In 2013, conservative reality TV star Josh Duggar—of TLC’s 19 Kids and Counting fame—was named the executive director of the Family Research Council, a conservative lobbying group in D.C. which seeks “to champion marriage and family as the foundation of civilization, the seedbed of virtue, and the wellspring of society.” During that time, he also maintained a paid account on Ashley Madison, a web site created for the express purpose of cheating on your spouse.

WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT!!! I would LOL if this wasn't so incredibly tragic for his little sisters.

No, just NO!

I just saw this online... I shouldn't be shocked, yet I am. This is just pathetic. What a horrible husband. And I feel awful for his wife who has been brainwashed to "stand by her man" and she'll never dare question him or divorce him.

You cannot make it up ! What you say now, Duggars? Did he clean up his act? Oh man, the poor wife :(

If I am 100% honest, I do not feel bad for his wife one bit. She is an adult. She chose him and now is choosing to stay with him KNOWING all this. His sisters were children. They did not have a choice.

Now the Duggars will have to plug a new show for marital counseling !!!!! Seriously, can we just say once and for all Josh Duggar has an issue with sex, end of story. I hope his wife will flee for her safety and that of her kids. Now is the time, young lady. You can do it, be strong. God will protect YOU and your babies. You will be ok !

I won't feel bad for her if she stays. I feel bad for her now, going through this.

I agree with you on the one hand but I think she's so sheltered and immature compared to others her age who grew up in ' normal ' households that I just do not know. My mother grew up in this type of atmosphere and her entire attitude about men, dating, sex, marriage is 100% skewed and not reality based. Still today, even though she's come a long way a lot of that brainwashing can not be undone.

But these women are raised to obey thy husband.

With respect, I'm not sure how much choice she had or has in the matter. The marriage was basically arranged. Her parents belong to the same perverse religious sect as the Duggars. I would imagine that her opinion was not a matter of anyone's concern. She would have also lacked any ability to evaluate the situation objectively, and would have been unlikely to have voiced any opposition. I don't really know enough to judge her, but I fear that she is also a victim of the patriarchal and chauvinistic lifestyle that the Duggars and her parents espouse.

I hear you. Nonetheless, I stand by my feelings about her. If she thinks that any god would allow children to be raped, and their rapist to be free, and their pain victims'- to be denied; she is as sick as he is. Adulthood is adulthood. She HAS to know this is not right. They live in society, not in an FLDS compound.

FWIW

19 Kids and Counting star Josh Duggar is among those who had a paid membership to the cheating website Ashley Madison, according to data published by Gawker. The affair service was the victim of a hack in July, with member information posted online. ,,,

That credit card was used to purchase two different monthly Ashley Madison subscriptions, costing $986.76 from February 2013 to May 2015. He reportedly opened another account using his address in Oxon Hill, Maryland, where he lived when he was lobbying as part of his job as the executive director of the conservative Family Research Council. That account was registered in July 2014, and was paid monthly through May 2015.

I was wondering how this information came to light.

You don't sound witchy at all. Everyone's opinion is valid and all of our opinions come from our life experiences. I just know how deeply this religious freakshow brainwashing can get into the mind and they can make outrageously illogical choices that seem perfectly normal to them. I would imagine she feels right now ( and may have been told by her parents and inlaws) that divorce will send her to hell and damn her children as well.

I totally see where you're coming from. I just think she is also a victim of the ideology as well. I don't know what sort of access she has to the media, or what information she has seen about her husband. She is not as sick as him, as she, so far as I know, hasn't molested anyone, and may have been damaged by her religion to the point at which she cannot question him at all. Her body is not in a FLDS compound, but so far as I know, from birth, her mind has been in a compound just as bad. I would tend to agree that she is complicit, but I am going to give her a bit of the benefit of the doubt because I know that she has been brought up in a religion that is as misogynist as anything that radical Islam has to offer.

I don't think that this is a religious sect. It's a fertility cult. Duggars don't parent, they replicate. While JBD is showing the cameras that he, as a good god-fearing father, is worrying about the hemlines of his daughters' dresses, his son is using the internet to prepare to commit adultery. Sadly, I think even if he would have known what JD was up to, JBD would have cared more about the hemlines.

You haven't heard? Hackers just released the names and accounts of Ashley Madison subscribers.

Not surprised at all....
