:moo: Now this is interesting :

Rafaelle Sollecito will be on the Katie Couric Show today, September 18, at 3:00 pm CST

:waitasec: I guess he'll be promoting his book ?

:waitasec: I wonder IF he will have his daddy, sister and PR team at his side ?

:waitasec: I wonder IF Katie will hit him with some hardball questions, and not softball questions ?

:moo: I will watch to see HOW Rafaelle will be "spinning" his "story" ... as there is nothing that he can say that is "believable" IMO ...

American Amanda Knox, the former college student cleared of murder by an Italian court last year, remains in touch with the ex-boyfriend with whom she was initially convicted of killing her roommate in Italy, the former boyfriend said on Tuesday.

:waitasec: As usual, the media continues to get it wrong : they have NOT been cleared of murder as the 2011 appeal still has to go before the Supreme Court of Italy, which is currently set for March 2013 ...

JMO and MOO ... but I am NOT surprised that these two are in touch ... I guess it is to keep their "stories" straight ...

To the underwear debate: She had been wearing the same pair of underwear for a couple of days as she could not get to her belongings and was getting her period. Who wouldn't go out and buy some new underwear?

I just read his book. It's very honest and forthright, and answers all questions people had for him. His narrative of events makes complete sense and fits with all the facts known (which is the opposite for the prosecution's narrative), and reveals even more so how poorly the investigation was handled. I highly recommend it to anyone who still has questions about the case. I know it put to rest a lot of misconceptions that were heavily debated in this thread.
Anyone who still thinks that an innocent person wouldn't act strange after a murder or that a prosecutor would never compromise moral integrity to win a case, or that a jury can get things wrong should look into the Michael Morton case. It shares many parallels with this one, at least as far as what got these people convicted in the first instance.

I think their stories are perfectly straight. She doesn't remember, and neither does he. That is what you get when you smoke a joint in the afternoon. It will wipe out your memory of the entire night ;)

Raffaele Sollecito: 'I'm unsure where Amanda Knox was that night'

But he never said he doesn’t remember anything that night (and neither does the article), so why repeat this falsehood?
True. Only minor things like if his gf was with him the night her roommate got murdered slipped his mind, but then he certainly would have remembered the doorbell if she had gone out. That is how marijuana works. You never forget about doorbells. So therefore they must have been together. Problem solved.

He is now certain she didn't leave his side: Knox didn't have a key to his apartment. If she had slipped out to murder Kercher, he writes, she would have had to ring the doorbell for him to let her back in. This didn't happen, says Sollecito.

If it were truly regular underwear, then yes, but it was lingerie shopping. Not normal...

And that is just one example how everything has been taken out of context by their supporters. Of course, buying lingerie and having sex is all normal, but not in the context where your roommate was just murdered. The 'funny' thing is that contrary to the claims of the supporters saying that everything they did was completely normal, Raffaele now admits in his book their behavior was bizarre and he blames Amanda for it.

Amanda bought some rather plain underwear at Bubbles, a general women's clothing shop near Raffaele's place in Perugia. It was perfectly normal, the tabloid press just made it sound more exciting.

JMO ... BUT IF my roommate, friend or family member had just been MURDERED with whom I was living, the LAST THING on my mind would be my underwear !

Meredith was brutally MURDERED in COLD BLOOD !

In addition to "underwear", there are a number of other things that would be LAST on my mind as well !

I would be frightened, scared, worried, and helping LE find the KILLER ...

BUT Amanda [and Raffaelle] did NOTHING to help LE ... and in addition to that, her behavior was not "normal" for an individual who just had her roommate murdered -- which was testified to by the other two young ladies who lived in the flat with Meredith and Amanda.

Amanda is the one who made the "underwear" an issue ... she thought it was "funny" ... how "CHILLING", considering her "friend" was just murdered !

The murder was discovered about 1:30 pm on Nov. 2. Amanda and Raffaele spent that night at the police station answering questions. At 5:30 am on the morning of Nov. 3 they were allowed to leave, and told to come back at 11 am. They spent most of the afternoon at the police station. On the evening of Nov. 3, Amanda bought some underwear at Bubbles. Shortly after 11 pm that night, they were back at the police station for another session that lasted into the wee hours of the next morning.

Saying they did nothing to help the police is simply a lie. In the days after the murder, Amanda spent most of her time at the police station and got almost no sleep.

:moo:

And don't forget that when Amanda was at the police station "allegedly helping LE" ... she FALSELY ACCUSED an INNOCENT African man of Meredith's murder : Patrick Lumumba.

Mr. Lumumba was beaten and spent 2 weeks wrongfully incarcerated AS A RESULT OF one of many of Amanda Knox's LIES !

There was absolutely NO reason to make up this LIE ! It was wrong !

And she was NOT coerced or forced into pointing the finger at an INNOCENT MAN ... JMO, but Amanda did this to "throw" the investigators OFF of her track, OFF of RS's track, and OFF the track of the African man who WAS at the cottage -- Rudy Guede ! She knew Rudy was there because she was there ...

Actually it's not your opinion. You are simply repeating the tabloid talking points that have plagued this case from the early days.

To understand this case, it helps to look at another. Watch Frontline: The Confessions and you will see how a suspect can be coerced into writing a "confession" that isn't true. In that case, the investigator got four men in sequence to falsely confess to the same crime. All it took was one night in the interrogation room using the same techniques used against Amanda Knox.

In at least one way Amanda had it worse. When the interrogation started that led to her so called confession, she was already in a sleep deprived state.

Respectfully, I am not repeating anything from the "tabloid talking points" as I do NOT read tabloids ...

Actually, the first material I ever read about Meredith Kercher's murder was here at WS ... I did not follow this case in "real time", but started following it here at WS last year when I joined ... and WS does NOT allow "rumors" or "tabloids" ... "just the facts" !

Another informative site I read at is the True Justice for Meredith Kercher website, another site which allows only "just the facts" !

As to Amanda being "sleep deprived", that is what Amanda "claims" ... just like she "claims" she was "hit on the head" by the LE, yet NO claim has ever been filed by against the Italian LE for this "alleged abuse" ...

No matter how sleep deprived I am, I would NEVER EVER "confess" to something I did not do ... NEVER ...

Linas, Dog.Gone, and Sherlock:

In his book, Raffaele reveals that his defense asked the pre-trial judges for access to security cameras filming the route from his apartment to the cottage on the night of the murder. The judges denied this request without giving any reason. The request was again submitted to a review panel of three judges who deemed it "irrelevant" what the cameras might have to show.

So, to make this plainly clear: Raf and Amanda maintain that they stayed home all night, the prosecutions alleges they left to murder her roommate, there's security camera footage which would show them going or leaving home, and the courts deemed it "irrelevant" and unnecessary for the defense to see.

My question to you is, if Rafaelle and Amanda left his apartment and went to the cottage shortly after 8:45 the night of the murder, why on earth would they request that footage??? And why deny it to them???

This is much more compelling evidence than someone buying a thong the day after their roommate is murdered.

A thong is abnormal for a 21 year-old girl to buy?

Sorry, but I think this is more of a generational argument than it is anything to do with evidence of murder.

Does it not raise any flags to you that the fashion in which the interrogation was conducted is not at all able to be scrutinized because the police, who had been wiretapping hundreds of hours of phone conversations and taped the other roommates statements, did not record hers or Rafaelle's? Does it not raise a flag that immediately upon signing this statement, written in police legalese after illegally denying her a lawyer, Amanda retracted the storyline and said she was more sure that she stayed home that night?

Why take such a "confession" at face value when there's so many red flags about it?

Trujustice.org is an op-ed blog written by its members who all think the pair are guilty. It is hardly unbiased and if you try to write anything in their comments section that doesn't follow that line of thinking your comment is deleted and your ip is banned. The articles generally consist of bragging about how great the next prosecution's move is going to be, how Amanda and Rafaelle are doomed, and the site has a terrible history of making such predictions and immediately being proven wrong once the outcome arrives.

Not saying no one should read there, but the above disclaimer is certainly required if you're fresh to the case.
