I know that just shows you they open mouth insert Feet to many times.

I think it's quite possible Maguire was spouting off at the mouth when she made the original comment about Reba and probably received a lot of flack for her comment. It's no secret how the Chicks feel about Toby. By her second comment regarding Reba, she can say 'well, I heard she said this and that....' and it makes her look like she was defending herself when Reba did nothing at all. I've never heard Reba publically say anything negative about anyone. I just can't imagine she started anything with them.

Again, JMO.... :D

As a concerned American citizen, I apologize to President Bush because my remark was disrespectful. I now realize that whoever holds that office should be treated with the utmost respect.

I hope everyone understands, I'm just a young girl who grew up in Texas. As far back as I can remember, I heard people say they were ashamed of President Clinton. I saw bumper stickers calling him everything from a pothead to a murderer. I heard people on the radio and tv like Rush Limbaugh, Pat Robertson, Newt Gingrich and Trent Lott bad mouthing the President and ridiculing his wife and daughter at every opportunity.

I heard LOTS of people disrespecting the President. So I guess I just assumed it was acceptable behavior.

But now, thanks to the thousands of angry people who want radio stations to boycott our music because criticizing the President is unpatriotic, I realize it's wrong to have a liberal opinion if you're a country music artist. I guess I should have thought about that before deciding to play music that attracts hypocritical red necks.

I also realize now that I'm supposed to just sing and look cute so our fans won't have anything to upset them while they're cheating on their wives or getting in drunken bar fights or driving around in their pickup trucks shooting highway signs and small animals.

OK I just read LKL last night!!! Now can someone please find what Reba said after Maines in Engalnd remark qwas made. I know the Toby thing but WTF???
MAGUIRE: Reba and Toby were two people that went out of their way to bash us, when we were under so much fire, so it hurt, because I was a huge Reba fan growing up, and I still am. It was personal for me, when I felt like she went out of the way to say negative things about us.

Oh bull $hit. I don't believe a word of that. I have never heard Reba say anything negative about anyone as long as I've been a fan of hers and that has been for a long time. She just isn't that way. Toby wouldn't have jumped on them if they hadn't attacked him first about his music. This is just a group of GIRLS that don't know when to pinch their lips and keep their thoughts to themselves.

After 3 years here they come just spoiling for a fight. Just shows how mature all 3 of them are. Only they don't come back swinging at the Pres...they come back swinging at country music singers and country fans. GROW UP!

Excellent post, Bobbi's Angel!!!! I used to stick up for the Chicks' right of free speech, but no more. Freedom of speech doesn't give you the right to try to pick a fight and insult innocent people such as Reba, just for publicity. And after THREE YEARS, no less ! I'll listen to my old chicks' cds, but not one dime will ever go to them again. Meanwhile, I continue to buy reba's cds and dvds, etc. She is and will always be my fave ! She's such a class act, and I loved the way she let the chicks know that she was aware of their comment and wasn't intimidated by them. That joke was priceless ! Did you see her eyes twinkle when she said it ?

I love Reba's eyes. She always has that twinkle in her eyes like a kid who is up to something :p I have always thought of Reba as a person who just loves life and enjoys every minute of it. She's been around way to long to ever be intimidated by a group of such immature GIRLS.

We just bought the new CD and it is great. I wonder if there will be protests once their tour starts in July? Anyone here planning to protest? If they come through here and I'm not working, I'll go. (Though not to protest.)

If they are smart they will converse with their audience this time around. My daughter had gone to their concerts before and the last tour they did after the England thing they didn't communicate with the audience at all. They just got up their and sang their songs and that was it. My daughter said she would never go to another one of their concerts because they were so unfriendly. Country music singers always relate with the audience...anyway any concert that I've ever been to. My daughter could have cared less what they said in England...it was their attitudes that really ticked her off.

Natalie Maines is one of those people born middle finger first.

That's no joke! I hope they have NO success at all with this new release. They are just so "in your face" with their ideas. It's like they dare you to disagree. Well not only do I disagree, but I'd never buy another piece of their music. Fools...it's fine to have your own opinion, but when you open your mouth and start your gums flapping, you better be ready for the consequences.

They don't know how to pinch their lips...and I hope this time will be the last time we hear from them. In the picture I saw, they look like they are looking for a fight. They are such IDIOTS.

Actually, there is a beautiful song on there, "Lullaby," that they wrote for their kids. It's not the least bit political and it's my new favorite song. I wouldn't consider buying a cd "throwing my money away" simply because three people ruffled some feathers by speaking their minds...

I bought that cd to show my support to the Chicks for having the courage to use their freedom of speech even though they knew it would probably kill their careers. TO me it shows they value the opportunity to stand up for what they believe in over the almighty dollar.

Should they have kept their mouths shut? Probably. But since they didn't, at least they're honest enough to let people know where they stand.

I'll bet her comment did hit a nerve. I don't care what people think...we are all entitled to our own opinions, but when you open your mouth and say things, you just have to be ready to deal with the consequenses. And these girls look like they have the battery on their shoulder...just daring us to knock it off.

I think it's just another case of someone with money deciding they need to try and "enlighten" the rest of us ignorant folks. Natalie probably wouldn't be mouthing off if she was checking groceries at Walmart. I don't know what it is about the "stars" that think they just have to get out there and do things like this.

But I'll bet doughnuts to dollars one or all of them are going to open their mouth(s) again and say something that's going to land them back in hot water. They have more money than brains. :(

The only reason I am going to listen to any of the news coverage is to see how long it takes for them to be back in doo-doo land. I give them six months.

True...Okay, I'm going with a month. They (especially Natalie) won't be able to keep their traps shut.

Oh, please. Lots of us regular folks agree with Natalie Mains and say the same things, on and off the job. And frankly, people said far worse - and with less cause - about Bill Clinton.
