AR AR - Cassie Compton, 15, Stuttgart, 14 Sept 2014 #6

  • #161
I can only hope, although dont feel its likely, that Cassie somehow had means and opportunity and ran away to start a new life! But, as I said, at her age, without someone supporting her, which would be illegal, its just not very likely. Im local to the AH case, a girl the same age who went missing and by a mircle was returned home, but not until she had been held captive and tourchered for 9 long months. She got so much publicity and community involvement, it's sad to see the stark difference in Cassie's case!
I wish someone would provide answers, starting with the day she went with HS & family. How about proof she even went to the derby? No one has a single picture of her there?

You would assume LE checked this out, so early into the investigation.

Someone saw her that night "around 15th street" near her home....but not AT IT, so that wouldn't be HS who said he dropped her off AT HER HOME, right? How far from her house is that? Were they sure it was her? I hadnt seen anything about ANYONE saying theyd seen her after HS dropped her off. Who saw her?

That is a good point Criminal Justice mom. Who did see her? It doesn't say at her home but NEAR it.
Quote from the news article above :
"Cassie was last seen in Stuttgart near her home on 15th street."

That is a very good point there! Does anyone remember the rumor that the LE investigated a lead but it turned out it was another girl with blonde hair and ppl thought it was Cassie (in a building if I'm right) but it turned out it wasnt her???? It could have been that girl ppl saw 'that night ''around the 15th street'''!?

PS : I'm wondering something here... I've been listening to the websleuth radio from time to time and there were shows about missing ppl etc.... I'm wondering if Tricia could take some time (or a special) on the radio show to talk about Cassie case and have the local sheriff or ppl following her case if they are willing to talk?

Missing persons' loved ones gather at never-forget event

By Jeannie Roberts

Article in today's (6-11-2015)Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
I'm too much of a newbie to know how to (or if it's allowed) post the article. Has a photo of JC being hugged by Colleen Nick, mother of Morgan Nick, missing since 1995. Interesting read and hopefully she has gained some insight on being more helpful.

BBM says speaks volumes IMO. Note the last statement! It states what she believes or what happened IMO. There is an old saying that when someone tells you what happened or who they are...believe it!

"She was barely a 100 pounds and thought she could take on anything," Compton said, then looked up fiercely. "Stay involved in your child's life and make sure you know what they're doing. Be careful who they hang out with. You can know someone a 100 years and still not know them."

Sorry, in further thought; she knows knows there was an altercation of some kind given her choice to say Cassie "thought she could take on anything." What caused her to make the 4 above statements? It seems to me she has knowledge of what happened. She is not open to a runaway situation and Cassie had runaway in the past, but...she is not giving that scenario credence. I guess there is a reason her & her boyfriend were named suspects. Until that changes, I see no reason to think anyone else is involved. When LE is silent & the FBI is involved IMO they "know" & are just working on the court case. There is no unknown killer on the loose...they know.

Agree. I just checked the latest and seen that there is still nothing. I think she just ran away. Jmo

I really hope that you're right, but every single thing I've read makes me doubt your theory -- and I guess that even if she ran away initially, I am just as worried for her now. It's not like she could get a, how to put this -- a legal job and support herself, right?

I think the part I bolded is a lot more telling about what JC theorizes.

I am so very proud of JC for going to that event, getting a case worker assigned to her, and her taking the bold steps to find Cassie. I had completely given up on her and I finally have faith again. Everything I think I know is hopefully being told to these people, and they will be able to piece all the clues together and start investigating. We may suddenly see progress. I hope so.

BBM = Past tense
Compton smiled as she talked about her daughter, a vivacious teenager who liked to draw and experiment almost daily with her hair color and style.
"She's my sweet little angel. We were so close," Compton said.

I think CC's mom knows CC is not a runaway and is not here anymore :( , is what I get from the article.

I hate having to write the above but it's how/what I feel.

I wish I could get off this fence and go one way or the other. I think that judy going to that event is great. Imo if she was guilty on any level, she didn't have to go to it.

The past tense is something to think about, but I've also seen TS reference to Cassie in past tense also on one of her pictures of Cassie.

I talk about my kids NOW in past tense sometimes. Depends on the topic and age they were when discussing.

Also, she hasn't seen Cassie since mid September, so past tense is appropriate. Everything is not sinister, and hope is needed here.

I don't understand how JC drove BY HERSELF to an unfamiliar location when it was certain she would be in emotional distress following the event. (The drive from home to Camp Robinson takes an hour to 90 minutes.) I know she wouldn't want to spend two hours alone in a vehicle with me because I would ask so many questions, but why not call a pastor or community leader to arrange a ride if no friends were available? Did anyone from SPD attend? Did the reporter interview her or simply repeat quotes as overheard at the table? (That reporter JR is a former editor of the Stuttgart paper.)

Imo I think judy is on her own path to finding her daughter, thats the impression I get. So I don't understand why it's hard to believe that she would drive herself to this event or any others.
