Can't wait until this Saturday when there will be a birthday party for my youngest grand child. Jeremy's youngest son will be there for this happy occasion. So will Jeremy's mama and brother and sister and neice. We will think of you, Jeremy. Wish we could see you there..

A June trial was scheduled Wednesday for a Sequoyah County man accused of stabbing to death a man he described as his "best friend."

Walter Lee Walton, 36, is accused of fatally stabbing 27-year-old Jeremy Travis on Sept. 11 in Fort Smith.

Sebastian County Circuit Court Judge James Cox scheduled Walton's trial for the week of June 20, unless he and prosecutors reach a plea agreement no later than June 6.

<modsnip>

He is incarcerated at the Grimes Unit in Newport awaiting trial, although he was briefly returned to Fort Smith for his appearance in court Wednesday.

First-degree murder is a Class Y felony punishable by 10 to 40 years or life in prison.

thinking about you today. You are going to have a new neice or nephew. I hope it is a boy to go with their sweet baby girl who was born right before you were killed.

Bless you, nanny2five. On April 29th, I mark the anniversary of the death of my father in law, RKL, the 36th birthday of my First child, CRLB, and the hearing on WLW related to Jeremy's murder, as to what questions will be allowed.

Dear God, please bless our family and keep us strong as we continue to seek justice for Jeremy and peace for ourselves. Please let the trial be fair, just and swift.

so apparently he has until june 6th to reach a plea agreement or it goes to trial on june 20. i didn't see it in the article but last i heard he was going to act as his own attorney. my guess is, and its just a guess, but i figure his court app. att. wanted him to take a plea and he thinks he is smart enough to talk his way out of it. so i doubt he will make a plea before june 6th. i believe he wants to go to court and say ugly things about my DD and about Jeremy in an effort to "justify" what happened. imo it ain't gonna work. I plan to be there along with others and i know you all plan to be there and i hope it makes him very uncomfortable with all of us staring at him!
justice for jeremy!
