You are right about the events of that morning. No black and white testimony and a lot of 'ifs'. The phone may or may not have made a difference but I would like to know what was on it regardless of whether the info held any importance or not.
When it's all said and done, I still don't see anybody but Brad killing her after she returned from the party on the night of the 11th/12th. It's a difficult case to sort out with too many coincidences and not enough hard evidence.

We may not have enough information to really understand alternative theories. It certainly wouldn't be the first time a lack of information led to the wrong conclusions. For example, Chandra Levy disappeared while jogging. She was having an affair with Condit. He was seen disposing of a gift in a garbage dump. Many people were convinced of his guilty until years later when new information surfaced.

Yep, that has been my thought all along. Absolutely no freedom with little kids and a single parent. No ability to do anything without a babysitter lined up. This furthers my thought if he did it, it had to be spur of the moment rage.

I love my kids and don't mind taking care of them (I'm their dad...it's my responsibility). But I also can't do the normal things I do when my wife is here. For example, I can't go (and haven't gone) running this weekend. And that is something I do nearly every day.

Google "raleigh jogger attacked" (without quotes) and you will see quite a few reports about area joggers being attacked over the years. Such attacks certainly are not common, but they do happen. So it's not much of a reach to think that she could have been attacked while jogging.

It's odd that another sports bra was found in that same general area too.

Did Condit zoom in on that jogging path using Google maps the day before she went missing?

It's not the "same" in amount - but $75,000 would help pay some of the debt BC had hanging over his head - or gotten him to France for a new life.

Brad was making $112,000 annually, and that was only going to increase annually. He would have to be completely stupid to murder his wife for $75,000.

Genius, yet completely stupid at the same time.
The $75K would have given him a clean slate to move on w/ no debt...not to mention no alimony.

I am very guilty of giggling and talking way too much when I am nervous or afraid. To the extent of driving others crazy. That's just how my psyche handles major negatives and as old as I am I am worse now than I was when younger.

I'm sure you don't mean to imply that if you were sitting in the courtroom during a murder trial for a sibling, you would be giggling and chatting during testimony. Seriously, if you weren't there to hear the testimony, why would you bother attending?

There are no murders showing for 2006, first page with stats that came back, several other sites are showing 0 for murder as well for various years. Cary is shown as the 5th most safe city in the US on another page....date not given.
This 'safe' reputation is why the CPD was so quick to jump on the spouse, which is understandable.

Of course, they are located on the edge of Cary right near the border of what is considered Raleigh. The body was found in Raleigh.

I hope you understand that after estate taxes, debts fulfulled, etc, he probably wasn't going to get 75,000 back.

Was he the sole beneficiary or were the children also partial beneficiaries?

I remember the questions surrounding Condit's involvement in her murder. I never personally thought he physically killed her but I did entertain the idea that he hired someone else to do it. I, like many others, was wrong.
This Cooper case is filled with inconsistencies and coincidences. That's what makes it so difficult.

Lets just say he is probably smarter than anyone on this forum...JMO

Speak for yourself. I certainly won't admit that. Maybe he was in voip technology, but knowing voip to a ccie level certainly doesn't make him smarter than everyone in this forum.

My only issue is they do it all the time. We've already had a report from someone in the courtroom that they have gotten looks from the jury (not positive ones) because of it.

I don't believe Brad Cooper had any right to give away assets until the estate was settled that included giving away ducks to an attorney. this article was written in November 2008. In Mrs Coopers testimony she sounded a little miffed..she was busy packing away the house and then I think she said I don't have to pack up this house...just her tone sounded like they were not going to just take what Brad wanted

http://www.wral.com/news/local/story/3952460/

Sure. She was helping Brad pack and prepare to move. After Brad's arrest, I'm sure she had the realization that it wasn't her responsibility. It's not like anyone was helping her. We certainly haven't heard that any of Nancy's relatives showed up to help, or stake claim to any of the contents.

I really see no point in trying to find fault with Brad's mother for deciding not to pack up the house by herself.

Speaking of house contents and clothing......
Wonder what happened to the these shoes?
(CPD specifically searched the house right after the arrest)
Like the router, they are nowhere to be found :waitasec:

Or would that be, like the ducks, they are nowhere to be found. I'm willing to be CPD never looked for those shoes and never asked BC for those shoes.

Last I heard, life insurance proceeds are not taxed.
What estate taxes would be owed on Nancy's minimal estate?
Yes, the $75K would go to pay off debt so he could move on with a new life.

They must have searched for the ducks too. No where to be found. That doesn't mean these items were not there, it means police didn't look.

I don't think we saw the giggling when the state was presenting their case so it could be their way of saying "we know he did it, so we don't even have to listen to the defense evidence". It's very child-like and just plain tacky to behave that way.
