I missed Reba's line also but knowing Reba she had that smirk on her face.Reba has an always will be a class act in my eyes.Michelle I agree with ya about the Dixie Chicks song being called .I really think this time they Bite of more then they will be able to Chew.I will have to see who is opening for them now.

I've always liked Reba; bought her albums and watched her TV show. Last night she showed no class so I'm done with that. While I don't necessarily support the Chicks, I do support their right to speak their point of view without retaliation, or is that not what the right to freedom of speech is all about?

I'm assuming this is directed at me...

The reason I applaude Reba's comment is because she was lumped into whatever agenda the Chicks have. She didn't ask to be put in that position. The Chicks put her there - for whatever reason. I can understand the Chicks comment about Toby Keith, but not about Reba.

People seem to forget that along with our rights comes responsiblity. As has been said before I may not agree with what you say but I will defend to the death your right to say it. Even the DC. You can say whatever you want but be prepared to take whatever consequences result. That is what being a responsible grown up American is all about.

Toby even made a public statement he will not say another word. As the death told him Life was to short. So what do the Chicks do again. Bring him up.

Sure they can speak their minds but why put us fans down who spent money on their CD's? And why bring up two other respected artists who had nothing to do with this. Speak your mind and talk about yourself and leave Reba and Toby out of it. But most of all, don't put me down when I've bought 3 of their albums. I am so upset by their comments to their fans that I want to break their CDs and I know I will NEVER buy another one of them. No I don't "get it" and I don't WANT to "get it" because I don't care about their agenda... I just liked their music but that isn't even good enough for me now adays. Reba and Toby... I will continue to buy your records and yes... they did put their feet in their mouths and they can live with the consequence.

That's why its never a good idea to say something bad about someone - especially when that someone has never done anything to deserve it. As most posters here know, I've been greatly defending the Chicks of late (and will happily continue to do so).

But I think Reba McIntyre's remark was rather generous, under the circumstances. Given the Time article, she pretty much had to say something, didn't she? The "foot in mouth" remark was quite witty and none too harsh, considering lots of things she might have said. Yeah, Reba! Quite the class act, IMHO.

I still think they were just invoking Reba as an artist with the widest possible country fan base. But your interpretation also makes sense (given the history) and the reference to Reba might well have been re-thought.

You know I wondered if Reba would have something to say. Reba is a very class act.She also can be one of the funniest people.her pot shots last night at other bands were priceless.The one about the Vegas girls after Trace Adkins sand was great. And her rematk about all the ladies getting in the pool for Chesney . And then she pops off with I justr got my hair dried.

As long as we're discussing Reba McIntyre, it should be mentioned that she has had considerable success on TV and on Broadway. Not at all common for a country singer.
