Good points Couldbe. I hadn't considered both cars may have been warm from driving, I was just thinking about the captiva. I think though and its just my theory that whatever happened that night, other than GBC perhaps driving around at 7 am, was all done by say 1 am at the latest.

Rachel Narelle Smith, 41,in Court for killing of Amanda Quirk by: Brooke Baskin From: The Courier-Mail February 01, 2013 11:47AM

... In an autopsy on April 10, 2010, an analysis of the woman's liver showed high-levels of ... [drugs] ... in her system.
Mr Hoskings said this was likely due to "post-mortem re-distribution" where the level of different chemicals in the body become more concentrated after death. Seems to concur with DrWatson's opinions re probable 'post-mortem re-distribution' in the Baden-Clay case.

Doc, it may have no words, but speaks volumes!

I don't think GBC told police he was driving around to explain a warm engine, I think he told them that as he was driving when he called. We don't know why he was driving but he said he was looking for his wife and his father was looking after the girls.

Thanks Alioop. I find the timing somewhat odd. Initially it wasn't reported that he had been driving around, only that he supposedly sent those text messages to Allison's phone. Now we find out that OW and maybe NBC was at the home just after 6am. GBC seems to be making things up as time goes by.

Has he given a statement to the police or did he remain silent ?

Has he given a statement to the police or did he remain silent ?

Until alioop can provide more info

..... on 27 Apr, before Allison's body was found ....

Link refers: http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/ar...den-clay-goes-on/story-e6freuzr-1226341045396

"Darren Mahony, a top criminal lawyer based on the Gold Coast, said he had been engaged by Gerard Baden-Clay to provide advice and assist with his dealings with police.

He said police had "made inquiries" with Mr Baden-Clay as part of their thorough investigation into her disappearance."

And as reported in the Media: ....
'Friends yesterday described the 41-year-old real estate principal as a "mess" who believed his wife's disappearance was linked to depression.

They said he was a "gentle" man who believed his wife would eventually return home.'

At his parents' house, sister Olivia Walton told waiting media to leave them alone.

"Just let us be normal," she said.

"Unfortunately Allison still has not been found. So we are just desperate for her to be returned to us as soon as possible and that is our primary focus at the moment."

Everything about this crazy family is odd.

Every statement-
" we just want her returned to us",
" its business as usual",
" we just want to be normal",
" struck down but not destroyed", etc etc

Every avoidance of statements-
-running from the press into neighbours property,
-no formal statement given to police,
-no appearance by ANY of them at the command post for the search effort, etc etc again

Every action-
-engaging of criminal lawyer on the day Allison as reported missing,
-the infamous granny pash,
-going on holidays between the finding of the body and the funeral,
etc etc again

Every lack of action-
-GBC not speaking at funeral,
-GBC not going to the site where the body was found...

Every inconsistency-
4 different versions of the walking route,
the depression/usual happy self description...

Absolutely everything.

This family is extremely odd, extremely cold, and in Olivias case, either extremely naive or stupid. When you look at all that we have seen and heard, and its really not that much, there is NOTHING that strikes me as normal about his family, and nothing that adds up regarding Allisons disappearance.

Guilty, guilty, guilty. I can hardly wait.

MOO

I should add that i am feeling a bit heated tonight, and am aware that my opinion is only that, my opinion. I apologise if anyone feels offended, that is not intended. I purely feel strongly about this case and what I have seen through observing this case.

Has he given a statement to the police or did he remain silent ?

As far as I am aware, he has refused to give a formal statement, even with his lawyer present.

As far as I am aware, he has refused to give a formal statement, even with his lawyer present.

His parents also refused...

THE parents of Gerard Baden-Clay refused requests for further information and interviews during the massive effort to solve the death of his wife, Allison, police claim in court documents

I have previously asked Nigel Baden-Clay for a further interview and statement to obtain further details relevant to the investigation; however, he has declined my requests.''

Baden-Clay's mother, Elaine, also did not mention the FaceTime call and "she too has declined my requests'' for a further interview and statement, Sgt Roddick said.

The more we discover about this case, the more it "offends our collective conscience".

How are we meant to believe that Gerard was so worried by 6am that he called his father AND sisiter to come over while he went into panic mode over the likely disappeance of his wife???
and, then he wakes up.
Then he texts Al to ask if she slept well, signing off love G
Then he drives around LOOKING for her.
Then he texts again, saying he's worried, and within a brief time from this text, he calls 000.
What the???

Then he basically goes into hiding whilst an army of professional and volunteers put their lives on hold and at risk to scour every possible hole and crevice and dam and rubbish bin to try to find Allison, hopefully still alive, or at least locate clues as to her disappearance.
All the while, he lets them search, without support or thanks. No, rather than do that, he accuses the media of relentless barraging of him and the brother-in-law accuses them of salacious gossip!!!
What the, again...

You all know the story, I wont keep going, but in my opinion, the inconsistencies, inconceivabilities, and the outright horror of what occurred, have and will continue to "offend our collective conscience" forever.

Someone, a while back, posted that they were wondering if the investigators got GBC to shave off his beard in prison, so as they could see how quickly it grew.
I didn't get to thank the post at the time, but I feel this suggestion is very feasible.
Good thinking.
Beard growth rates do vary a lot, and this would certainly add to their evidence re whether or not he did in fact shave at all that morning or not.

Then they could have 2 pieces of evidence- one from the doctor who said the scratches were almost definitely fingernail scratches, and one showing yet another lie told by GBC.

Afterthought- I wonder if they gave him a blunt razor to see if he took gouges out of his face again??

Alioop, I have another question regarding wording, if you dont mind.

The 2nd charge against Gerard, that of "interfering with her corpse at Kholo Creek".
Is it fair to say, that seeing as the police believe the murder took place at their home in Brookfield, that if the interfering charge was just for moving the body, it would say between Brookfield and Kholo Creek, rather than at Kholo Creek? or is this wording the norm for movement of a body from one place to another?

I think I just answered my own question.
I found this:

"The charge against the defendant is that he improperly interfered with a human corpse, namely that of (insert name of deceased). The principle underlying this part of our criminal law is that every civilised society imposes on its members an obligation to dispose decently of the dead."

Sorry if this has already been posted previously. I know there was significant discussion, but dont remember seeing this.
