely because of his alleged revealing the affair to his Parents ....... (especially since TM wasn't the only one) .... it would contribute more ammunition to the 'Court of Public Opinion'....Oh! and what if the other affairs are revealed too! JMO

Thanks for finding that link Couldbe. Seems I had confused what I was told at the time with what was in the post all those months ago. My apologies.
Yes, I think you're spot on about the stress caused by the 'Court of Public Opinion' too. And, I imagine that having to tell your olds that not only have you been having an affair, but also that it is going to be published in the CM, would be almost enough to make your beard fall out! :what:

Hi all

I am a brand new member of the Webslueths community, although I have been quietly reading the posts for a while now and have found them to be incredibly informative. I have really appreciated being able to read them. I hope somewhere along the line I can add some value to the sleuthing!

TGY...I don't recall a MSM report mentioning TM went along on the "in law escape".

There was another weekend when GBC went off to Gold Coast...the long weekend prior to the story breaking about the TM affair. From memory there may have been a rumour that TM went with him.

May 08, 2012

It's understood that Mr Baden-Clay, who reported his wife missing the morning after she reportedly took a late-night walk and didn't return, spent the long weekend at Tallebudgera on the Gold Coast with friends and his three daughters who are still coming to terms with their mother's death.
The trip was part of an annual gathering that the late Mrs Baden-Clay had joined on previous years.

Well it was mentioned at the Dec bail hearing that her phone has never been found. There's always a chance they could still find it before the committal hearing.

You're welcome Couldbe :)

Just my opinion but I don't think there's a chance in heck GBC's parents, unless they were living under a rock, weren't aware of his affair with TM.

The report which revealed the affair...

May 20, 2012

MURDERED Brisbane mum Allison Baden-Clay's husband, Gerard, had an affair with a woman who worked in their real estate franchise.

Police have been told the relationship between Mr Baden-Clay and former Century 21 Westside saleswoman Toni McHugh was widely known amongst friends and colleagues.

However, numerous sources have revealed how the affair unravelled publicly long before Allison's disappearance as staff became suspicious.

"People saw them at events together. People saw them at dinners together. People had dinners with them together. It wasn't a well-kept secret," said one person with detailed knowledge of the situation.

Before she disappeared on Thursday night ?

GBC said she went for a walk on Friday morning didn't he ?

I interpret Olivia to mean that she spoke to Allison on the Thursday night (the night before the day GBC alleges that she went for an early morning walk...Friday.

the 64 Million Dollar question - what time Thursday night ........ maybe she told that to the Police (Oops..maybe she shouldn't have said that)........ but we have to surmise that it was before 'GBC went to bed at 10 pm'. Imaginations can run riot here ...... will have to wait until the trial.

Yes agree CB - one of a few 64 million dollar questions on this case.
What was time of death? When were OW and NBC mobilised? Were the the cars sighted at the roundabout.... the list goes on but we keep getting a little more a picture as things get closer.

Conspicuously OW had the loose lips in the family - she probably does a lot of talking with her hubby's congregations- so it was probably difficult for her to shut up - unlike the rest of the family who practically supa-glued their lips shut.

I heard Allison was at the sports day.....and OW as well...also heard Allison was at school that afternon to pick girls up....she spoke to several other parents.....I do not know of any news report of this......but has been confirmed as that she was there.....and spoke to locals....one....remembers her well....that day...she was fine.....They had a conversation......

This is just what I heard........MOO:banghead:

Allison's phone .....
a) If it has not been found, the Police must have given up on looking for it ............ or are still trying to locate it;
b) They have enough evidence of activity on it;
c) Decided that it could be just anywhere, and trust that it might just 'turn up'.

I have always wondered if Allison actually told the hairdresser that she was having the night off on Friday. This would have made sense, because GBC indicated in his text to Allison that the children were at the home still asleep.
Also, Allison had spoken to her friend on the Thursday night about dropping off her children's clothes after the Conference.

That is the coast trip I was alluding to to a few posts back. The trip before the funeral. Sorry if I was misleading.

Before she disappeared on Thursday night ?

GBC said she went for a walk on Friday morning didn't he ?

Oh dear, what a blooper! Tut tut.

"I spoke to her the night before she disappeared on Thursday night and she seemed fine," she (OW) said.

I don't recall the QPS or press reporting she disappeared Thursday night!

I am pretty sure she disappeared Thursday night, but I'm just an online blogger, speculating.

GBC said she went for an early Friday morning walk.

Dear oh dear. No wonder they were then advised not to speak.

Clearly the pain and strain and stress of having to remember who said what,
then balance it against what actually happened, then balance again for a sleepless night, then try really hard not to get one's words all jumbled up, is showing.

Actually, to be fair, the interpretation of that line depends on how you read it. I read that as "I spoke to her on Thursday night - before she disappeared". It all depends on how you parse the sentence - which was spoken as a one-off and not edited for grammatical accuracy or unambiguity.

Maybe a comma after the word "disappeared" and again after "night" would make more sense?

" I spoke to her the night before she disappeared, on Thursday night, and she seemed fine" ....??

It will be interesting when the trial finally occurs to see if OW takes the oath or affirms. Do they still have this in Australian courts? I only seem to watch American court dramas.

Given her religious convictions she would have to finally tell the truth if she does take the oath (wouldn't she?)

Sounds like she was warned to SHUT IT UP maybe that's why she ran like a scalded cat from the evil media no more bloopers:moo:
