I have some connection with Walmart and have contacted the local store manager to see if anything can be done for PR. I hope I have not stepped on anyone's toes.

We need to find out from JC what a typical day for Cassie is like.
What time does she typically wake up?
Does she eat breakfast?
Does she leave to go to the library to log on to classes? What time?
Or does she study at home in her jammies?
Is she a big tv watcher? Home for certain shows?
Home for dinner every night at a certain time?
Curfew? If not, why not?

I have a feeling not much schooling was going on.
Maybe someone could have her Mom log in so we would know the date and time Cassie last took lessons?
Just mo, I'm thinking Mom JC didn't keep up with anything regarding her daughter.

Wish I could draw a three-ring Venn Diagram right here. The intersect is very small -- but the July case does demonstrate why some people have little faith in the SPD. Gun-toting "drug thugs" (former public school students) were involved in DR's murder (private Christian school graduate). Cassie is isolated from other teens (home schooler). Three very different social circles. Again, I have known these kids (especially Daniel) for several years.

I agree with got4 on this. There would probably be very little to no interaction between Cassie and the boys involved in DR's murder. Many people around town believe that the two accomplices (one being the chief of police's son) should have received harsher punishments or any kind of punishment for that matter. This town does not have much confidence in any level of local LE.

STM, I am not speaking for you, but I would say that this is abundantly clear and a big problem in this case. I think we have certainly touched on one of the reasons Cassie's case brought the attention of the feds. As for interaction between Cassie and the circle of peers that might have knowledge of or have been friends with the boys associated with the murder, I certainly dont have enough info as an outsider. Going through the SM of the kids in Stuttgart, I think you can see a fair amount of "wanna be" gangsta's so to speak. We didnt get a chance this morning to talk about gang activity in the town, but I have to say that the crime stats over all are very very concerning. Seriously. The crime stats dont even include drug offenses or weapons offences. So I am really interested in gang activity. Stuttgart is also close enough to Little Rock that I could envision a spill over.

Is it generally assumed that most people have weapons in the home and do they? Not that this seems to deter crime, I am just trying to get a sense of whether we should assume there were weapons in Cassie's home.

I do believe the petty crimes have decreased slightly over the past several months. However, between spring of 2013 and the end of summer 2014 my vehicle was broken into 4 times. Those are times when I forgot to lock my doors, I can't even begin to think how many times someone attempted to open them when they were locked. Our business on Main St. was broken into 3 times within that date range. We even had a car stolen that was sitting less than 20 feet from Main Street and it was either hot wired or loaded onto a trailer because my husband had the keys in his possession. (The business is less than 2 blocks from Cassie's home.) There were many car and home break-ins during that year time. I know crime has gone up everywhere, but it is sad how this small town has changed over the past 20 years.

This is a country town, there are many homes that contain at least 1 gun. There are many hunters living in this area, it's the south and people like their guns around here. There are quite a few men that I know that have a large and varied gun collection, but these aren't thugs and they aren't people that would abuse the use of a weapon. There have been some guns stolen from houses though so I'm sure they are still local and still in the wrong hands. I am quite surprised though that someone has not taken matters into their own hands and shot an intruder, maybe it would send a warning to all those thugs.

Her post made me giggle. I think she did that because she isn't sure if it's something she can say. I don't know anything more than the few things that she mentioned to me regarding the Watcher's Society. All I know is that they are a survivalist group located in the Casscoe area, that BR could very well be associated with. (BR has made a comment to my husband that one day he would run away and live off the land.) I'm not sure what WSs are very familiar with survivalist/doomsday groups, I am not, only watched some shows on TV.

Does anyone know if the Family Dollar at Main and 19th sells cigarettes by the pack?
Edit: I found a website that says Family Dollar, as a chain, sells cigarettes and it is a 7 minute walk approximately from 211 E 15th St.

Is there a missing poster there?

TY, STM-all of those vehicle break in's scream drugs to me...what I mean is the search for items to pawn or sell, spare change and the like. I am not implying that gun ownership is problematic of course. I am trying to get a sense of ownership-for example it seems that there is a fair possibility that not all weapons are registered so they might be flying a bit under the radar. I figured that hunting is part of the culture of the town-believe me there is no judging going on here.

What I am trying to tease out is in Cassie's home were there weapons and where they might be now. I am also looking for drug prevalence-the stats I found indicated that there is a solid drug problem in the town, but I am not sharing anything you probably dont know.

"All those thugs"-who are they? Teens, young adults, is it organized? One section of town vs another?

I do not know about Cassie's home school situation, but I need to say something from personal experience. The days of the isolated home schooler are long past, in most places. My son homeschools and I have to put the brakes on the socialization so we can do more academic work. There are literally options for socialization every second of the day! Most homeschoolers who are her age would be more self-directed. They get a curriculum and work through it. Or there are DVDs that you run on your computer that teach you and you do your workbook. Most parents do not have to be as involved once they are her age. I do not know how much goes on around her town, but since most of a traditional school day is spent in class and so people hang out after school, that is likely the same thing she did. After school was over, she likely hung out and socialized with other people/ kids. I just wanted to give insight that it is not as isolated and lonely as it is being portrayed, most of the time.

I think you would be surprised what some of our sleuthers are into, STM I have a working knowledge of Doomsday/Prepper/Patriot style groups. Is that a prevalent mindset in the area? Could be another reason for State Police and Federal involvement.

Oh, I figured there would be some "preppers" on here and even more individuals who are much better at researching those groups or activities than I am. If BR is part of that group, would that be a possibility as far as somewhere she could be held for a 9-month duration? ...just thinking of any and all possibilities.

This is the first I have heard of a group in the area, so I'm not sure if it would be alarming to state or federal LE. It is a good area for a "compound" though, very rural and many isolated areas around here with all available natural resources.

Yes, they have a cigarette selection there, but it is about 1/4 of a gas station or market selection size. It is the closest option to her home. And yes, they do have a poster beside their front entrance.

I have absolutely no idea if this is prevalent in the area or about JC's connection or involvement. I know there are a lot of homes in the area, most being outside of city limits that have underground storm shelters. I'm sure most are stocked with necessities in case of tornadoes, but this doesn't really qualify as "prepping"... but that's all I got on the subject. lol

I have no idea what you googled to get a positive response. Could you post a link so I can do some looking around of my own. I've always been interested in it, but our make-shift basement spot and tote of can goods doesn't really qualify...
