Well, I just checked on Amazon, and the new album was number 1 in sales both yesterday and today.

Gotta say, I listened to the samples, and while I've never been a Dixie Chicks fan, (I prefer more of a classic country than most of these newbies that all sound alike to me) I think I will become one. I'm not sure I'd call it country, but I liked it.

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!

I just watched the ACM Awards hosted by Reba McEntire!! For those who didn't see it, she had the BEST line!!!

She said 'I don't know why I was nervous about hosting this tonight. I mean, if the Dixie Chicks can sing with their foot in their mouth, surely I can host this sucker!'

After their comment about Reba, I had wondered if she'd say anything. The crowd went wild with laugher and clapping! PRICELESS!!!!

BTW, Keith won Male Vocalist - AGAIN!!!

Here ya go:

For band member Martie Maguire, the controversy was a blessing in disguise.

"I'd rather have a small following of really cool people who get it, who will grow with us as we grow and are fans for life, than people that have us in their five-disc changer with Reba McEntire and Toby Keith," Maguire said. "We don't want those kinds of fans. They limit what you can do."      :snooty: :snooty: :snooty:

Oh My! They ARE getting ballsy...geesh!
My momma always said (<<<- in my best Forrest Gump Voice  ) "if ya don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all". Did no one teach them this?! Need they be so critical of everything?! Geesh!
I think they are super talented and I really love their music, but they really need to think before they speak. They are making theirselves look very foolish...not good PR!

Thanks Jules!

the latest....dixie chicks trash THE VIEW

"Ah, now it's on, bee-otch! You may be able to get away with insulting the President, but no one talks smack about The View. Wait, what am I saying? Everyone talks smack about The View. It's incredibly talk-smackable, or smack-talkable, or whatever. Anyway, I missed this morning's episode because I was busy engaging in one of forty million other activities I enjoy instead of watching that particular yakfest, but apparently the ladies took some objection to a comment one of the Dixie Chicks made to Newsweek. One member stated, "Would Bruce do The View?" referring to Bruce Springsteen and his career path, which the Dixie Chicks hope to emulate. I'm not sure which is stranger to me, their attack on The View or that they actually think they're in the same league as Bruce Springsteen"

LOL I heard what Reba said and I thought it was priceless!!! Country music singers and their fans are notoriously pro-America and big supporters of the military. They also have long memories. I think the Dixie Chicks are going to have to venture into other areas of music if they plan on having any sort of career in the future. I don't think they'll ever be welcomed back into the "country music family." Of course, fans of other types of music might not want them either.

I know, and its a shame because I always enjoyed their music, and now I feel like I just dont want to listen to them at all. I love the show Medium and this weeks finale had a song on it called Lullaby, and I thought to myself this is a pretty good song well its the chicks....I may have liked and even still like their music but I will never spend one red cent on a cd. JMO They are really putting their feet in their mouths everytime they open. Their CD Wide Open Spaces should be changed to Wide Open Mouths.....I cant believe Reba said that.....I am glad she did....

The funniest thing about Reba's comment was the audience reaction. Many jumped up clapping and hollering! John Rich was laughing so hard he almost fell out of his chair!

It really was priceless.

Jeana, I agree. I doubt they will EVER be welcomed back into the country fold again.
