Her brother is offering assistance in leaving, but her parents are insisting that she stay because (according to her brother) they're worried how it will look if she leaves and/or divorces her husband.

What a confusing and frightening place Anna is in right now.

Her mind must be whirling with everyone around her telling her what to do.

If she leaves her husband, she faces the prospect of raising her children as a single mother and all the hardships that single motherhood entails (but it CAN be done, with some help and determination). On the other hand, if she stays, she faces the very real possibility that her husband may betray her again (past behavior is an indicator of future behavior) - perhaps after the eventual 5th or 6th child is born, making it all the more difficult to leave in the future.

I applaud her brother for taking a stand on his sister's behalf (as well as on behalf of his nieces & nephews).

Bravo to Daniel!!! I doubt that Anna will take him up on his offer, but at least she knows she's not alone. At least she now knows she has choices, neither of which are easy choices to make.

I hope and pray that Anna chooses the path of courage, rather than the path of fear.

He's had 3 or 4 kids, with all of their many needs, a largish house and yard, church and family obligations, and a prestigious job with the whatever organization. Where did he find time to look at on the Internet, to build dating/cheating profiles and to actually cheat? Did he do this at work (thereby cheating his employer); did he do it at home (sorry, dear, don't have time to change a diaper or feed a baby or run an errand right now); did he sit up late at night (depriving his wife of his presence in bed); or, all of the above?

What a totally skeevy little creep he is! I reckon they might need to audit the books of the tow truck business, too. And if I owned a store where he shops, I might have security keep an eye on him. Girls, don't leave your purses unattended when Joshy comes to Thanksgiving dinner, either.

Needless to say, a marriage vow is a sacred vow. After failing miserably to honor one's hallowed promise to one's life-partner, true contrition involves turning away from harmful actions/disastrous choices, whether or not one is caught in the act.

True contrition definitely does NOT involve renewing a subscription & paying an additional fee that guarantees an extramarital 'hookup'.

I'd say that's the exact opposite of contrition.

I'd also say that JD's only regret is that he got caught.

When he got regretful about the child molestation thing and said how sorry he was, you'd think that it would have been a good time to think about his other sins and how he's still wronging people as an adult... If the confession comes out little by little according to what you got busted for and you confess only to as few things as possible each time it's far less convincing that you ever meant any of it.

What about making choices as an adult and taking different actions? What about "being thankful for [his] God's grace, mercy, and redemption" and making the adult choice to not exalt himself as an irreproachable example for all to follow, when he knew full well that he had no right to do so?

Even if he HAD been 'without sin' and above reproach, his message should have still been grace, mercy, and redemption, as a disciple of the tenets of Jesus Christ - who (according to the scriptures) is the ONLY one 'without sin'.

Josh Duggar and his ilk are no different than the Sadducees and the Pharisees, whom Jesus rebuked as hypocrites.

Humility follows acceptance of grace. Humility follows acceptance of mercy. Humility follows acceptance of redemption.

Memorized talking points do not equal understanding or even come close to wisdom, nor do they equal humility, none of which Josh Duggar possesses, IMO - if he did, he would have never worked on behalf of the Family Research Council.

I think pastor Ronnie cheapens the commitment. I'm not particularly religious but I promised to be faithful to my spouse for better and for worse, and I consider it a binding promise. Our vows did not include, "we'll be faithful as long as all our sexual needs, wants and impulses are being fulfilled every day, and if not they will be met by someone, somewhere, somehow"

So, according to Pastor Ronnie, if a wife doesn't feel like having sexual intercourse on demand (for whatever reason), or refuses (again, for whatever reason) to give her hubby a on demand, or objects to a sexual position that she doesn't feel comfortable with (once again, for whatever reason), it's the "enemy's" (Satan's) and/or the wife's fault if the husband seeks sexual intercourse, or a , or a willing partner who'll do it in whatever position he wants outside the marriage, because his wife didn't make him "happy sexually"?????

Well, I've got news for Pastor Ronnie. I know plenty of wives who did all the above AND THEN SOME - and their husbands STILL fell victim to ol' Lucifer's temptations.
