I know a judge would have to decide if this element is admissible in court, but it definitely bears study in that it shows an unhealthy pattern in relationships and makes me wonder about JC's life as a teenager like Cassie and what placed her in a position to make the same mistake twice (if not three times). For this to happen more than once, the odds of being unaware (as stated in Ch. 7 interview inside house) drops even more. I question her concept of what she thinks a "normal" family dynamic -- many of us raised with televisions in our homes saw "Leave It To Beaver," "Brady Bunch," "Family Ties," etc. But if from an overly religious household which didn't allow television (just a scenario, here), she might not know that extreme authoritarianism / submission can lead to a lifetime of dysfunction.

I was taken aback by the well-worn Bible on the table in front of blue-and-gold drapes interview where she shuffles flyers. The Bible may have been read cover-to-cover several times in hours of daily study with unguided interpretation. Was reading it an escape from mental or physical anguish? How well can she read for extended periods while heavily medicated? Were Scriptures ever taken out-of-context to justify abnormal behavior? I wondered if the Bible was hers alone, or could it be something highly sentimental from her own parent of family member.

Could be that the Bible was passed down from a grandparent, thus making it more worn. From my (very) religious background, I remember that it was common to pass down a Bible from one generation to the next.

I wonder if another possible angle might include how her peers feel knowing that someone their age has disappeared from such a small community? It is something that they have to be talking about and mulling over. Has it caused them to question their own personal safety? I mean missing cases are front and center in the media right now, including in their area....there is a very active case involving the toddler who disappeared.

(Just got home from basketball games.) This map looks pretty good. I think the general box is shifted a little too far to the south though, especially compared to what KFJ was holding up on the news clip. Is the yellow phone on your map an actual tower site? I am not familiar with triangulation, but can figure out how your box was derived between two towers? In my mind, I previously thought of there being a circle of something like 300 ft from specific tower that relayed ping. But if that is a confirmed tower, I would tilt the surface of dish a little more westward aiming at Daugherty Corner because I know the Ideker's reservoirs were hot spots and they are not inside your box. When traveling River Road, you have to slow down at Daugherty Corner. I have imagined Cassie's phone being tossed out of a moving vehicle's window while it slows down, just like when people toss trash out in the curve on our road.

It was just a basic start, the area is non specific, I just took what I could find from the media thread and it only said from casscoe to almyria so I was guessing. I only put the phone over casscoe as that was all I could find about the pings (it was late here last night when I thought, skib, get started on cassies map ) I appreciate all your input, if I get something wrong don't hesitate to pull me up on it, being in the UK I am far from local but I am learning, trying to get more familiar with the area.

Because I'm a weirdo, I googled the phrase "whisper in the wind" and the top result was a YouTube video of a wrestler named Jeff Hardy...it's apparently one of his signature moves. I'm sure it doesn't have anything to do with Cassie but it's still disturbing.

Well if you are weird than so am I. I was looking up the same type of thing. But I was trying to relate the phrase to a bible verse or Baron Samedi. The first link is actually an album write up from 2009 that has a song about him where the review mentions the phrase. I haven’t been able to access lyrics yet. I was coming here to post it earlier when I saw your post & went back to see if Baron Samedi was anything in the WWE world- and GUESS WHAT? He is! The Godfather has also gone by this name previously. I added a link on him and from Wiki & from cagematch.net as well showing his matches & where you can see he has been on publicized matches against Hardy. I am still looking up current programming, if it was even on earlier in the fall. I am not one to watch WWE. I do wonder though if anyone knows if he was ever into that type of thing?

I am not having any luck with the bible connection, but I am not a very religious person. I do have a friend that is a pastor and will try to reach out to him and ask. I do wonder if BR was leaking something out in his words though….

I think we can help you SMT with drafting something for your friend. I think if we can come up with something that changes the direction of the standard sort of cut and paste regarding her case, it would be great. If your journalist friend can give a high level regarding the public campaign so far including the booth and the number of flyers/fingerprint cards distributed that would be great. Another high level of the searches of course. But to me the "meat and potatoes" would be identifying clearly who hasnt been cleared IE: is it still BR and JC and where BR is exactly and why. If he is in custody still, and according to Vinelink he is, why is he in custody and is it related? If your friend could do a high level regarding past history in the house like domestic disturbance calls and CPS cases if they exist. I mean, who is this child? That is the key to finding her I think. Maybe we can gather other thoughts and streamline this for you.

I bet your journalist friend can get an interview with Detective Duke.

I feel like a lot of this would be a great article but I think it should be a carefully worded mix IMO. I think a decent article level setting the case could easily be done- I mean how many basic questions do we really have? I mean most of us are used to seeing this, think of the everyday person with no exposure to the MP world. Something needs to go out & say "YES she had this on or NO we aren't sure" HONEST info of what is truly known & something that will pull the public in & make them all want to find Cassie. They need to know about her & who she is. Sure a few moms will want to look, a few locals that knew her-but they need to do what should have from DAY 1-make the entire community feel like Cassie is theirs. & of course the info about what has been done showing the lack of interest wo saying so. If done right I'd think it would motivate ppl to want to find Cassie & give their 2 cents -question is who gets to take those tips? That should be orchestrated carefully.

What I find disappointing is that Cassie's birthday is tomorrow & all I've seen is another "light a candle" online event. No offense-it's nice for those who are far. BUT why nothing else? Nothing that shows who Cassie is? A prearranged event to give gloves to the homeless if she liked to help others, a food drive for the pantry in town, a collection for animal shelter supplies because she likes puppies, toy drives for kids for the holidays, etc Any if these things serve 2 different purposes-awareness for Cassie & giving back to the community, people remember these things & it gives Cassie a little more of a personality to those that don't know her. I know I've babbled about this before but seriously WHYYYYY aren't these things being done? Are businesses refusing? Are there not people willing to organize them? Is JC scaring ppl away? Even creating larger posters & standing in a high traffic area in a large group would attract attention. Mind you all of these things would require alerting media-but I'm sure KK would love to send a press release. I'm really wondering where they are-do they not help set this type of thing up? Or were they told not to?

Great thoughts, and great questions. I do think that collective experience here could help frame what we are looking for from journalists. I agree that transparency in terms of what is known and what isnt known is imperative. A journalist has the tools to ask the questions of all parties in an unbiased way.

We need someone to clear up why BR is being held. There shouldnt be any mystery there. We need to know what is known/not known as fact about Cassies physical description. Clear specific information. And why it is/isnt known would be nice too.

You know what I would like not to see? Any further statement about the lack of Amber Alert/Morgan Nick alert. The ship has sailed imo. It is an unnecessary distraction in Cassie's case at this point because it focuses peoples attention away from what can still be done for her. JMVHO.

And, may I add, a federal crime to have knowledge of and not report to LE.

So peeps, heads up- if you have heard of child being talked about on a specific electronic device, seen ANYTHING that might resemble child on a specific electronic device, accidentally uploaded or downloaded anything resembling child onto a specific electronic device, or otherwise discovered anything resembling child on an electronic device- report it to federal LE. It is not only the law....but a moral obligation that may very well save a childs' life.

Now if you were to remove the existing gray box and draw a straight line from the Cell Tower on Hwy. 130 and the one nearest the river, the line will almost directly go through the Ideker's reservoirs (there are two side by side, the one on the left looks a little like the state of Maine). Make those two towers the tips of your diamond (lower left and top right).

Speaking of the local legal scene in Stuttgart...any locals care to share their thought or experiences with the judicial branch of government?
For example (and I realize work and volunteer work put me in a unique position to have this info) but I know which judges I want to see come up on the docket in my area, for certain cases. Such as child protective cases, guardian cases, cases involving a lot of technical evidence, major crime cases, crimes against women and children, racially heated crimes, hate crimes, etc. And which judges, when I see their names come up, well...my heart sinks.

Any local input on this available? No names needed.

Caring4, I included surveillance of several different sorts on a FOIA. I was expecting confirmation of 3 sources at least. Nothing so far. I also spent about 4 hrs on the phone dealing with casino securities, regarding video surveillance specifically.

A diamond is not exactly correct to properly trangulate using those two towers. You need the radius from each as per the tower height and receivers used by providers, then to overlay on the topo. Otherwise, ping info can be deceiving.

Ya'll are trying to pinpoint how that seach area fits in with the pings, correct? The triangulation needed to be done correctly, in order for that info to be correct kwim?

Do we know what method was used to initially triangulate?
