Amber was last seen in Columbia, Tennessee on April 11, 2004. She left her mother's home with James Gordon, one of her friends. She was supposed to return in two days, but never did. When questioned about Amber's disappearance, Gordon said he had left her with another friend, Ronald "California" Inzurriaga. Authorities have since located Inzurriaga in a federal prison in Alabama. He says he does not know Amber's whereabouts.
Amber was originally considered to be a runaway, and may still be considered that by some organizations. She may have traveled to Georgia or Texas. Her disappearance remains unsolved.
