This is where my thinking is. Deep down did they know the truth from the beginning, I think so. But I notice the no visits and they are being rather silent on the 'she's still alive, or Casey didn't do it' stories. It could be because of the document dump or it's because the lawyer told them, 'Look, this is the deal, you need to pull your heads out of your you-know-whats and face what's going on, or else.'

Personally, George's interview about 'not wanting to believe someone you brought into this world could do something like this', something to that effect, told me he knows what the truth is. He might not have wanted to face it at that time, but he knows.

It's funny that just yesterday their attorney BC said they believe *zanny* hurt the baby. I realize in terms of this case 24 hours is a huge amount of time but still -- I'll take a wait and see on that.

And btw, if I never hear the word Zanny again in this lifetime that's fine with me.

IMo, the A's need to appolize for their lies and actions to LE............for hindering the efforts.........in finding Caylee

ITA! That would be a huge first step. They were out there screaming for an apology from OSCO way back when, weren't they? So they believe in the concept of saying you're sorry, anyway.

Yes, it's sick. But it is what the LE uses to get evidence to convict someone. They don't give it, if they don't need it.

It doesn't sound like they need the A's in this situation. They have tons of evidence.

I also think they have everything they need without the A's which is one reason I don't think the A's will be charged. Nothing the A's have done has successfully interfered with the investigation. What would be the purpose of charging them? To prevent them lying the next time one of their children commit murder?

I think giving them immunity would let them get around the slayer statutes - laws that prevent you from profiting from your "wrong." If they were convicted of obstruction, they could never write a book, etc. Immunity would ensure they could do what they wanted... arg.

Lawlady- excellent point. I had not considered this.

Thank you for nudging my brain.

Isn't it a little late for the Anthonys to start telling the truth to LE? They have fought tooth and nail against every effort to find this child. And does LE really need their help now? They are solving this crime, and without even truth from the grandparents. Now that the body has been found and the puzzle is coming together they want to cooperate?

IMO a little too little, too late.

How about you Cindy testify to the knock down drag out fight on the 15th? and not seeing Caylee on the 16th? What about the nasty phone call exchange with you are KC on the 15th? Did she make a statement to the effect that you won't see your granddaughter again?

George, how about you testify about those gas cans and how your daughter physically prevented you from coming near the trunk? Did you get a peek inside? What did you see? And the smell? You know what a dead body smells like?

That's all they need, oh, and of course, you never met the nanny, much less heard her name ever mentioned prior to July 15.

Just tell the truth, it's much easier to remember.

They can't do it.

IMO they should not be granted immunity. Anyone who is missing (or in this case presumed a homicide) a relative should not lie no matter what. The missing person should come FIRST. And PS IMO if they did do anything to intefere with the evidence (Im talking hiding things, not giving things to LE KNOWINGLY on purpose) then they should be arrested too.

Charge them All! They are lucky they aren't already sitting beside their daughter in a cell. Obstruction and lying is what it is, and they knew the moment they did it, it was wrong. Why even have perjury and obstruction laws, if they are not prosecuted? That will just tell every guilty person, you can say you lied becuase you are "grieving". BS. They are not above the law, because of their newfound "celebrity status".

I'm curious about that. If they were convicted of obstruction, why would that prevent them from writing a book about the murder? Wouldn't it only keep them from writing about their crime, not Casey's?

I know I'm probably a minority around here, but I really don't think Cindy and George are guilty of obstruction. I think that Cindy whole-heartedly believed Casey's lies about the Nanny, because otherwise she'd have to believe Caylee was dead. I think her supposed "cover up" was her way of taking the heat off of Casey and putting the focus back on the Nanny, and finding an alive Caylee. I don't think it was meant to protect KC at all. I think she felt Caylee was alive and that this was how she could protect Caylee...

Now that there is no chance of Caylee being alive, she doesn't have to hide suspicious "coincidence" and can be more honest about KC's whereabouts and all that. She isn't a monster. She's a human being and I think she's doing the best she can under the circumstances.

THis is obviously just my opinion. Don't bite.

I'm sure no one would be surprised if I say I agree.

Depends. What have they done that is "prosecution worthy?"

Whatever it is, they are seeking immunity per their own lawyer's words, and at this juncture, the circular reasoning is complete.

If we don't know what it is that they've allegedly done wrong, how can we be screaming for their heads on a platter?

I think it's a good thing that they are willing to tell the entire truth now, isn't that what everyone has wanted all along? Their lawyer would not be doing his job if he didn't ask for immunity considering the conflicting statements they've given.

Oh no no no.
It's really not about "excusing" Cindy or George or ... whoever, because of the "choices" they made to lie, deny, confuse, and misdirect efforts and attention to the simple cause of justice for Caylee.

They have to sign a book/movie deal. They have a pricey defense team. They don't have a red cent to their name. Unfortunately there is no loving next of kin family member that has the grounds to file a wrongful death civil suit against them. That would take care of any profits from this trajedy.

Maybe the "dead" father will come out of hiding now and help us all out...

The father would be the only heir with standing to file such a suit. The A's know who he is, and he wasn't killed in a car accident.

I don't think a conviction for obstruction would prevent them from writing about Caylee and Casey. Their crime would not be Casey's crime, theirs would be obstruction and I highly doubt that is what their book would be about.

Why on earth would anyone file a wrongful death suit against George and Cindy?

Hi sweetwater! What a day... :)
