AR - Day care 'teacher' caught on tape raping 4 yr old

  • #61
Very true about the media. I guess it really just comes down too what you have been exposed to. I can post a link to how many CMs there are here. It is just unreal. I am happy to say that one moved into our "nice" neighborhood and I took it upon myself to print off the flyer and make everyone aware of it. Some thought I was crazy, but I just hope that some watch their children more closly around said person. Lucky for us, he got a flyer and no longer lives here.

Ok, this debate is taking away from the real issue here. A daycare provider raped a little girl while she slept.

I agree. I apologize for getting heated and off topic.

This guy should be jailed or killed.

Great post Pixies!!

I am so sorry I helped in getting this thread off topic!

Trusting relatives is really no different than trusting a close friend. You either trust some one or you don't, blood relation doesn't matter. If there is a family member that makes you twitchy, even for no reason, then don't trust them.

There are times when a parent needs a non-parent to babysit their child(ren). Yes, you are always taking a chance but you still have to do it.

The trick is to balance out your anxieties against your trust and character judgement.

I ws unable to find a myspace for him. BUT I am not good with facebook, if anyone wants to give that a try

Exactly XcomSquaddie.

Go with your feelings when deciding who should watch your child. As for me, an 18 year old male would not be my choice. That's the age of my abuser.

It's sad that a child has to grow up to be distrusting because of what they have been through. I hope this little girl is able to have a normal life without too many problems from what Bubba did to her.

I find it disgusting that the daycare director did not let the parents know right away so they could be aware of signs that their child may have been abused as well. If this guy had not been arrested, I doubt if the parents would have ever been notified.

Oh please, let's not make this a male bash-fest. I take offense to this. Women abuse children too.

I'm a male and I babysat children for years. I got paid to order a pizza and play Nintendo with them. :)

I agree. I take offense to it and I'm a female!

I'm a mother of a 7 year old and even though I KNOW I'm going to be bashed by people on the board for leaving my daughter with a man, I do leave her home with my husband who is her stepfather. I attend school every Tuesday and Wednesday night and they play Nintendo 64 together or he'll play one of his games online and she'll play her Webkins online (both PC's are in our office).

Mind you, I trust this man with mine and my daughter's lives and he has raised her since she was 2. I KNOW he would NEVER ever even *think* of doing anything to her...

...but there are those people that think ALL men are evil and ALL men will harm a child if the child is left alone with them... What a shame to have that kind of viewpoint!

JMHO!

It is just so sad. Our children are not safe anywhere:mad:

I told BF I wanted to home school Marley. He said okay you really need to stop reading that forum...LOL

Sheltering children to the point of excess doesn't teach them a LICK about life. JMHO

The odds are actually AGAINST your child ever being molested, kidnapped, or murdered. But then again, some people are just naturally paranoid and overly protective...

Amen.

Back to the case at hand. How would you feel if it were your little girl who experienced this abuse? What do you think should happen to this guy?

dee10134- My daughter is now 14, I meet my husband when she was 15 months old, in the last 13 years he has watched my daughter more times than I could count. He loves her the same way he loves our son. I am blessed that I have many wonderful men in my family that I would gladly leave my children with.
My dad, my husband , my father in law( before he died) and my sisters husband watch my kids and I am thankful to have them, there are wonderful men out there, now that said....there are awful vile men ( and women)out there also. I believe its a parents responsiblity to listen to their "gut instinct" and to be careful who they leave their kids with. I personally dont like daycares but that is for many reasons. But we shouldnt lump all men into the same catagory.

:waitasec: Who bashed? That's just my opinion about overly protective people...

I never pointed AT her. Sorry if she or anyone else took it that way...

I know I would be furious if I had my child at this daycare and didn't know about the "problem" till later! What the heck is the video for?

  • #75
Why is there even an 18 year old working at this type of place? What type of requirments are there to work at a day care? Sorry I have never known one person who has used them.

I might have missed this but did they see this on the video and didnt do anything until this lil girl said Bubba touched her?

oh sorry, i forgot my main point in my previous post. I was trying to say that parents should be respected for wanting to protect their kids, but we have to look at each individual and not lump every man ( or woman) in the same catagory.

Indy, when I read the article I wondered the same thing about him being called a "teacher". I guess my understanding of that term in a daycare situation is wrong! What are the typical standards for "teachers" in daycare?

The video said that was typical, btw, for 18 yr olds to be teachers at that daycare.

I know as a parent, I probably would have been satisfied about having video or closed circuit cameras in that facility. Although it didn't seem to help catch anyone doing anything, so what's the point of those?

I agree 110%. I had a wonderful experience with my daughter's daycare center before she started school.

Either way, I feel that there should be much STRICTER regulations on who is allowed to work in a daycare facility or in a school or other setting with children around. It seems like some places have stepped up their background checks, etc., but then there's people like this 🤬🤬🤬 that apparently slipped through the cracks.

I honestly believe the education systems do try their hardest to ensure they're allowing trustworthy people around our children, but there are always those people that slip through the cracks.
