Behind and catching up again.

1. Maybe there had to be a written report and
2. When called into PD that she was missing the conversation would have gotten to
3. Did she runaway before? The answer would have been yes. so the assumption might have been
4. She ran away again lets give it some time.
5. Was JC's car functional that night? If they had to do a written report would JC stay home in case Cassie came home?

Just some thoughts. You may have already thought of these.

We have been told that BR did not call-that he rode his bike to PD to tell them she was missing. Now, my confusion comes from the fact that they had phone access at the house-JC could text Cassie at least she claimed that she could.
So,
1.) Why didnt Judy and or BR call PD to report their concerns? Clearly these concerns were big enough to want to involve PD two hours after her last contact with JC. Unless some of the media is accurate in stating that JC waited until the following morning to try and contact Cassie.
2.) Why didnt Judy and BR drive to PD to report their concerns? BR apparently couldnt or didnt legally drive, but JC could.
3.) Did Cassie's phone run out of minutes and when?

But I have questions that still havent been cleared up at all unless I missed it:
When was Cassie actually reported missing and by who? That night, the following morning, by BR/JC, TS???
Did JC see her or hear her when she returned home from being at the Snyder's?
Did BR see or hear Cassie after she returned home-we have been told BR and friends were on the porch, that JC and BR were out of the room and there was (apparently) no face to face, that there was face to face...which is it?
Was there a 72 hour waiting period mentioned, and who came up with the runaway status and why?
When did her status change to missing?

That is just a few of the questions I have...still waiting for more information on clothing, shoes, phone, sizes, photos, location of the outfit she was wearing when HS dropped her off and what THAT outfit was.....:banghead:

Locals, feel free to weigh in here.

HS is 16 (we are not supposed to sleuth minors especially since he was cleared by LE), a junior at SHS. Birth year 1997.

16 means he is a new driver. I would be wanting communications from him every step of the way. When he got there, when he left, etc until he got home. This was always my pattern with my children and still is and they are both mid 20s. That would be one reason she would know where he was an when.

You know this is a unique opportunity for a reporter to work a story that is going to tie into the largest tourism bump Stuttgart gets every year, right? I mean the story has an edge to it. We have all of the stories, the conflicting detail, the prayer box and church influence, the smokes, the May December "romance", the searches, the facebook pages. It is all current and it is all right there for someone to put together and create a splash with. Imagine being on scene when the hunting activities start and the possibility that evidence will be recovered.

Most importantly it is an opportunity to bring some attention and answers to a little girl who seems like she was so lost in so many ways.

This is kind of from Jaws but a small town that relies on the revenue from Duck and Deer season may not want the kind of publicity that a missing child brings especially if it might be a predator situation. Hope not though.

Hi Everyone,

I've been a lurker on websleuths for a couple of years and followed many cases, but this is my first post. Something about Cassie has captured my heart, maybe the fact I have a 14 year old daughter and can't comprehend the lack of attention from Cassie's disapperance! I'm sure I won't be of much help other than trying to brainstorm with you all but by posting I feel like it shows she matters and people care about her and rallying for her! I'm not quite caught up on this thread so forgive me if this has already been talked about but there are two things (amongst many others) that don't seem to add up to me,

In JC's first interview she reacalled saying Hi baby girl upon hearing Cassie come in but didn't see her, she said she was sick in bed and thought Cassie would come in and see her but didn't..and yet she remembers what clothes she was wearing when she left?

Secondly, Cassie supposedly went out to get cigarettes, yet left her purse at home, where was her money? It just seems odd that she didn't get HS to stop enroute to hers to get cigarettes instead of going back out?

I don't know so many things don't make sense, especially the discrepancies in JC and BR accounts that evening. I always try and give the benefit of the doubt but something about that interview with JC made me feel veeery uncomfortable!

I think we can disregard the scenario of BR being on the porch with 2 friends when Cassie returned home. I have not seen that reported or mentioned anywhere besides on a news forum by one person. HS had said that BR was on the front porch when Cassie walked up to the house and that they saw each other, there was never a mention in any MSM or mentionings around Stuttgart that there were 2 friends there. I think JC would have mentioned that to me when I asked, even as a method of deflection.

I also don't see much possibility of using the dumpster at the car wash. The car wash is well lit at night and the laundromat and car wash is 24 hours, and used quite frequently, even throughout the night. There are also working cameras on the exterior of the building and I'm pretty sure BR and JC would be aware of this living so close to it.

The curbside trashed is picked up on Monday and Thursday mornings that their house. I had previously mentioned a small fire at their house. I am unsure of the date. I spoke to my grandfather (who was a block away) about it again and he reiterated what happened. There were a few LE vehicles at the house for close to an hour, about 30 minutes or so after LE left he noticed smoke, the fire department came up seconds later, put out a fire and left. I am not sure where the fire was located. (IMO, this could have been when they became suspects or when LE started asking questions about happenings within the home. To me, a fire is very suspicious.) I have no idea if LE followed back up at the home after the fire. My grandfather left and doesn't know what happened after that.

I will try and get some photos of places that were searched on October 18 but it will be sometime this weekend before I can.

I'm not too sure about those either. The ones close to the community of Casscoe seem relevant but the ones more north seem a little out of the way of areas that are suspect. I haven't heard about anything north of Casscoe myself, just within the area and then west to White River. I do believe that area has been searched pretty well. Unfortunately, there are numerous places to access White River, but if a car was used then it would narrow those down a bit.

When I went to file my kid missing..The officer came to me. I didnt have to go anywhere.

I just felt like different PDs do things differently but the more I think of it what did BR think needed to happen? If he thought he needed to go he might have not thought about a car and just did what he usually did. However, do we know if JCs car was functional? Did anyone see her drive it around that time?

I did a screen grab from the search on October 4th showing a map with perhaps grid patters? Maybe Oriah and sre can help with this.

I am quite certain this is a map of the Daugherty Road area search (west of Casscoe). I went to Google Earth to verify the islands of trees. Looking at the red rectangle box, the bottom edge of the red box is Hwy. 153. The main N-S road near the right on the interior of red box is Daugherty Road. There is a very old telecommunications tower on the southern end of another road parallel W running N-S, called Tower Road. I am looking to see if I can find a newer cell tower. YES, THIS AREA WAS SEARCHED BY LE ON THE AFTERNOON OF OCTOBER 4.

In this article we get the time line from JC on what happened. JC was in her bedroom and did not see Cassie come in she just heard her that night.

Then the next morning actions:

The next morning when she found that she wasn’t in her bedroom she started texting Cassie. After no quick response, she sent anothe text. Then she started calling. Her mother said Cassie always answered her phone — text or call. Even if she was hanging with friends, like some teenagers do and ignore that phone call from mom, she never did.

“I called friends to see if she was there and she wasn’t,” she explains. It was then that worry began to set in and law enforcement was called.

She also 'explained' she 'believed' what clothing Cassie was wearing.

We don't know what PD said to them but they could have said (since she was a previous run a way) come down and file a report. Since she has run away before lets give it 3 days since she was gone about 3 days before. (Which I would not agree to)

I am trying to find a clear consistent chain of events, kwim? Seriously we have some activities here that make no bloody sense-like...BR pedaling madly to PD. I wish some enthusiastic journalist would take the time to request the records, compare the statements and then ask some clarifying questions. All before the big tourist activities begin.

Maybe someone could contact Leigh Hahn-Kreimeier, the Daily Leader reporter, and discuss it with her? She might use the suggestions. Journalists are not what they used to be for sure.

:wagon: out of lurk mode stargazer. Good to have you join us. That is a really good point about why not have HS stop enroute to let her run in a pick up some smokes. Why get dropped at home via a car and then turn right around and leave on foot for cigs?

This is just so baffling!! I thought it was verified BR reported her missing the night before at the PD?!

I think if we pulled up every article written or every face-to-face interview we would find many discrepancies.

Referencing a TS FB post on the first Monday night, Cassie's phone became inoperable or changed the way it was responding to calls a few hours after last text:

"Her phone has been off (or died) since around 10:30 p.m."
(September 15 at 9:34 p.m.)

Could it have been tossed in water after foul play? Maybe just the phone, not Cassie, was taken out to Casscoe much later.

Did no one go to get a police report?....It would end so much confusion on the time line etc.. I wish I was there!
Does anyone have a copy of the new flyer, with updated info. If so can you post it.
