a moot point: a side issue, problem or question which does not have to be decided to resolve the main issues in a dispute.

4. The Def disputes Plaintiff entitlement to divorce on grounds of indignities as none are proven, aside from moot circumstances , the Plaintiff may be pregnant.

I may be wrong and don't know how to word what I am trying to say. But I THINK he is speaking of Plaintiff may be pregnant.
I think he is being too clever by half and is saying that her possible pregnancy is an indignity, but it is moot.

So basically he wants to get rid of his court appointed attorney (and he probably wants off this case asap too with an "Im not crazy" client.) And he is seeking attention hoping a high profile attorney will take his case. Maybe he wants JB since he can get people off murder. He is saying that LE forced him into a confession by threatening him. Did they also force him into doing the prison interview where he changed his story and still places himself at the vacant house?

Have we seen any other cases where a defendant managed to screw up their own defense like this?
Is it even possible for another attorney to come in and be able to clean up AL damage to his case? The only way I can think of off the top of my head is "He loves his wife and was protecting her."

Maybe he is hoping for an appeal of any conviction, on the grounds that he had incompetent defense!

I fully suspect by the time this goes to trial AL will turn this whole thing on CL.

He'll probably be found insane and she (presumably) won't have the same excuse.

He definitely is up to something. Trying to figure out where he is headed with this. My personal opinion is they both played a role but in the end he will stick everything on to her he can. His tactics lately make me think he is going for an "I was covering for her." role. Crazy defense is getting easier to believe tho. This dude has some serious screws loose.
Im not sure if he is that obsessed with CL, its a defense tactic or the guy really is just a total nutcase.

Wondering if a mental defense would work for him. He proudly wears his crimes and announces them to the whole world where most people would be ashamed and hope no one found out. Could they use this as a defense he doesnt know right from wrong?

Could be all 3. I betcha he'll try to use the prison employees allowing that reporter to interview him somehow, too. He was too crazy to be allowed to do that & it's their fault for allowing him to poison the jury pool, yada-yada.

And how might that impact the case vs CL if he is deemed insane? I can see it working either way, to her benefit or to her detriment.

No wonder his attorney and the court wanted him to have a psychological evaluation.

I really don't think he fits the legal standard of insane.

I dont see it working to her benefit. She presumably knows right from wrong. She will be held accountable for her decisions she made. I dont see how it works against her either unless he turns on her and he was going along with her, hes crazy and she took advantage of this. Either way, there isnt any reason to believe right now she is insane . On the fence about him. Definitely think he is but is it enough to get him an insanity defense?

I downloaded AL's documents suing the Pulaski County Sheriff's Office from PACER, including his claim for indigence (redacted his son's name), the initial complaint, and the amended complaint. Have fun reading! Also, his handwriting still freaks me out.

Thanks so much, Cheezy! WOW, that's a lot of writing and reading. I had to print them out. My eyes need a break from the computer screen. I will say before I go read...
He received $50.00 10/14 from his wife???? Funds are running low with all the writing paper and stamps he's using! :)

Thank you so much for getting these and sharing them.

I guess if you throw enough half-cooked macaroni against a wall, there's an off-chance something might miraculously stick. He's bored. And broke. He's entertaining himself and fishing for commissary money from gullible fools, IMO.

That's the greatest thing I have read in a while!! You can actually follow his train of thought as he tries to manipulate the system. "I hurt myself while running from the police....but the police denied me medical care so poor me I was mistreated." "One detective told me (in the bathroom with no witnesses) that if I don't answer questions I will be shot therefore my confession is void."

I find it interesting **if the police did drive him through 3 counties did he say he would take them to BC then didn't?? I doubt LE would take him for a joy ride unless he said he would take them to BC.

Arron Lewis is going to be quite entertaining through this process!!

I just spent some time browsing through comments on the FH facebook page timeline posts that relate to this case. A person, with initials D.A. who allegedly knows AL personally, calls him bipolar among other things. This D.A. comment is from Sept. 30, at 3:15 PM and made on the timeline photo, also posted on 9/30, of AL's POF screenshot.

Mostly lurking here, but had to say that to me it appears he's just trying to manipulate CL - get her back under his influence. For his own gain, not because he so desperately "loves" her. IMHO they are both culpable.

"If" AL is bipolar and can somehow prove he was in a manic state when he kidnapped/murdered BC, this case from Arkansas indicates that bipolar disorder CAN be used in an insanity defense. This other man (different case) was ultimately convicted of second degree murder. In an earlier case that did not involve loss of life, the same man was acquitted by reason of mental defect or disease. http://archive.thv11.com/news/story.aspx?storyid=203378 http://archive.thv11.com/news/story.aspx?storyid=203378
