I don't know why Social Services WOULDN'T take these steps, given these revelations. If even one girl was untruthful in stating that the abuse had ended more than 3 years prior to the December 2006 interviews, the parents obstructed the investigations if they coached their daughters. And checking to see there was nothing going on in Josh's own family would be reasonable. If a man will molest his sisters, are his daughters safe?

Has TLC canceled future shows yet, or are they still reluctant to discontinue this money-grabber reality farce? I haven't read/heard anything about the future of the show for several days. Last I read, TLC was considering a spin-off that would feature the married siblings with the exclusion of Josh, his wife, and family. Numerous sponsors have withdrawn support, so why won't TLC cancel the Duggars in any way, shape, or form?

He probably wasn't sexually interested in the way I perceive it when talking about pedophile. I think he was curious, and figured a smaller child has the same parts (vulva), and it's more likely not to say anything.

IMO this is executive speak for this show was a huge easy cash cow for everyone involved and they are trying to figure out if and how they can still make money off of it.

BBM - I didn't follow it too closely at the time, but I recall a host of children being removed from a compound. The secrecy and indoctrination had infected even the youngest in that community, the Mothers protected the adult perps and DFS were extremely limited in what they could achieve in protecting the children.

Freedom of religion has certainly become a 'law unto itself' within fundamentalist and extreme sections. Sharia law that seems to equate to terrorism has lived forever under a different name and disguise within 'civilised' countries. Isn't any faction that conceals rape, incest or paedophilia, condones the devaluation of females and uses faith as a cover, simply a form of terroristic behaviour?

I wonder if they are trying to let the story die down and make sure the Duggar molester and parents have their media day. I see it as a little like Brian Williams. PR people and legal people are making the plan for the network. IMO, the Duggars are out. TLC will probably be having new vetting processes that coincide with the ultimate announcement. Honey Boo Boo and this are real wake up calls.

If the "elder" won't put his name on it, I'm not going to believe it. If you're going to "do it, say it, or write it, you OWN it."

And then, three months later, when news of Gothard’s alleged misbehavior became public, sweet, loving mother Kelly Bates, the mom who—when compared to Michelle Duggar—seems so much more honest, took a move straight from the Duggar playbook. According to message board posters at FreeJinger.org, she allegedly deleted these pictures from her family website making it seem as though Gothard never happened. And while a picture of the Gothard cake is now back up on the revamped family site, it has a tag on the bottom: “Groom’s Cake.” Because if you can’t make your secrets go away, you can always give them new labels.

One factor some critics are forgetting is that the show is not currently in production, meaning there are no camera crews following around any of the Duggars right now. This takes away some of the urgency from TLC's internal deliberations.

well this sort of contradicts Jim Bob's version too... wasn't it supposed to be a stern talking-to that the trooper gave him?
But this sounds rather disinterested.

Megyn Kelly always asks the hard questions, she doesn't coddle anyone. She is not even close to being like Huckabee.
