SEARCY, AR - We have new details tonight into the investigation of what happened, hearing from the person who last saw Malik.

Josh Berry has the report live from where the search began Sunday night.

Malik's father's girlfriend who considers herself his step mom tells me she has been spending most of the last few days inside the police department answering questions about what happened.

She says she was told she didn't pass questions on the polygraph test



Searcy Police did confirm today that cadaver dogs have been used throughout this investigation.

Malik's father's truck was searched by the dogs just as they continue this investigation in hopes of finding Malik.

I must have missed it too. It further strengthens my suspicions even though it also says police insist there is no suspect. I'm not set yet on whether I believe Malik is being hidden for manipulative reasons or if something horrific happened to him within the home. Fwiw, a stranger abduction or him just wandering off are very near the bottom of my list of possibilities.

I am still curious about the living arrangement and the number of children.

As far as I've been able to find, between Mom, Dad, and Stepmom, there are at least 10 children. Hard to say how many each has custody of, and how many are in custody of none.

I would think the truck would be searched as standard procedure in looking for Malik, incase he crawled in there (as we've seen in other cases...what was the name of the little boy who was found in the trunk?) But, my question is, they used dogs here, so its not like they just peeked in there and saw he wasn't there...would a warrant be needed for this? Did the dogs go in as standard procedure, or is the search with dogs in the vehicle bc of something else they might suspect? Are they just covering all their bases, or could there be more to this? Just some thoughts...

I wonder who all has access to the dad 's truck?

For instance... Is he the only person that drives it... Or does anyone else have access to keys and the truck?

(O/T: The gist of Mikaeel Kular's case, with gruesome details removed / it seems she beat him to death because he was sick:

"When she originally reported her son missing, Adekoya told police officers that he had climbed on a stool to unlock the front door of their flat. This prompted a large-scale search of the surrounding area involving members of the fire service, the coastguard and dog teams in addition to hundreds of members of the public.

But inconsistencies began to emerge in her account of events and, by the Friday evening, police "suspected that all was not as she had indicated".

During a further interview she broke down and told officers: "It was an accident and I panicked. I am going to go to the jail." She then showed officers where she had concealed her son's body in the woods."

Still heartbroken over this case, happened in Edinburgh in the same neighbourhood I've lived all my life, we were out in our hundreds looking for him for days only then did the mother finally confess & lead police to his whereabouts in a suitcase behind her sisters house over 10 miles from their home! we are all still overcome with sadness about mikaeel, a place of rememberance is underway for him with locals raising over 3k..

And the so-called mother only got an 11 years jail sentence & will be out in 7 years on good behaviour with a new identity and us tax payers forever paying for her.! Oh and she has weekly visits from her other children including the twin!

In a most recent news article Mikaeels father spoke out how he believes the 'mother' couldn't bond with mikaeel because he was so like his father, whom rejected her as she got pregnant while he was with another female! It was found by police that her websearches included 'why do I love all my children but 1' and 'why do I hate my son'

(Will little Malik ever be found? Is this one of the cases we will always wonder what happened to him? Or is this case about to break wide open? I'm anticipating the latter, that LE will get to the bottom of all of this/get someone to break if there's any chance there is hinkiness).

TEN? Both biomom and girlfriend are quite young, both in their early/mid 20's. How in the world can there be 10 children? I mean sure it's possible, but that's wild.

Well thank you. I didn't watch the video, just read the article. Lesley has 6 kids... oldest is 7 years old. I think she has the youngest 2 living with her.

(slightly O/T, a question FWIW, not saying this is the case here BUT out of curiosity, I am interested in the stats involving cases where a death in the home of a small child (either accidental or otherwise) and resulting cover up occurs, as far as disposal sites, methods, distance to site from home, etc...I haven't followed a lot of those types of cases, but wondering if there is some sort of pattern that can be identified...if anyone can name some cases I can research for this purpose I would greatly appreciate it. tia)

(I remember oceanblueeyes mentioned in another thread that often, if a mother is responsible for the death of her child, the child is often found "swaddled in a blanket", perhaps buried, iirc.)
