Mom is wrong or misspoke because Casssie could not have been home at 6:00 according her texts:

Sunday, Sept. 14, 6:02 p.m. — Are you home
Sunday, Sept. 14, 6:03 p.m. — Be home in a bit
Sept. 14, 6:03 p.m. “Be home in a bit.”
This is the last text from Cassie to her mother.

Maybe this is why TS said HS had her there at 6:05? Great catch Dee, didn't think to grab those times! Question is how long after this text did she get home?

I've wondered why Cassie was asking if JC was home. Was she out earlier in the day? If so, where? Was Cassie sitting in HS's vehicle in the driveway or on the street when she sent these txts, perhaps confused by the presence of a vehicle (or lack of a vehicle) wondering if, say, BR was there alone?

IMO, maybe she was asking if JC was home because she didn't have keys? Sent her a text before HS left the house so it wouldn't be a waste of a trip, maybe? I thought HS left his house to drive Cassie home at 6:05? So they wouldn't be sitting in the driveway.

Good point-I was thinking she was getting home at 605, jumping the gun a bit-my apologies.
Did we ever hear about that rumor that JC, BR & his friends were outside when Cassie came home? I know it was said that BR & JC were in many versions of the arriving home story. But what about the friends?

Good point. But the 6:05 is just as recounted by TS, correct? The txts are corroborated by LE, correct? Or are they per JC? Do we know who had keys to Cassie's residence?
Also, how many entrances and exits are there to the residence?

Those texts were from a "Letter to the editor" link posted here I believe.

My thought on Cassie asking JC if she was home is b/c she didn't want to go home if BR was home alone.

I bet that text is how they nailed down that HS left at 6:05. I would guess they left his house right after she confirmed her mom was home.

That is a really good theory and falls in place really well with what we know.

Great catch on HS! Ya know I never thought to ask what his age is & how he met Cassie-do we know this already & I just overlooked that?

HS is 16 (we are not supposed to sleuth minors especially since he was cleared by LE), a junior at SHS. Birth year 1997.

HS is 16 (we are not supposed to sleuth minors especially since he was cleared by LE), a junior at SHS. Birth year 1997. Chosen from large group to attend national Future Farmers of America convention (demonstrates responsible behavior). Likes engine mechanics and outdoors activities, not so much a gamer. Wants to join Marines.

Well he is just a kid, for some reason I thought he was 22. Definitely think our focus should be on JC & BR, since they are the suspects.

Thanks for the info, no sleuthing just a question. We actually aren't supposed to sleuth anyone that isn't a suspect or POI if I recall correctly. My reason for the question was because it seems Cassie tends to be friends with older kids. It made me wonder if this was another older person, especially since he's friends w BR on FB. It's reassuring knowing that is the case, I think it also plays into the fact that HS & TS were unaware of any issues in the home. My thought is that if there were issues between BR & Cassie, and HS were aware he wouldn't be associated with him on FB. JMO.

No sleuthing of minors, and we need to protect their privacy also, so no identifying characteristics either, I think.
Since LE has cleared him, we can hope they have cleared his vehicle also. I'm always interested in vehicles missing persons have last been known to have traveled in, mostly for the scent factor for K9's. Unfortunately if he's the kind of teenage boy I know, he probably washes his vehicle more than his hands. ;) But too much time has passed for that to be of use anyway.

Moving on, though- I had asked much earlier if Cassie was a part of any extracurricular activities. This was before we knew she was not attending school. (Btw, do we have documentation on that? A parent or guardian needs to sign off on that, if under the age of 16, right?)
Would that have precluded her from participating in activites like FFA in this particular community?

I know we're not supposed to sleuth minors or non suspects/poi etc. But question for Oriah-where do we see that he was ruled out? I only see LE saying that JC & BR are "still suspects" but in the same coverage it was stated that no one had been ruled out. Did I miss something?

To be honest, I'm not sure. I feel like I read an earlier MSM account with LE saying TS and HS had been cleared. I'll try to find it now. If he hasn't then we still can't sleuth, but I think we have a little more freedom to discuss. I'll ask a mod.

I was just thinking about this. Earlier we were talking about not letting our kids have friends of the opposite sex sleep over. I remembered a situation just down the street from me. We have a neighbor who has 3 kids- 2 away in college & one (boy)that is a Jr in HS. Recently a younger girl moved in with the Mom and the son. She stays in the older sisters room from what I have been told. BUT my point in this is that she moved in after being assaulted by her mother. Now I know that TS said on JVM that they weren't aware of any "issues" in the home until well after. But something made her want to let Cassie stay over after not knowing her that long. Part of me wonders if she was directed on what to say and not to say in her interview. Part of me wonders if she also just had a "mothers intuition" about it. I know that before the young girl moved into my neighbors home she was there all the time, the son is basically her best friend that she confided in.

It was in the TS interview on JVM.

I am still new as far as posting to Websleuths, so I still don't know too much. If we are actively searching for Cassie, what would it take to have that posted next to her name? I see it next to some other missing people's names, so I'm a bit curious.. What makes their names have it, but not other missing persons? Do you understand what I mean?
