BBM. You are so right. These girls' dignity has been taken enough.

That is going to be one massive complaint.

You know what? Two men, regardless of their backgrounds, decided to get involved. I don't care how - they both did. Why aren't we celebrating that? Why turn something wonderful into something ugly? Isn't there enough of that? Charles has already said he wants any reward to go to the girls. Can we stop it? Or at least leave the ugly mutterings about people who had the courage and grace to get involved, to the appropriate thread?

Oh, I hope she is going somewhere private and peaceful!!!! Bless her heart!

So sweet!

There is a question of whether two men actually did get involved. Charles is now saying that Angel did not help but rather ran back across the street with his tail between his legs. I'm not trying to turn anything wonderful into something ugly, I'm interested in the truth. I don't want to see the real hero (whoever he may be) ignored, nor do I want to see a fraud rewarded. If Charles is lying, there is nothing wonderful, courageous, or graceful about it. I would consider it a very dispicable thing to do.

THANK YOU. BOTH of these men stepped up and went to that porch and helped a woman in escaping this monster. BOTH of them deserve nothing but praise, imo. Many might have looked the other way, afraid to get involved or not caring to.

I am quite ticked off that the results of the DNA paternity test for Amanda's daughter has been released to the public. I would think this would be classfied as medical information and HIPAA has been violated. I am incensed that this information would be released!

although, I hear your point I don't think it falls under HIPAA because the test is done by the court. It becomes a matter of public record.

very cool: https://www.facebook.com/ClevelandCourageFund

The Cleveland Courage Fund serves to provide immediate, ongoing assistance and facilitate the long-term recovery and healing of Gina DeJesus, Michelle Knight, Amanda Berry and her daughter Jocelyn as well as their family members.

Cleveland Courage Fund of the Cleveland Foundation was established by Cleveland City Council members Brian Cummins, Dona Brady and Matt Zone.

I think this is a very noble and good cause for an immediate assistance to these women. I hope though, that is not all they can get in compensation from the City of Cleveland.

Angel's story didn't change at all, as far as I can tell. He always maintained he was the one to break the door.

Given the difference in size and disposition in my opinion it is more likely that Charles did the most effective kicking.

Forgive me for asking--I've skimmed this whole thread, but I can't find the answers I'm looking for.

1. I have not heard much at all about the two other brothers. Are they involved???

2. I understand that Ariels' wife passed away a few years ago of an inoperable brain tumor and this tumor is related to him beating her?? Did she live in the house, too???

3. Have I missed details of where they were all held in the house?

4. Ariel hasn't had a job for quite some time, how did he earn money?

5. How old is the little girl? Is she school age yet?

I don't understand why police or FBI has not looked into Castro, even if Fernando did not tell them. Castro's daughter Arlene was the one with Gina walking home before Gina went missing. Apparently Gina now says that before Arlene and Gina separated, they talked to Castro. Castro left then came back after the two girls separated and offered Gina a ride.
As I understand it, Arlene didn't mention that (at least she didn't in AMW interview) but still why didn't they look at Castro? They looked into step-father (Fernando) but not into father (Castro)? Makes no sense to me.

"'The last one to see Gina'
After Gina DeJesus disappeared, Arlene Castro told investigators that she and her friend went their separate ways when their sleepover was nixed. But according to a Cleveland police report issued Wednesday, Gina DeJesus has added a new detail. She says that before they separated, they also talked to Ariel Castro. After the girls split up, DeJesus now says, Ariel Castro returned and offered her a ride, which she accepted."

I agree. And if they had talked to his ex or her family they would have found out that he had routinely beaten and terrorized his wife for years.

And if they had gone to his home to interview him they would have had a few red flags pop up too. JMO

And my opinion is otherwise.

In a week , they both will be forgotten, and the country will move on. If you work to be recogized by others, you will be disheartened. One just has to know their own truth, feel good about their actions and move forward. Any money or celebrity is secondary and fleeting

I beg to differ. I honestly don't know who did what but Ramsey did say "we kicked the bottom of the door" indicating he didn't do that alone. When did he say Cordero ran back with his tail between his legs? I must have missed that. Since Cordero is capable of doing interviews he shouldn't have any problems voicing his own truth. Regardless Ramsey kicked the door or not, he did make the 911 call being recorded and played many times on TV.

I believe both men did some parts to help and at this point I really don't care who did what. The most importantly thing is that two civilians stepped in to help and release four lives from hell. That, we have something to celebrate!

See Charles Ramsey's thread. Will your opinion change if you learn that Charles has changed his story to say that Angel (who he calls "the Domincan") refused to help?

The test was not for medical treatment - the test was via court order for evidence in a criminal trial. That's a completely different matter and not covered by HIPAA.

1> The brothers were arrest on open container violations.I assume when the police entered the address or AC names in their computer they must have found the outstanding warrants on the brothers. They have been released and found to be uninvolved in this tragedy.
2>She died in 2012. Their have been reports of brain cancer/tumor. NO reports that it was from her head injuries sustained by AC. But yes,I thought the same thing the tumor could have been secondary to the years of head injuries. Although, no evidence. It would be a good thing to be forensicly investigated. If clinical evidence could be found,he could be charged with the appropriate felonies
3>First in the basement , then upstairs. Sometimes n the attic. A couple of times in the garage.
4>Unemployment
5>6 years old. She was born on Christmas day.

I will answer what I can.
1. Both brothers are not thought to be involved at this time.

2. AC ex-wife passed away bc of a brain tumor, if it was caused by the beatings she suffered is unknown. IIRC she left AC for good in 1995 or 1996, so no she would not have been living in the house at the same time as the girls.

3. Not sure that information has been confirmed but I remember hearing something about the basement and an upstairs bedroom.

4. He has been receiving unemployment benifits since he lost his job as a school bus driver in Nov.

5. J is six. So yes, kindergarden age.

HTH, and if I have anything wrong somebody please correct me. TIA

I see now Carmenugt beat me to it and she said it much better than I did!!

The difference between this case and Jaycee Dugard's case is that offender in Jaycee's case was on parole. There were supposed to monitor him and they didn't do it well. Whereas in this case Castro was not on parole for anything.
None of the other victims (Elizabeth Smart, Shawn Hornbeck, etc) got compensation from police as far as I can tell. You can not usually sue police for not solving your case.

All that is true but in this case 4 women went missing in the same vicinity a year a part. More should have been done.

That clears my questions up :)
