Blown up and cropped?
They've obviously put it in Paint or Photoshop and covered the elbow, and maybe part of the sister. I did this one in Paint by copying jaggedy pieces of other rocks and pasting them on top of eachother to make it look natural. Then with the beach part, I just put a box around it and dragged it to the left.Did you see these photos?

*note this close-up of the original and the altar pic above. In the original (large view here: http://tinyurl.com/2lfu2n ) you can clearly see GM's elbow very close to Maddie's head.
So, where is the elbow in the altar pic. :waitasec:

No Daffodil, not cropped. If it had been cropped close enough to remove the elbow it would have looked like this (I cropped the original, big version):

Notice how much closer the left edge of the picture is to her hat? I cropped it as close to the elbow as I could get. Others can try and see if they get a different result.
But, a more important question....WHY?
Why would someone (and WHO) try to remove the elbow from a picture used on the altar of the church. For what reason?

One thing I learned is that someone has added a dark line on the rocks that would be behind Gerry's elbow. I had to do another cut and paste job to get that to look natural. So someone took some time to artistically do that right.
Maybe they just wanted the elbow out of there, but again it makes me wonder at the minute details the McCanns think about in this situation. There were other pictures of Madeleine that are just as cute as that one that could have been used, or they could have cropped it as Colomom did.
Another strange thing!
Yes - exactly.I agree that someone spent a lot of time making the photo look natural without the elbow. Maybe someone did it as a kindness--"Here, I'll make sure the photo of Madeleine for the altar looks nice." But the thought would just never to occur to me--crop the photo maybe but enhancing it? To use one of the banned phrases--"It is what it is" and that is, a photo of a little girl having a great time with her family on vacation. Isn't that enough?
I think I get what you are saying, Thoughtfox.
But..... could Gerry have risked DP showing up while Kate was still cleaning up? How would Kate have explained that?
What do you think about the "accident" actually happening on May 2nd? I wonder if any of the Tapa7 can recall actually seeing Maddie on May 3rd? I know there is the staff at the creche, but because they saw Maddie everyday maybe they just thought she was there, when she really wasn't it?

Very interesting! I did not realize there were already 24 pages of speculation about the May 2nd theory. Some of the stuff said by Coldwater makes sense, however, I would really like to know who his sources are!
Things I found interesting included the comments about Kate cleaning the apartment at 4:00 a.m. after Maddie went missing, turning away the cleaning lady and the CCTV at the doors of the creche and the Kid's club. Also, that Gerry was not playing tennis but was actually at a sportsarena.
I don't remember seeing any of this stuff before.......

It's probably better not to worry about it - we'll never know.Anyone think the picture was cropped so Maddie was the only one in the picture since that picture was placed on the alter?
Or is there a reason Gerry's elbow and Maddie's sister's arm should be cut out? I'm confused.
One thought about the May 2nd scenario: The McCanns have never, to the best of my knowledge, acknowledged what Madeleine did that day or any specifics about the family's activities/timeline. In fact, answering specific questions about the timeline was one of the areas Kate refused to answer.
The only specific comment I remember about that day was Kate saying that Maddie said "Mummy, I've had the best day ever" as she was put to bed.
Colomom, am I just getting tired and sloppy-minded, or is that right?
