That's not what I personally think happened. I don't believe she fled anywhere and left the house without any shoes on because someone didn't think of that. JMO

I don't think it's what happened either, but it seems possible.

Conceivably -- and I'm not saying this is what I think happened -- she might have grabbed the first thing she found to protect her feet. If she was leaving hastily in order to get away from an unpleasant situation, for instance. They might not even have been hers.

My two of my girls are 13 . They live in a neighborhood and do grab flip flops and run out in the winter all the time. If they are running arround the corner to the friends house ,they dont care. They have both worn them to school in dec and only dont when it is raining or snowing. There sister is a bit better but not much and she is 20.

If Hailey was going close then I think it is possible she did grab flip flops. My VA girls can rock them in the cold here ,I am sure Hailey could rock them in TX cold.

I wasn't sure where to post this, but it might have implications for searchers and future evidence:

CNN Headline on the main page:

All but two Texas counties have wildfires

http://www.cnn.com/2011/US/04/18/texas.forest.fires/index.html?hpt=T2

They've arrested a man from a homeless camp near Austin.

Gov. Rick Perry has written to Obama for federal help with the disaster (I guess this means Texas won't be seceding anytime soon :innocent: ).

I've seen plenty of teens wear flip flops in the winter. Some will even wear them when there is snow on the ground.
To the question of whether Hailey even owned flip flops, show me a person under 30 who doesn't. Especially teens. My son is 25, he owns several pair. I was at the doctor's office the other day, when it was pretty chilly that morning, and saw a woman about 40 wearing flip flops, and a jacket.

What??????? People are losing their homes and their lives! This is not funny, it's tragic. Sorry, I just don't see the humor.

It would be interesting to know if indeed Hailey owned a pair of flip flops. I know that sounds strange how many of us don't. But, this whole mix up on shoes has bothered me. I'd love to see a picture of Hailey in flip flops. Unfortunately it appears there are not many picturs of Hailey in the last year or so. Or they are being held back for some reason.
Grandmaj - I agree with you. So very few pictures of her in the past year - In fact, so very few pictures of her. Period.
