I don't think the age progressed picture looks anything like Amanda. She looks exactly the same as the day she went missing IMO, just a little older but the same facial features and she still has that eyebrow piercing.

I think it looks a lot like her. Only her hair was pulled back in the recent photo.

Oh okay, just for clarification and with understanding that this is a very fluid situation:

So ur saying Michelle saw it when she first got there so he had at least two more victims prior to her (not surprised, just saddened). One that died and one that etched that in.

I don't know, I assumed that the name on the wall was the woman who disappeared soon after Michelle was kidnapped and that Ariel later added the RIP.

it must just be me. Everytime we have miracles like this when people are found much later and we have an age progressed photo I never think I would have recognized them from the age progression. I just don't see that similar of a likeness.

Age progress photo missed some of the features-widow peak and eyebrow piercing. But features look similar to Amanda's otherwise.

I wonder why they chose to give her blonde hair when he natural color is brown and most pics of her are also brown?

Sure, that would provide her a house number but she clearly gave the street with no hesitation. She didn't turn and ask someone she blurted it out quickly and anxiously.... She knew that address. And I only bring it because it adds an interesting layer of how they were held hostage. At the very least Amanda knew the name and age of her captor and knew the address.... I'm just wondering if he was moving these woman around at any time that she caught a street sign? Or maybe allowed to roam free in the house where she saw mail? It just made me wonder what in the world was going on for the past ten years!

Gina's Aunt lives on the same street, just a couple of hundred yards up the road. There was an interview with the Aunt outside her home and the reporter looked down the street to the police cars outside Castro's home. It was no distance at all. Also, If Gina was pals was Arlene then there is a good chance she would know the address.

Is it possible that Castro was the one molesting his daughters and he pointed at Colon to explain away their injuries and also to keep the heat off him.

Is it possible? Yes it is. He was a controlling abuser. So even after his wife left, he would have been jealous and angry about any other men in her life. That would be one way to get rid of him.

But in order to do that, the girl would have had to accuse him and the man would have had the opportunity. So yes it is possible. But it is also possible that the man doesn't like being on the sex offender list and that he sees this as an opportunity to place the blame elsewhere.

It could go either way. But unless the girls come forward and recant, we will never know.

People still willingly let them into their houses. It was said that "that would never work here", implying people wouldn't stand for it. That is very hasty judgment and not proven correct. Nobody knows under which circumstances people are willing to consent to this, or even just obey without consent. What if they did know a kidnapped child might still be in the area? What if they tracked a car to a neighborhood but then lost it? Never say never.

I didn't get the same implication. I took "that would never work here" to mean that the circumstances were different and there was not enough information available to justify a door to door search in any given area.

Also, have we gotten any info on where in the house they were kept? And how they were kept?

Has there been any info related to Ashley Summers at all?

How credible is this source? It does seem to support the idea that Colon might have been framed.

I haven't seen anything on this thread about Christina Adkins. She disappeared years prior to Michelle. If Castro has lived here for 24 years, as reported, then he lived at this address when Adkins disappeared. It's a possibility that Adkins is the one that Michelle saw there who disappeared. It may also be her name on the basement wall with the RIP.

The abductions were so close together, I can't help but wonder why. Surely three girls is even more trouble and certainly more risky than just one. Did he get cocky and think it was easy? Was there one for each brother? (sorry to add that stomach churner).

My point though - Michelle didn't make it onto the CharleyProject. If there was another kidnapping before her then maybe that girl wasn't on there either. Or maybe from out of state? Another 'runaway'.

Correct. That makes sense to me too, since the photo of him standing in front of the basement door is from 2001 (BEFORE Michelle was kidnapped) -- and it clearly has a padlock on it. Who was down there in 2001?!

The suggestion up thread was that if people knew police could randomly come and search houses these things would maybe stop happening. I said that would never happen in the US because of our constitution.
LE can not search without cause in the case of a crime they can ask to search but they have to have just cause to do so without consent. .

I believe I read they were malnourished so that would account for the thinner face now. I think it looks alot like her if she put on about 20 lbs.

It's not about whether it worked or not. I replied to someone who stated people in the US wouldn't allow LE to just search their houses. Yes they would, if the circumstances are right. And who knows when they are?
