A search group led by WP
Door to door group that will be led by DW
Flier Group that will be led by BS
Computer group that will be led by CJ and AM
Fundraiser group that will be led by JF, BB, BS
An Information group that will talk to local and surrounding area stations will be led by DB
A media group that will be led by JC

I appreciate our locals keeping us up to date with where they see the flyers-I was really hoping to read of a door to door effort that included a request to have folks check their brush, woods and external buildings.

JC is assigned the responsibility of reaching out to the media-so hopefully we see more of that in the coming days as we approach the events in Stuttgart.

Can anyone fill me in on what this is?? TIA.

One of the things SPD mentioned to me when I spoke with them was that this case had virtually no visibility beyond the border of Stuttgart. The words were "Not one iota." That needs to change for sure, and I think it could. ASP and FBI are involved here-lets get the ball rolling for some more media and press releases if we can!!

I think there has been a very, very mixed response from LE in Cassie's case. Some folks, at certain times, have had good response from local LE. Some have hit a brick wall. Some have encountered what seems to be total apathy-they have already written Cassie off. Others have expressed deep concern. My contacts in Little Rock (not local LE) have not been apathetic at all, and have instead given me the impression that dealing with local issues has been problematic right from the start.
I don't know if this has become a power struggle, a big misunderstanding, or just the ill effects of a destructive rumor mill- but what I do know is it does not help Cassie to be found. And it makes acquiring resources for search efforts extremely difficult.

This poor child.

Maybe someone needs to help all three jurisdictions play nice together ;) It happens. It is hard to have people slogging through your patch I guess. But the positive is that ASP and the FBI have access to way more resources than SPD does.

Still wondering if any light can be shed regarding why ASP and FBI came on board so quick???

I can speculate, based on past experience I suppose. I believe it was borndem who expressed some thoughts on that situation upthread (some very good thoughts, imo.)
There are a myriad of reasons why federal LE might become involved so quickly, but I personally think that in Cassie's case, it was due to concurrent LE issues in the regional area...and then upon taking a look at the case, decided this might be much more complex than initially thought. So my thought is that federal LE is letting local run the course, while they continue research into both regional issues, and Cassie's disappearance.
In other words, I wouldn't be surprised to have them show back up at a later date.
But that's just mvhoo.

Honestly-this is where KKs comes in. They have the opportunity to be a liaison between all LE branches & the family helping to pull everyone together for the best interest of the missing person. They may be trying to do that & we just may not be seeking that. Sometimes LE can be resistant. The MPO is also who would help family with media. Setting up events & writing press releases to allow media to schedule someone to attend. If they're not doing this either they've been directed not to, or something in the case signifies to lay low. I don't know about anyone else but it doesn't seem like Cassie is the runaway watching & seeking attention. I suppose she could have been lured off & be in danger of mass press causing a predator to panic & harm her but honestly if that was the case I think there would have been a ton of other signs earlier. Although the later of the 2 would explain FBI & ASP presence early in the game.
IMO though if that was the case LE would be far more open to information of they thought she was out there somewhere, and they would have closely monitored JCs interviews w/FBI giving her scripts on what to say. ALL MOO, totally JMO...

Got4, superb thought on full size posters on easels during WoTP week.
Superb.
Do we have a contact person here who is in touch with the FB folks, who can help facilitate that?

I agree, caring. But doesn't it seem like KK has been rather invisible in Cassie's case without any apparent reason? I'm generally the first to say, yep, SAR might be laying low because they've been requested to by LE.
But something about Cassie's case seems different to me.

It seems to me as if no one except federal LE, cares? KK would have been working with family and local LE, yes?

Maybe if we go back to possible routes of travel around her home and if we help to raise the visibility of her case in the next two weeks, it will help bring everyone back to focusing on Cassie. If they have lost focus that is.

Thank you, believe. I agree wholeheartedly.
Let's get organized here! It is two months too long for this child to be missing.

I absolutely agree...I don't recall another case this peculiar. I don't work with KK but another MPO & when I do case work you never really see or know I'm there, you hear my organizations name as being involved but not me personally. I'm behind the scenes & putting the families out on the forefront making a connection w the community for their loved one. It's been a while since we've heard anything from LE or JC. I'd think they'd want awareness events all over even it if was just fliers door to door. There is so much that could be done & I don't understand why they wouldn't want to do something...Everything doesn't have to be a sit down with media, give them something else to talk about in regards to Cassie-hold an awareness event at the bowling alley, have a donation drive for cold weather items for those in need at local shelters, donate time at a soup kitchen, being close to the holidays there are so many things that can be done in Cassie's name, while wearing MISSING shirts with her face on them & getting media coverage. Again JMO

Let's get organized here! It is two months too long for this child to be missing.

On a cold Monday morning, after spending a lot of my Sunday reading through Cassie's thread and learning more about her situation, people like you and everybody else on this thread make me smile (as much as you can when a young girl, who deserved more from life, is missing)

Cassie deserves more than what seems to be happening to find her, and I'd love to help in any way I can. She's too young to be so invisible to everybody already.

I don't participate often, as I've found my brain doesn't quite fit pieces together as well as many of yours can, so thanks! You guys are awesome!

I agree ENTIRELY, caring.
And if folks in Stuttgart are in need of assistance/direction/resources to make these sorts of efforts happen, and have encountered roadblocks or a lack of direction and focus from LE and/or other assistance groups- I hope they turn here for help.

Just one other thought on the peculiarity of Cassie's case. The idea that Cassie is possibly deceased, and possibly located locally, seems to be upsetting to family and friends (very normal, imo) but almost taken for granted by community. We have no crime scene, no evidence, no signs of struggle, no known motive, no known enemies, nothing.
Just speculation.
Logic would dictate that if Cassie were hypothetically murdered locally, and disposed of locally...well, then locals ought to be concerned about their own safety and the safety of their children. After all, it would imply a child killer on the loose in Stuttgart; and, if certain accounts are to be believed, a violent killer who is also comfortable desecrating a human body. That's an entirely different animal, right there.

But I haven't seen one whit of that sort of concern. I mean, are locals keeping a closer eye on their kids, for example? Warning one another to keep an eye out for strangers, that sort of thing? Kwim?

Respectfully snipped by me

I'd like to bold this section & put it up in lights in Stuttgart...JS.

Thank you pittie! It is WS members like yourself who truly make a difference! Thank you for joining us. Let's help find this child, who it seems has been lost in her short life much longer than the two months she has been missing from her home in Stuttgart.

I've gotta run for a few, but when I get back in and have a couple hrs at my desk, I'll head down to the SAR thread to reopen again. Maybe we can return to routes of travel, transportation, etc in a more orderly fashion-as well as get a 'flyer spotted/flyer needed' thread up.

We've got a lot more to work with now. Let's do it for Cassie.

I think I'm caught up on reading all of the posts and y'all are doing an outstanding job. I'm following a few other cases and haven't been active at all here. I quoted Oriah's post because I wonder if the local folks may believe that BR is responsible, and with him being locked up there is no threat of a violent killer.

YAY on the SAR thread!!

If I circle back to sre's post about the parents and children of Stuttgart and their FB/social media posts and I bring in Oriah's post about the lack of fear in the town, I would have to conclude that there is a whole lot of gossip but not a lot of belief in it.

So perhaps no one really believes that Cassie was violently kidnapped, and LE doesnt believe that Cassie is a runaway so where does that leave us...or more importantly Cassie?

And why isnt everyone worried that there is a body of a teenage child laying out there somewhere in the woods of Stuttgart? They should be asking who is next.

Fair enough-maybe the people of the community believe that the person responsible is locked up.

But why do they think it was him?
