I don't understand. The culunia case against AK was upheld in the Hellman verdict. She was given time served as the verdict. Was that case tried again too?

Patrick appealed and requested that the sentence be lengthened on the basis that Knox deliberately attempted to interfere in the investigation when she accused Patrick of murder.

Thing is, if Knox had settled her debt with Knox, the court might have refused the request. However, Knox has done nothing to settle her debt to Lumumba, so the whole issue was still open for consideration.

IMO Knox and Sollecito have deluded themselves into thinking they were victims to cope with the horrible crime they commited, and the delusions just got deeper and deeper.

I hope Sollecito will come to terms with what he did in prison and be honest with himself.

I totally, totally agree.

Did you ever find what Patrick was talking about in the interview?

No, but I'm sure there will be a news report about it soon.
I think that Knox owes Patrick some of her book proceeds.

I am SO shocked to find so many in agreement with this verdict. It's a travesty and locking people up just to save face isn't justice and won't bring Meredith back.

Some of us have looked at the evidence and come to our conclusions. We didn't just pull it out of thin air. I hope you can respect our opinions.

"Mignini had a vision of how this crime took place. He believed the crime started out as a sadistic sex game that turned into a brutal murder when Meredith refused to participate. His fantasy of a group sex game gone wrong was based on nothing more than his imagination. This is not the first time Mignini has had these visions. He already had a history of dreaming up satanic ritualistic murder fantasies. I will talk more about that below. "

Right he is a good guy..

Sorry.. This man is like having Michael Peterson Prosecute Drew Peterson.

This is not justice.

Please provide the link for that quote. As Mignini has given and interview where he said he never called it satonic ritual.

That was incredibly stupid of Amanda.

That information is from Douglas Preston. Douglas Preston was interviewed by Mignini when he interfered with the investigation into the Monster of Florence case. Preston was really angry about that, and he viewed this case as an opportunity to express his fantasy about the prosecutor.

It's a scary world we live in that innocent people like Amanda Knox and Rafaelle Sollecito can be persecuted time and again just to fit into a corrupt agenda!!

  • #609
Yep. This appeal then she can appeal again, And then the court can appeal again. IT is a long insane process. One that is not about justice but just getting people.

I'm sorry, I don't agree.

Guilty! Indeed!

Time to celebrate Italian style! :D:loveyou:
Buy Baci chocolate, it's made in Perugia!!! Justice for Meredith!!:loveyou:

Quick question...was anybody in the least bit surprised?

:seeya: Not at all ...

JMO and MOO, but I don't think Knox and Sollecito are surprised at all either.

:moo:

Some people seem to think the entire case against <modsnip> was some sort of huge conspiracy to frame an American girl.
Every police officer, forensic examiner, every juror & judge conspired to do this.

Prove the conspiracy.....

It was. I was shocked when Patrick appealed to have his settlement reheard and it was approved. Knox should have demonstrated good will and cleared up the matter as soon as she received her $3.2 million. She owed him €22,000, which would not have been a hardship to repay. Had she done that, it still might have been reconsidered, but I think it would have been less likely.

It looks like the 3 year sentence was extended to 3.5 years, plus the 25 for murder.

Really a quick google shows who this guy is. It is not just this case, Nor the monster of Florence case. He is a corrupt slug. I am hoping that again the next court will find something else to try him on.
This justice system is not justice. IT is shameful.

I said days ago...thumbing her nose at the court wasn't cute or endearing! She's done that repeatedly.

I wonder if the University of Washington views this as a huge conspiracy, or whether they will request that their student, convicted of murder, no longer spend time on campus. It wouldn't surprise me if students filed complaints about not wanting a murderer amongst them.

I was in Perugia last year and it isn't just Americans who think Sollectio and Amanda Knox are being unduly prosecuted. MANY Italians recognize the unsavory tactics of the shady, underhanded prosecutor Mignini. He openly promoted his Satanic cult theory and without a shred of information to support it, he claimed that Knox and Sollecito are members. He is on a vendetta and presents his wild imaginings as evidence. Many Italians openly question not only his judgement & honesty but his own sanity. He should be locked up.

I trust the Italian Supreme Court will overturn this latest fiasco.

He seems to have gotten something right, in that the evidence clearly shows they are guilty. Perhaps he didn't get the motive exactly right, he got the rest right. There was no conspiracy to produce all the evidence in the case. On top of that, he couldn't put words in their mouths - what they said and are still saying come from their own mouths (Amanda and Raffaele).

Guilty in our language?
I have an Italian dictionary, took it in high school. GUILTY=colpevole

I assume it comes from the Latin root- culpable?

I certainly wouldn't be happy if I was paying to send my kid there.

.......But maybe they bought into Amanda the victim line her PR machine spun?

It's such sadness for everyone involved.
I feel badly for Amanda and Raffaele's parents tonight.
