April 15th wknd of Sleuthing

It just blew past us in North Raleigh and it wasn't much of anything! We pretty much stayed home all day over this and it didn't end up being anything more than a little bit of rain. Well, better safe than sorry I suppose.

Starting to thunder big time out here near Archers Lodge/Applewhite Rd. area. Windy, dark, and thunder rolling in. Somebody here posts from Zebulon too, I remember that. And IIRC NCSU is in the Holly Springs area where this began.

I am out near RTP, 3 minutes from Cisco actually. We didn't get much more than heavy rain thankfully. I am worried about friends who were at the NC State Game and driving back to Clayton this afternoon in an RV. Hope they got home safely.

I finally got WRAL back on tv. They are saying that debris is flying through the air at I95 near Smithfield,,,,in Johnston County. I know this isn't exactly where you are GL and hope it keeps it's distance. So far we are still fine. It's getting darker and every now and then loud thunder scares me. But it's not even raining here....the winds have been pretty rough all afternoon, even before the major stuff began.

I hope the worst is past you now FD. I have cleared my closet under the stairs and have 4 yo grandson, 3 dogs, husband and myself ready to cram ourselves in there if need be.

Other son's truck sustained over $9,000 in damage last weekend from hail....baseball sized. They are in Gastonia. Stay safe GL!

Storm has recently finished in Apex area, we have just cleared our yard of many roof shingles and insulation. It is not from my house or any neighbors and I am hopeful that everyone near my area or storm area remains safe.

OMG, WRAL is showing the Lowes store in Sanford and it's nothing but a pile of nothing. Awful. I pray the customers and employees who were in there are ok. Seeing the picture--it's hard to believe that anybody could have survived.
