Today's Stuttgart Daily Leader announces searchers (does not name which K9 organization) are coming for Mr. Gibbs.

http://www.stuttgartdailyleader.com/article/20150120/NEWS/150129938
When she heard of another missing person case in the Arkansas where dogs were used she immediately sent investigators an email pushing them to use the dogs in her father’s case. She quickly received an email from ASP stating, “As a matter of fact we are.”

So then, WHO was missing that had search dogs? When?

Monticello is about 90 miles south of Stuttgart in Drew County. Woods are much thicker in that part of the state.

(BTW -- the KATV reporter Jordan Bontke telling this story had interviewed JC and BR together, then JC by herself on-camera)

Thanks. About Bontke, I wonder if that's a good contact to take on this case as a personal project...

I am partial to KATV, as most people in Stuttgart are, because one of the main anchors grew up here. Another prominent news person from this area is TJ Holmes who is now on the early morning ABC World News Now. He is from West Memphis and was formerly employed at KATV.

Bontke already has a stake in it so might be more inclined to take it on. How to get the fire lit?.....

So, minor change of subject... I just want to make sure I have this info correct. DB was sentenced on Jan 14th for 24 months on a commercial burglary and a B&E. That intake went in on the 16th, but he's hanging out waiting for a spot in Lonoke. Is that correct? That IS the correct DB, correct? If anyone can clarify that for me, I would greatly appreciate it. TIA.

ETA: Also want to make sure that I am understanding that JC has actually been released from SO status, but RC has not. And he is currently in OK, correct? Just want to make sure rumors have not gotten confused with facts or statements re: this. Thanks again if anyone can confirm for me.
Please also note that if he went in when the log posted, and didn't get out early, BR should be getting released this coming week.

Interesting that most of the men in Cassie's life have been jailbirds at one time or another.

I have nothing to add, but that's never stopped me from talking before. Someone in that town (or family) needs to speak up for this child. My mind can not comprehend the silence over a missing child.

poor Cassie Compton...do her friends even miss her? And her little dog, is it still at her home?

  • #732
When JC moves out of the house, it'll speak volumes.

Pull a Billie move ??
Hailey Dunn's mom moved too, much to the dismay of many
I know some of us say this case reminds us of our Hailey girl, but really with Hailey , she had a whole bunch of sane and/or crazy people pulling for her, plus some of the affidavits were made public...even though her case was so fubar, at least people were talking and actively searching ( I guess you could call it that, in some instances) plus there were several FB's for her ( oy vey the squabbling, and lordy it all got hung out)

it's so eerie quiet for Cassie though...I think her grandparents are in town, would be nice if they could get the paper to interview them so they can SPEAK UP for CASSIE

They are? This is the first I've heard of that.

^ the FB according to mom

why does she keep posting on her page, why not post on Cassie's? I mean she has Cassie's PW, so she could go on there & friend herself and then post on Cassie's page so all her friends can see...I mean I reckon they all know she is missing but so many are plain clueless sometimes, kwim

She doesn't deserve to be friends with Cassie.

Anyone know what sort of violence (in terms of types) occur most frequently in the Stuttgart high schools?

Heading to Stuttgart this afternoon. It is sad because I know the whole time I will be wishing there was something I could do for Cassie.

Thanks Tupelo.
Talk about her. If you stop for gas, ask in the gas station if there's any word. If you stop for lunch or a snack, ask the waitperson if there's been any word. If you have errands to run on a shop or store, ask the cashier if they've heard anything about Cassie Compton. No need to share your opinion or anything like that- just talk about her.
I once was in a town on vacation where there was a missing child (kind of a cold case- she'd been gone 6 months) and myself and my traveling partner noticed there seemed to be no local interest- no posters, no chatter, etc- anyway, it just so happened that part of his luggage had been lost, so we had to go to a CVS to get toiletries. There was a kid at the checkout counter, and my partner asked if there had been any word about the missing girl. He said, "Why? Are you a cop?" so my friend was like, well, no, I was just wondering, I saw it on the news awhile ago. The checkout kid said, "Not that I know of. I don't watch the news but they say at school she ran away."

Then we stopped at McDonalds to get something to eat, and I asked the girl checking us out if she'd heard if the girl had been found. She said, 'Oh no....I think she ran away, no one really blamed her either.' As we were walking away, I saw her turn around to another coworker and motion toward us (not unkindly) and say something. Couldn't hear what she said- but I do know that we put that missing child back in at least three minds that day.

Sometimes that's all you can do.

Good luck, have a safe trip, and thank you for all you've done for Cassie.
