Poor Michelle. How many times can one person be victimized?

The article says the person responsible for the identity fraud knows her family. I hope her family wasn't somehow involved in it, too. :(

It also says that the "person" changed their address to Florida around the same time that Michelle's mother moved to Florida.

Certainly seems rather obvious to me.

I find it to be an obscene twist of the knife. It is disgusting.

I agree. I saw the video, and I'm like....."who is that guy, kissing her on the side of the neck, grabbing a squeeze here and there??" My husband, whose cynicism at times, astounds even me, said, "Probably just some guy after her money.

She didn't seem to be acting negatively to it. Maybe who ever he is, knows what she wants, needs better then outsiders.

Anyways, thats between the two of them. If he was behaving inappropriately, that may be the last time he will ever touch her.

My first thought was to wonder if it was her Mom. It is obvious to me too. I hope they charge whoever it was. But especially if it was her mom.

I hope that's not true.

She did, however, look very happy, healthy and carefree, which was so nice to see.

Oh yikes... I hadn't seen the video, just the still shots. I hope she's ok. I'm so glad she looks happy, healthy, and carefree, like you said. Her smile's huge!

Just more proof that her family is scum.

I wish Michelle's mother could be charged with something. What a despicable excuse for a human.

But sources close to the family of Gina DeJesus tell us that neither she nor Amanda Berry or Michelle Knight is likely to be in the courtroom.
...snipped...
Russo expects a long day of evidence from both parties. Channel 3 News will have gavel-to-gavel coverage on air and on wkyc.com beginning at 9 a.m. Thursday.

HLN will be covering the sentencing live also. I wonder if any of them will give impact statements? I hope they do if it is in anyway therapeutic for them.

The article posted above said the ladies won't be there but could have the prosecutor or a victim's advocate give their statement. I doubt they want to face that slimeball ever again.

It does say that right there in your post doh!

Just read a bunch of tweets from a reporter with WOIO, news station in Cleveland.

https://twitter.com/ScottTaylor19

I think his source is a sentencing memorandum for Ariel Castro released in court this afternoon although I don't know for sure.

He posts details of how Castro lured each girl into his house.
MICHELLE - promised her a puppy for her son
AMANDA - said his daughter wanted to see her but was taking a shower
GINA - offered her a ride home (?)

Also, all 3 women were kept in restraints almost all the time, not allowed to use the downstairs bathroom and instead they had to use plastic toilets in the upstairs.

He used the cold of the basement and the heat of the attic as punishment, and repeatedly threatened them with a firearm.
Castro also told the girls that he had other victims, some who had made it home and others who had not.

Amanda found out in the house that her mother had passed away...

I'm too angry and sad to type anymore at this point. :stormingmad:
There's more details coming in right now on Scott Taylor's twitter account which can be accessed through the link above.

Calmed down a bit, I'll try to type some more.

- All three women were kept in a car in his garage for 3 days in 2005 while he entertained guests
- Story of Michelle saving Amanda's daughter's life through artificial respiration is accurate
- Castro aborted Michelle's 2006 pregnancy by punching, kicking and jumping on her stomach
- All three girls kept diaries and wrote of their desire to be reunited with their families
- He terrorized the girls by saying that he was hunting for replacements and left them to wonder what would happen to them if they were replaced
- Almost every entry in Amanda Berry's journal was to her mother
- Castro claims that he left his daughter and Amanda's door unlocked in May because he had no "exit plan"

I can't really describe how I feel reading the details of this ordeal...Awful just doesn't really seem to come near to describing it...
Anyway, here's Scott Taylor's twitter account again: https://twitter.com/ScottTaylor19
Not 100% sure what his source is.

They all kept diaries. That makes me wonder. In order to write a diary, they would need access to a writing instrument and something to write on. The women had no privacy and they were subject to him finding that diary. That makes me wonder if perhaps he made them keep the diary? Like maybe he got off on reading how they felt about the abuse, maybe got a chance to relive it through their words?

Michelle Knight will likely testify in person tomorrow at Ariel Castro's sentencing hearing.

I also thought that was interesting, that Castro had no problem with letting them keep diaries.
I think I read somewhere that Michelle made of book of drawings or something like that, I wonder what other means, if any, they had of passing time.

For a guy that was so paranoid about security and being discovered, he was amazingly careless about leaving damning evidence lying around.
I always thought it was bizarre that he would keep a "suicide" letter completely admitting his guilt tucked away in drawer for 9 years.

From Cazzba's posts above:

That makes me really sad. :(

I hope she is able to. And I kinda wondered if perhaps Amanda would too. It won't be easy for them. But to see him, in a prison uniform, under guard, on trial. And to look him in the eye to tell him what is on their mind, I hope will be healing for them. To stand up in defiance in a way they have never been able to before. To let him know they are not broken, that he didn't take that from them. Kind of a formal ending to their ordeal so that they can move on with their lives.

But yes it will take a lot of strength. And if they can't, then I can understand. And perhaps they don't even need that. Perhaps for them just knowing will be enough. They need to do what is right for them.
