Speculation but to me it sounds like there were two vehicles.

They started to keep an eye on him in the fall. They somehow knew he was offloading car #1. According to Vetere, the cops were going to various auto parts shops to try to find it and got lucky when they made it to his in Courtice. Seems like they did some work on this car, found something, but not enough to get a warrant to search the apartment?

Last week they intercepted him "[trying] to enter an auto wrecking yard"; it also had blood (fresh???? speculation), giving them the warrant for the Thorncliffe apartment - seemingly he was also arrested when he was intercepted.

There is perhaps a 3rd vehicle involved - the truck that was being towed from one of the houses the other day (Scarborough house?)
There was also a vehicle that was towed from his Thorncliffe apartment.

To me it wouldn't make sense if they are about the same incident because the police did not intercept him in Courtice. In Courtice he did not "try" to "allegedly" drive into an autowrecking yard - in Courtice, he sold his car, a week before the police caught up to it. Nor did they have the warrant in September when they found his car at Dom's.
Yeah, I could be wrong, that's just how I interpreted it. I remember the CP24 crime specialist laid out how the warrants transpired, and he also used the word "intercepted" to describe the car situation at Dom's in Courtice. Not the greatest choice of words but that's what I recall him saying. The owner of Dom's said that they do wreck cars, but they hold on to them a bit longer before doing so than other yards, which is why he said LE were lucky.

There was a fifth property, a condo in Don Mills, belonging to an ex boyfriend. I remember reading that the fella was very upset, his phone had been seized and he was banned from his condo. Also staying with friends until he could re-enter. IMO

The Madoc and Scarborough properties have been released by LE and RH is not a suspect in this case.

As part of their investigation, police scoured five properties connected to Mr. McArthur, including the two owned by B H as well as three in Toronto, which are still being investigated: Mr. McArthur's Thorncliffe Park apartment, the condo of his ex-partner near Eglinton Avenue East and Don Mills Road and a house in Leaside, where Mr. McArthur did yard work for the owners and stored equipment in the garage.

Accused killer Bruce McArthur’s 2003 assault conviction led to DNA order

Though the DNA was taken over a decade ago, former Toronto police homicide cop Mark Valois said it’s “absolutely” possible that information aided in his most recent arrest
Accused killer Bruce McArthur was sentenced for assault more than a decade ago, in a ruling that prohibited him from owning weapons for 10 years and ordered samples of his DNA to be taken and placed in a database.
Mark Valois, a former Toronto police homicide officer who is now director of academic training at the Canadian Tactical Officers Association, said the sample is generally mandatory “if you hurt somebody.”

“Basically, that’s what it boils down to. Domestic situations, anything to do with kids, obviously any type of sexual offences,” Valois said, adding that the sample is typically kept on file indefinitely.

Yes, thank you for this! I've been waiting for an article detailing his prior assault conviction. It's so important that judges impose these DNA orders, as well. They are vital for LE.

As a Canadian, I feel I'm more versed in US laws. I never realized that somebody convicted of assault was required to provide a DNA sample. Good thing they do!!!

Yeah it's one thing that I am very grateful for. I've known of cases where there were no assault convictions, but DNA orders were issued. Once you're in the Canadian justice system, it's a serious deal. They want to deter folks from committing offences again in the future, and they want to be able to find you fast, if you do.

Well, thats a lucky break for the TPS!

The article only speculates the DNA might have been used. I don't actually think it was, there's no crime scene or bodies for DNA to have been retrieved from.

I think police more likely used the victim's digital footprints and social media networks, and identified him as connected with Andrew Kinsman plus another missing man at least, and with a job that would make it easy to dispose of bodies.
