Well I have two weeks off at the end of June do you think the trial will still be going then? We could have a meetup.

Sue Health in her statement said GBC phoned her while she was at Mr Fleggs to inform them that he had a previous affair and it was going to be in the newspaper.
.While she said to him it was none of their business, she did ask was it TMH.
She also said my comment about Allison being depressed and the mariage being "shaky" was only my assumption at the time.
I believe GBC and Allison kept their private matters very quiet.
Dr Flegg in his statement said he did not recall TMH name until Sue Health saw it on the media reports.

Was the name of mistress number three ever revealed?

Just in case some Gerard aficionado's get excited about Mr Shields, he had it not so hard, really , on the charge re Natasha, since Natasha was merely hiding, and not murdered, but even Peter couldn't get Lenny Fraser over the line for 5 other murders of women in his long and useless life.. Len got life.. an indefinite sentence re the highly unlikely expectation of parole, and has since died .. of a heart attack in 2007. New years day, I think..

Life.. no parole on the horizon.. . sounds about right to me.

.....still wondering who's paying the tab for Messrs. Byrne & Shields.....or if the taxpayer is funding, how one gets to select one's preferred representation....

Four weeks has been set down for the trial which would take it up to 8th July. Today's report states three to four weeks. Sometimes the trials will finish up earlier depending on the length of time it takes with witnesses etc.

Crown prosecutor Todd Fuller QC told a pre-trial hearing on Monday the trial would likely hear from about 72 witnesses over three to four weeks.

It's nice to see some familiar contributors checking in again.
Hoping Hawkins makes a cameo appearance soon.
One week left ... tick tock...

.....still wondering who's paying the tab for Messrs. Byrne & Shields.....or if the taxpayer is funding, how one gets to select one's preferred representation....

Whoever is paying, Byrne and Shields will be earning every single cent of it, the hard gritty way... a shocker of a client, a ridiculous story.. well.. really.. lets face it , Gerard doesn't have a story.. according to him, Allison evaporated into thin air..

So Thin Air is the guilty party , from Gerards point of view..

Added to this, the 2nd charge.. Unless Gerard can come up with someone who shifted Allisons body from where she was murdered to where she was found..... someone he doesn't know, or arranged it with.. didn't even see or speak to, just some stranger, out walking thru Brookfield, passing Gerards house, decided to peer in and offload this problem, without discussion, just like that, out of the blue.. never gave a name, or reason why .... then evaporated too, into Thin Air..

And while the state doesn't need to prove a motive, Gerard is riddled , soaked , and marinated in two of the classic motives of all time.. a demanding mistress with a deadline and big huge monumental gargantuan unpayable colossal unmanageable debts... all due, and some past due..

Byrne and Shields should be paid a premium.

BBM

Everyone appeared to know all about Gerard, his affairs, the business needing money and doing it tough. No discretion there! :notgood:
The Real estate industry in a country town word travels lightening fast.
Allison tried to keep her life to her self, it's nothing one would boast about. Just imagine being at the school tuck shop & someone telling you about your husbands affair.
what a nightmare life for her.

It's called 12 degrees of separation.
Everyone except poor Allison who I pray confided with her family who 'knew something was wrong from the beginning' she went missing.

Good luck.
I'm stuck in Sydney.

TGY, I thought it was only 6 degrees of separation. Whatever...

Exactly TGY and some know more than others.

I was wondering why GBC felt the need to phone Ms heath and inform her/them that he had a previous affair.

In Sue's statement it was him telling her and Bruce as it was about to come out in the paper. My guess so he had some kind of allies?

Yep, Trooper rocks! :loveyou:

We're talking about GBC so I thought I'd double it.

But Flegg says in his statement that he did not recall TMH's name until Ms Heath saw it in media reports in relation to Allison's disappearance,

Did Ms Heath tell Flegg about the call or was the call for her benefit.

Gerard Baden-Clay trial: Graphic descriptions and evidence to be shown

June 03, 2014 12:00AM

Concerns were raised in court about the potential for jurors to be affected by graphic descriptions or images.

“There will be photos of the deceased in situ,” Mr Fuller said.

There would be some evidence presented from a car but there would be no photographs of blood, he said.

The jurors could be taken to the bridge where Mrs Baden-Clay’s body was discovered, the court was told.

My favourite line from today's reports...:)

Mr Fuller and barrister Danny Boyle will represent the Director of Public Prosecutions.

http://www.brisbanetimes.com.au/que...-about-bias-20140602-zrv1k.html#ixzz33SkKponV

Both Barristers are very successful crown prosecutors.

In the prosecution of Brett Peter Cowan Crown Prosecutor Michael Byrne QC put down many of the defence propositions in his prosecution evidence. (EG: the fact another known offender was in the area among others) - he did have a confession to also adduce.

http://www.couriermail.com.au/news/...ot-give-evidence/story-fnihsrf2-1226847435866

We should keep in mind GBC has consented to a trial, so although some of the evidence has been heard at the committal, it remains untested.

GBC Committal barrister was Peter Davis QC, Trial barrister is to be Michael Byrne QC.

There should be no misunderstanding of the law from either side at least.

BBM This was a silly and arrogant tactic that failed miserably in my opinion. GBC was obviously going to be committed for trial by the magistrate but he thought he would get in first and avoid the magistrate considering the evidence and coming to a formal decision then saying the words "I am satisfied that there is sufficient evidence to commit GBC for trial". It didn't work, the magistrate was not going to let GBC interfere with his decision and said those words anyway. If GBC consented to be tried he could have done that before the committal and avoided the testing of the States evidence against him. He did not. So his consent to be tried was legally meaningless.

May 5, 2012 SMH

A woman who worked alongside the Baden-Clays at the agency has also been interviewed extensively, although why this particular colleague has been questioned is unclear.

Mrs Baden-Clay's grief-stricken parents, Geoff and Priscilla Dickie, hinted at the underlying discontent in their daughter's life in an interview with a Brisbane newspaper. Mrs Dickie said her daughter wasn't the type to complain.
Hinted? I'm hoping Allison spoke to a confidant.

Her best friend, Kerry-Anne Walker, told the newspaper Mrs Baden-Clay ''wouldn't have wanted anybody to think she failed at anything''. ''She wanted that appearance that things were good. She always looked good, whether she felt bad on the inside, she always looked good,'' she said.
''She told me things and I should have done more.''
No one would have expected Allison would be murdered (allegedly)
Mr Dickie said his son-in-law had phoned that fateful Friday morning with the news.
''He [Gerard Baden-Clay] just said she went for a walk and she didn't return - that's all he said,'' Mr Dickie said.
Hoping it will all be forgotten, minor details.....business as usual.
''If she was going for a walk in the morning, she'd have walked on the side of the road around Brookfield. She wouldn't have ventured into the middle of the bush somewhere.''
Allison would not have walked 14 klms to throw herself over a bridge.

They originally urged the public to reflect on whether they had seen the Baden-Clays' cars between 6.30pm that Thursday and 8am Friday, as they travelled through a busy intersection.
But after the missing person's inquiry became a murder investigation, they narrowed the timeframe, suggesting one of the family cars, a Holden Captiva and a Toyota Prado, could have been on the move between 11.30pm on April 19 and 4am the following day.
Mr Baden-Clay was involved in a single-vehicle accident two days after his wife disappeared. Asked about the accident, which resulted in a brief trip to hospital, Mr Baden-Clay answered a Channel Nine reporter almost bashfully.
''I was hurt a little bit, but I'm OK,'' he said, dipping his head ever so slightly.
Police say they have an ''open mind'' in the case, but are confident of making an arrest.
Mrs Baden-Clay's father says his family's prayers were answered when her body was found and now, ''the second prayer is that we find who did this awful thing to our daughter''.

This is all fairly standard in murder trials. Or was when I was a juror on a murder trial. Being taken to the scene is mind-altering, to say the least.
