Angela left her home in Wilkesboro, North Carolina at approximately 9:30 am on October 29, 1982 to go to the bank. She planned to deliver a message to her sister afterward, then return home to go on an out-of-town shopping trip with her mother. When Angela didn't return home by noon, her mother called the bank and discovered that she had never made it there. She also hadn't been to see her sister.
Later that day, Angela's car was discovered abandoned in the back of a restaurant in Wilkesboro. Her pocketbook and driver's license were inside, but her money and keys were gone. Witnesses reported seeing Angela drive her car to that location around 11:30 am. She was accompanied by a "rough looking" blonde man at the time. She has never been heard from again.
