I see absolutely zero chance on another appeal. Sollecito WILL serve his time. He should as stated above, clear his conscience. Apologize profusely and ask forgiveness from the Kercher family and give them the whole story.

He could be out of prison by around 38-40, possibly sooner. which still leaves him with nearly half his life to live. Live it out with the tiny bit of dignity left that can be mustered.

What? This automatically goes to appeal, Then if upheld Then it goes to appeal again if AK and RS want it.

There are lots of appeals ahead.

None of them will be successful. It's just dragging things through the mud.

Very disappointing decision.

But not unexpected. I have a feeling in addition to this being a hollow victory for the prosecution, it also must not be vindication in any sort of way for the Kercher family. They know any verdict this court announces is suspect due to the way the investigation was mishandled. One murdered, several lives tainted forever, and no real justice done.

One already was. She was found not guilty and retried.. But the insanity of this system.

I have read about this PR machine over and over, who was involved in this machine and how did they infiltrate the media and people's psyche? Amanda's parents look like your typical middle class income families, where did they acquire the riches and funds to afford such a huge PR machine?

"Yet for Knox and her family, Marriott was as important a player in her ordeal as anyone in the courtroom. As Knox’s publicist, beginning three days after her arrest, Marriott worked to convince the international public that she did not murder her British roommate while studying in Perugia.

“Hiring him was one of the smartest things we ever did,” said Curt Knox, Amanda’s father.

The partnership between the Knox family and Marriott illustrates the potential of a public relations campaign to shift sentiment — and possibly even influence a verdict. With Amanda Knox safely back on American soil, Marriott and the family can now provide a behind-the-scenes glimpse of what went into the campaign."

It may appear to be an average family, but there were four working parents contributing a portion of their income to pay for Knox's troubles.

That is not a power rich machine.. These are middle class people.. not rich people and EVEN if they were so what?
Why is it that people have this thing against people with money fighting to support their loved ones. They did not need a PR machine. Anyone can see the injustice here.

Apparently not "anyone" can see the injustice here. I certainly don't see any injustice today, and from the looks of here and many other places on the internet there a lot of people that agree with me. (To be fair there are a lot that agree with you, I'd say it's 50/50 ish, but far from anyone or everyone)

No anyone can not see the injustice here, clearly this case is hugely divided. Personally I've have followed this case since jan 2008, I know the evidence well and made my own mind up. I believe them guilty (as do many) based on the case. I don't have to believe in a conspiracy between judges, prosecutors, witnesses, and police to reach my opinion either. I don't care about their pr campaign.

Raff and Amanda would be getting out of prison soon if they had accepted their guilt and taken the fast track option. Their accomplice, Guede, got a standard third reduction of his sentence by accepting that option. He also apologized in court to the Kercher Family.

The cost just to the Knox Family is rumored to be more than a MILLION $$ so far. Amanda supposedly repaid some of that with the book deal. A drawn out extradition fight will be at least that much. With no more book deals and waning public support, where's that $$ coming from?

Yes it does seem a bit unfair that he will likely end up in jail, and America will probably fight her extradiction to Italy due to your double jeopardy laws.......I really hope that if this is the case he gets angry at this injustice and tells the truth!!! I for one am convinced they were there when she was murdered............I don't know which of the three actually killed her though.....

:seeya: Not at all ...

JMO and MOO, but I don't think Knox and Sollecito are surprised at all either.

:moo:

I'm kind of thinking that also - that Knox and Sollecito were not surprised. So it is interesting to me that Sollecito showed up and did not run off to the Dominican Republic, or where ever he was. Did he know that he would not be incarcerated today and would only have to turn over his travel documents?

So he fielded interviews and enlisted family and friends to speak on Amanda's behalf? That is it? That is the huge PR machine?

By enlisting her friends and family, and targeting specific news organizations to tell the family’s story, Marriott eventually helped reshape how the world saw the young American.

Then, in early 2008, Marriott took the publicity campaign one step further by persuading Amanda’s lawyers to allow the Knox family to give interviews.

We shall see, I'm confident that the appeals will fail.

I would agree with that. The verdict was appealed by Knox and Sollecito and that appeal has now been heard. Any objections they had regarding the verdict were addressed in the appeal.

The Judge will issue a summary report in 90 days. The lawyers will pick through it, looking to object to something, but this Judge seems very solid and I don't think his reasoning, logic and report will fall apart.

The Supreme Court will hear the request for another appeal, and will then most likely confirm the verdicts.
