This goes for any of the victims, including the secondary victims, imo. If any of them need help to get out, all they need to do is say the word. I'm sure there is no shortage of people that would help them escape and recover!

"A juvenile record doesn't cease to be a juvenile record when the person ceases to be a juvenile," Zega told CNNMoney.

It was never a juvenile record to begin with. The perpetrator was an adult at the time of the investigation. Respectfully, who does Zega know who is a player in this case?

This is not central to the controversy imo-it is simply an attempted distraction. What is central to the controversy is that this family went on national television after letting a serial child molester victimize their children and the child of other people with virtually no repercussions in the secular world, all the while pushing their bigoted beliefs. When questioned regarding their actions and when people quite naturally questioned the lack of participation in the investigation by the person who confessed to the crimes, they went on national television AGAIN and tried to save their brand with some nonsense spin that made them look worse.

IDK if Josh is being sensible-I think Josh doesnt want to be questioned regarding the extent of his actions. He is using his family as a shield and it is wrong to me on so many levels.

With all due respect for the girls, I have to say I'm disappointed and shocked at their response to this, trying to brush off incestuous child molestation but they believe that it is not ok to hold hands until courting, no frontal hugs, and no kissing until marriage?

And they still want a TV show, all the crocodile tears, to me, say they just want the almighty $$$$.

Let's break it down....

They did not, as implied during the interview, fully cooperate with police during the 2006 investigation. Jim Bob refused to produce Josh for a police-requested interview and stopped cooperating with the probe.

Jim Bob told Fox News that he and Michelle were not legally required to report their son’s actions. Arkansas law professor Michael Johnson, who explained that, no, the Duggars could have (and should have) gone to jail, subject to six years of imprisonment and a $10,000 fine. Arkansas Code 5-27-221 ‘Permitting Abuse of a Minor’, by having once learned of the behavior, they recklessly allowed it to continue. Not only that, but the Duggar parents are homeschool teachers, and are responsible for telling authorities about the behavior under Arkansas state law.


Jim Bob and interviewer Megyn Kelly both repeatedly referred to the records as being “illegally released,” there was nothing illegal about it. A Northwest Arkansas Democrat Gazette article says the documents were not protected and subject to the Freedom of Information Act like any other similar record. Josh had attained his majority at the time it was released, and once his name and all the victims’ names were blacked out, it was subject to FOI.

The Duggars also failed to mention that they were investigated by the Department of Human Services.

Regarding Joe Hutchens, the former police officer assigned to Josh’s case who is currently serving a 56-year prison sentence for child - Jim Bob claimed that it was a random match-up, but Hutchens suggests otherwise: He said he knew Jim Bob well from his job and had even taught a couple of classes to car dealerships with him. In addition, Hutchens – who was not promised anything in return for his interview and told only that it was part of an investigation – said that Jim Bob specifically sought him out to talk to Josh.

Michelle insisted to Kelly that her daughters, including Jill, 23, and Jessa, 22, "weren't even aware" that they had been molested by their teen brother. But in the police report, one of the victims alleged in an interview with investigators that Josh touched another victim while sitting in a chair and became so upset, she ran out of the room.

Jim Bob, downplayed his son's horrific behavior, claiming he touched his sisters "over their clothes while they were sleeping." But one of the victims claimed Josh "touched" her "on the skin" in the "private" area after he pulled her dress up and then pulled down the pants she was wearing under the dress.

Jim Bob also told Kelly that Josh was "just curious about girls" during the time of the molestations. But it was far from just hormonal teenage exploring. According to a second police report, one of the victims was just 5 years old when she was groped by Josh.

Michelle said she doesn't "let boys babysit" following the sex abuse nightmare. But Josh was known for chaperoning his younger sisters on courtship dates.

After the incidents, Michelle said she prohibited any younger children from sitting on any older kids' laps. But in the 2014 Duggar family Christmas photo, Jackson, then 10, is sitting in big brother James' lap.

Behavioral analyst Dr. Lillian Glass– who has served as an expert witness in Federal criminal cases involving child molestation — is weighing in with her own opinion:

“As a body language expert and behavioral analyst, I am absolutely sickened by this,” she said, alleging that the Duggars were “lying and deceptive throughout the entire interview.”

Dr. Glass, who is an expert in vocal and behavioral forensics, said, "In answering the first question, Jim Bob shows the palms of his hands which shows he is lying. Also, Michelle volunteers too much information which is a form of deception."

Another tell-tale sign that the Duggar's could have been lying, according to Dr. Glass is that "Michelle would look to him for him constantly for reassurance when she speaks. She is constantly volunteering too much information, which is another sign that she is lying. She lies throughout the entire interview."

"He knew that he was wrong," says Michelle Duggar. "But they weren't even aware," Glass claims, referring to the molestation of Josh Duggar's younger sisters. "The fact that Josh Duggar was not at this interview says it all. He doesn't need his parents there trying to protect him."

"The water works were the worst," Dr. Glass tells Radar after seeing Michelle's on-camera crying. "Michelle pretends she is crying but there are no tears. No one cries without tears. She is sobbing and there are absolutely no tears! Another thing that struck me is that Michelle wiped one eye at a time. You don't cry one eye at a time."

"Michelle and Jim Bob both repeat several phrases throughout the entire interview. They said 'ray of hope' and 'as parents we feel like failures' several times. This whole entire thing was so obviously rehearsed," Dr. Glass says.

After Jim Bob describes how his son, Josh, "fondled the girls while they were asleep," he clasps his hands together and according to Dr. Glass, "Clasping his hands shows that he is holding something very valuable in and keeping it to himself for self-comfort."

"Jim Bob and Michelle are only concerned with their show getting pulled off the air and they do not care about the effect this has had on their family."

"Throughout the entire interview, Jim Bob was guarding his privates. Men do this when they are feeling vulnerable," Dr. Glass adds.

Dr. Glass notices several inconsistencies throughout their interview. "When asked if they had ever feared that the treatment did not work, Jim Bob looked down and away. This shows that he was thinking of his next lie. He knows that the treatment didn't work. He repeats himself twice and says 'no, no.' This is another sign that he is lying," she claims.

After the reporter asks the Duggars, "Was there any motivation for the police chief to hurt your family?," Jim Bob and Michelle "stumble over each other's words," Dr. Glass mentions. "They both say agenda at the same time. They say agenda multiple times. They are on television to save their show and make the police department the bad guy for releasing the records."

When Michelle defends her stance on transgender people, even Kelly cannot believe what she is hearing. According to Dr. Glass, "Comparing transgender individuals to child molesters is so ridiculous. Michelle says that she is protecting young girls by not letting guys into their dressing room. She let her son into her daughter's bedroom! She is deflecting this to transgender people. That shows how distorted her thinking is."

Regarding Jill and Jessa's interview clip:

According to Dr. Glass, the girls were just as fake as Jim Bob and Michelle. "She is blaming the police department and not even talking about the fact that she was molested by her brother," Glass says. "This shows that this whole agenda is to save their show. They are both in complete denial and this family should never be allowed on the air again."

Re: the putt putt golf scene. First off, WOW & WTF ! All of the kooky AOG's in my family are from my mother's side. My dad is what they might refer to as a ' secular' Christian. He doesn't think you have to go to church every Sunday and avoid the opposite sex at all times and we were allowed to wear makeup and jeans and earrings and listen to 'radio' music, etc. He's a very good and honest man and a far better Christian imho than the aforementioned. He knows very clearly what is right and wrong whether or not it is written in the Bible. Had my dad seen JB at the putt putt doing that with us as children in tow, he would have said something to him. " Stop being VULGAR. My kids are here. " So here is a man JB, who judges everyone else while carrying on absolutely in a VULGAR fashion in public and in front of his kids. My own AOG family members would never EVER ever do something so gross within eyesight of another human being. There is something very weird going on with JB Duggar, very weird indeed .

The rumors of Joshua Duggar being sexually inappropriate as a teenager were circulating for years, but no one could prove it until In Touch Weekly really started digging into it. My bosses received a tip and then sent me and a team to Springdale, Ark., to start digging around. One tipster led me to another, and then another. I have to say it was good old-fashioned reporting on the ground and a lot of door-knocking. Also a lot of leg work from our team of excellent reporters and editors. I'd love to take full credit, but it wasn't a one-man job.

I have never seen the humping/miniature golf video. I wont look for it-I will be scarred for life I am sure.

Josh was an adult when the investigation started. Lather, rinse, repeat. The victims names were redacted, but Josh was NOT a minor when the investigation was started. Sure, this set of crimes occurred when he was allegedly a minor. That makes no difference from the standpoint of releasing the docs. He was not a minor and was not subject to the protections.

Additionally the court doesnt have a leg to stand on when it comes to destroying them imvho...there is nothing in place that would require it certainly. Sort of makes you wonder if there was more material that was held back which has now gone poof. Like interviews with church members, friends of the family, raw video from the Oprah interview, medical records....kwim?

Well, I don't know that we know that. For all we know maybe Josh wishes his parents would shut their pieholes and get out of the spotlight.

At least he isn't going on TV and trying to defend the indefensible.
